The thing that bothers me is the lack of realism. I’m not talking about the silly bell falling and knocking the necklace onto the neck of the girl he is meant to marry, but the fact that they end up happy ever after. We all know his mother is going to tell his bothers to honor 🔪 him and his love because she is a Dalit. There is never the happy ending in Bharat, especially with Modi and his backward social ideas. These movies pretend like justice prevails, the hero wins, karma gets the villain, true love conquers all, but that is just not the way it is. Society and families break laws and do violence to keep people of different castes and faiths apart, not just in love but in all aspects of culture.
I've seen em, some are good and some way to cringe.
That happened to my uncle too.
