Thanks so much Ritual for partnering with me on this video! They give me peace of mind knowing I'm NOT just swallowing mystery ingredients and hoping for the best! Remember to use my code FOX20 for 20% off your first month at ritual.com/FOX20
I looked up the ritual vitamins ingredients and there are some bad ingredients in there that do more harm to the body than good. Citric acid isn't a real form of vitamin C. That's actually derived from mold spores. Also Vitamin A and Zinc can only be found in whole food sources. Sorry for my novel, but thought I would let you know.
My mother was a wonderful seamstress. She sewed everything from lap pads for the nursing homes in our area to wedding dresses. A lot of my favorite childhood memories are based around her sewing. I loved standing behind her as she sewed and playing with all of her buttons and rickrack. One year for Christmas we were having a tough time financially and my mama used her scrap material to make matching clothes for me and my doll. Precious memories!
Sewer here as well, so these kind of videos are one of my favorite! Just a tip about your neckband, I do these all the time... it looked like it gaped a little bit and didn't lay flat. When you pin it onto your bodice, before sewing, stretch the neck band a little before pinning it. It will look like the band will be too small or be kind of bunched when you're done, but it won't be. My neckbands always end up laying nice and flat against my skin. I can send you a link from Pinterest where I learned this if you want. It makes all the difference! ~Joanne
Your dresses are beautiful, Megan. I'm a dress lover too. I went to a doctor appointment with a casual dress and sandals on and the doctor told me I didn't have to "dress up" for my appointments. Little did he know that I was wearing that dress because it was extremely comfortable.
Megan, I keep chuckling at the similarities in our lives and culture! I'm a Hutterite from Manitoba, Canada and I just finished sewing a set of dresses for myself a day ago, but what got me laughing this time is your question about using my mom's scissors for anything other than fabric😂😂 That was like thee capitol offence!🤭😄
Lolz mine too! My brother and I would always steal the scissors for whatever and she'd be hollerin for her sewing scissors! Now I get frustrated when my husband takes my kitchen scissors I always find them in the barn or tractor! 😄
My mother was a hair dresser and seamstress so when I was a kid I had TWO pairs of scissors that were off limits. 🤣 I used them all the time and got caught every single time!!
Awesome sewing! You've got me wanting to sew something! Again, I'd like to point out my appreciation for the way you interact with your kids. I love them having independence. Thank you for showing a baby doesn't have to strapped to you in carrier all day! You can get everything done while still letting baby be active and explore! Great example! Thank you!
Meagan, I want to say thank you so much for these wholesome videos each week. You are my favourite RUclipsr!! Please keep on doing the wonderful work you do! My background is Mennonite and Amish. It was my great grandparents that were Amish and then Mennonite I think. My family still dresses similar to you and have some of the same beliefs and traditions. Most importantly we share that hope in Jesus. And are believers in Him and in His Word. Have a wonderful day!!!
Hi Megan. I’m pregnant with my 3rd (one is only 13 months,20 when the baby comes) … you give me hope that I will be okay! Love following your journey and parenting tips when you share them. Also love your style. Your such a breath of fresh air in this world . Love from Canada 🇨🇦
Mom of four here and my youngest two are 11 months and 10 days apart. Mine are almost grown now (youngest two will be 18 and 17 this year), but I wanted to let you know that you can do it!!!
I agree with you that dresses are easy to wear. Just match a jacket or cardigan if needed. They both turned out beautiful on you. I think they would be nice enough for church dresses.
I'm a lady over 60 and am off my feet with a broken right leg & hairline fracture in the left foot. I ordered the Ritual vitamins to see if they would aid in the healing. Thanks for your coupon and loved your video of making the dresses. I love to make quilts and since my accident a month ago, can't use my sewing machine. I still have at least 4 wks before I can put weight on my right leg. It's been a long process. The Lord has taken care of me during this process and my husband has been my sanity. Keep up the great videos and love watching your kids!
Karen McClung, I’m over 60 as well and broke my hip 10 days before Christmas, so I feel your pain. Have you thought about moving your foot pedal up onto the right side of your sewing machine and using your right hand to run it. It might take some getting used to sew, excuse the pun, play with some scraps if you have any. Just a thought.
I love the dress! Megan, your creativity blows me away over and over again. Thank you for sharing it with us. I just wanted to say, I think you and Josh are doing a marvelous job caring for your children. It's always an encouragement watching your videos.
I have Gingher sewing scissors, also. Yeah, BIG no-no to use sewing scissors for anything but fabric. It dulls them and then they will snag your fabric. I love to see young women sewing. I sewed most of my dresses and suits, completely lined, when I was younger. As I got older, I had very serious family obligations (nice way of saying I had to care for all the sick folks, while raising my children) 24/7. No time to sew unless it was mending. Life happens... I love your mother/daughter dresses. I never had a little girl to sew for. I really enjoy the content of your channel. 🙂👍
You are such a breathe of fresh air! I want to be like you when I grow up! (I'm 33 🤣) really though, you are inspiring especially when I'm in a mental rut. I'm a stay at home, homeschooling mom of 4 ages 5 mths to 9 years old. Here in rural MO.
Megan, you're really organized...BLESSINGS! But! ..youre still, patient and attentive to you babies, beautiful eyes, smart, sweet babies... beautiful! Just beautiful! Our world needs lessons from you..
Your dresses turned out super cute and I can't believe you free-formed them from a tee shirt. And they look so comfy. There is nothing better in the summer than a light, flowy dress. Except a matching one with your adorable daughter. Good luck with the allergies. I live next door in NY and I feel your pain. We're eating a lot of soup and it seems to help some.
You are adorable and I wish we lived closer because we would totally be friends. Bread making, sewing, chasing around children. These are the days, sister!
I love sewing, so this video is perfect for me. I made your whoopie pies today, and everyone loves them! ( i live in Norway so they are new to my friends )
I love your matching dresses💗 Your children are adorable and I am so impressed how you teach them to be independent and help out at an early age. You unfortunately don't see that enough anymore. Thanks for sharing parts of your life with us, I'm always looking forward to your videos.
I loved this video. Megan the dresses were so cute. Evonnie is just beautiful in her little pigtails and bows. I can't believe Miller is sitting up already. He's going to grow up fast!! Love your sweet family.
I love apricot jam, but I never would have thought to pair it with those other ingredients. Btw, Trader Joe's has an excellent low sugar organic apricot jam. The dresses turned out great. I like the length of the first one. Ruffles can sometimes look weird but you made it look wonderful!
I LOVE the matching dresses. Laura Ashley is a British store of those exact types of dresses. I used to work at the store in Dallas. She has great ideas so you could check out her website if they still run it. I think the store is only in England now.
I love watching your sewing videos! They're validating, lol because I sew like you. Make up my own patterns, fly by the seat of my pants 😂 My mom about has a heart attack every time I start a project without a pattern, lol.
This video was SUCH a treat to watch. I loved all the montages of your surroundings, the sandwich sounds so good. I loved seeing how your dress turned out and I even enjoyed the vitamin bit, especially the reverse footage. The quick little clip of your baby in the door jumper made me bust out laughing, because he's just so darn cute! The bird sounds were very relaxing. What a treat tobwatch this at the end of a long day!
Hi Megan .. I have missed seeing you and family ... Notifications fell off my radar for some reason / ?? So great to see Evonnie cooking with you again, n so cute " this smells so good " .. Fletcher has grown n just so handsome, and Miller too n so cute .. Great job on your dresses .. U n Evonnie so cute with the matching .. She really seems to love it .. Josh playing with Miller is so cute .. Miller is the happiest baby .. Very happy to be back ..
Love the matching outfits. Same, same, but different. I'm not a dress person myself. I actually feel much more exposed in a dress or skirt, but that's just me. I prefer jeans and shorts, but I understand where you are coming from with the styles you like and the requirements of your faith. I wish I was so clever with a sewing machine.
I love how you painted the wall behind your couch. I loved that black floral dress better in the beginning. The collar and the ruffle gives the dress a vintage look.
That sandwich sounds amazing! We have a restaurant that makes a grilled cheese with Danish Fontina, White Cheddar, Granny Smith Apple, Purple Fig Jam, on Griddle Challah. So good!
Loved the dresses! Thanks for including them in the video. I love modest clothing. You show how stylish modest clothing can be and how classy it looks!
Awww we had those books also....when my children were younger.....I sure do miss those days....I wish I played more then worried about my house ...sigh
Love how you made matching dresses for you and your little girl! Also the color green for your wedding party was beautiful! I would enjoy seeing more of the pictures from the wedding. Blessings! ❤️
I loved watching this video ❤️❤️❤️You are a breath of fresh air. Thanks for sharing your day. I will share your channel with an amazing Mom of 7 kiddos.
You need to make matching aprons for you two next! Boys shirt for her, mans shirt for you? Have you seen those aprons? You can add lace to them. Love your sewing pattern, I make my own also and my granddaughters like you do. Enjoyed the video! Thank you so much. You know when she gets a little taller that dress might still fit her since it is full and you might be able to put a ruffle on it also? I do like the new neckline on your dress better now. looks much better.
I love your dresses. I'm amazed how you just cut them out without a set pattern, just your t-shirt. They are very nice dresses. I have trouble finding the right style dress for myself. Blessings to your sweet family.
ha! i found that same book set at a garage sale years ago...i wasnt a big fan (generational gap i suppose) but my kids LOVED tham so we still have them on the shelf 4 more kids later.
Ha! We’ve planned and dreamed of our back yard improvements for about 25 years. Just yesterday the man who will do our hardscapes was here with the estimate and he was right on the mark. He’ll start by June 1st. Can’t wait!
I LOVE the cape look and wish that would come back into fashion in some way. I love wearing aprons in plain colors because it looks so cool. That makes it look pretty similar.
I love the black dress wow!!!!!! Yes you give me hope for a motherhood life that I want, not one that the world gives me the image of! It is possible! 💙💙
For your neckbands, you want them to be 90% of the neck opening. Just measure the opening and multiply that by .9 to be the length of your band. I like to cut mine about 2” wide and in the end it will be about 1/2” wide once sewn on. If you quarter the band and neck opening with pins and stretch it to match the pins, you should be able to get a good result that lays more flat. I love watching sewing videos and enjoyed this one. Nice job!
We also have those books about negative behavior. Such a great resource. Those sandwiches would probably be good with goat cheese too, if you can’t have cow’s milk. Yum!
I love to watch your channel because you remind me so much of my mom. She taught me all these life skills you’re teaching your kids. Such a wholesome channel 🥰 Also you should try the apricot preserves on a pizza with cream cheese and grilled chicken
Omg thank you so much for reminding me I can make my own dress! I’ve been looking for a tshirt dress I like for a whole year now. I could just make one. Duh!
I love wearing dresses, it was actually you who inspired me to start wearing long skirts then I started sewing my own, I’m yet to make a whole dress though
I love it when you incorporate sewing with your videos!!! This was great loved it all!! Evonnie looked so cute. The kids area getting sooo big!! Miller is such a happy baby!!
Hi! I’m new to your channel & love it! I love your encouragement to moms to have other projects outside of the basic parenting tasks. Your mother/daughter dresses are adorable! Thank you for being so sweet and encouraging and I look forward to more of your videos!
I can’t believe how big Miller is already ! He’s so adorable 🥰 and Vonnie (spell?) when she said how good the soup smells 🤣 I love how you read to your children, that used to be something I enjoyed doing for my children and adding all the right voices 😄 Now I read to my grandchildren. I sometimes forget myself and get to animated 🤣

Great tip, true💜
Evonnie cooking and declaring, "mmm, it smells so good," was so cute and endearing. What a sweet moment captured on video.

Nope. No fabric scissors on paper!😂

Hello Mac how are you doing

Thank you for sharing your time and family ! We love when Thursday comes around!
So glad you are here!
Oh, Megan, since you see, matching aprons for you and your little helper in the kitchen would be so cute! 🥰

Hello 👋 how are you doing
Amazing how fast Miller is growing, sitting on his own running around in his walker, such a handsome little guy. Good job on the dresses!!
Where do I find recipe for rosemary bread?
Megan you inspire me so much as a mother. You seem so strong and confident and I hope I can learn that from you!
I love your matching dresses💗
Your children are adorable and I am so impressed how you teach them to be independent and help out at an early age. You unfortunately don't see that enough anymore.
Thanks for sharing parts of your life with us, I'm always looking forward to your videos.
Wonderful job! I feel inspired to try clothing. Right now I only quilt. Totally agree about the advantages of dresses!
Hello Kathy how are you doing
Gingher scissors are fantastic!! I got my mom’s after she passed on, and I cherish using them & thinking of all the things she made using them. ❤️❤️
Your always a Blessing, Thank you💖🌺😊.
Megan - when doing your sleeves, you can hem them with elastic on one side and thread on the other which allows for some more stretch.
Goodness this video has a lot of real life work slash fun. thanks so much for sharing
Hello Gloria how are you doing today
I love dresses too, Megan. Thanks so much for sharing. Those dresses look so nice and comfee. See you in the next video. Have a good day.
Hello Carol how are you doing?
I loved this video. Megan the dresses were so cute. Evonnie is just beautiful in her little pigtails and bows. I can't believe Miller is sitting up already. He's going to grow up fast!! Love your sweet family.
I enjoyed your sewing video. I would like to see more of them. I liked Fletcher's Westbrook jersey. Go Eagles.
An easy rule I use for neck and armhole binding or bands is to cut it 80% of the neck measurement. No gaps that way.
I love apricot jam, but I never would have thought to pair it with those other ingredients. Btw, Trader Joe's has an excellent low sugar organic apricot jam. The dresses turned out great. I like the length of the first one. Ruffles can sometimes look weird but you made it look wonderful!

Lol, yes! If we used mom's sewing scissors for cutting our crafts, oh boy!😅
The dresses have a 1920s vibe, fun and feminin. Love them.

You did really good coping off your dress making a pattern that way..and yes,I really like that dress ..good job

Happy Mother’s Day blessings
ha! i found that same book set at a garage sale years ago...i wasnt a big fan (generational gap i suppose) but my kids LOVED tham so we still have them on the shelf 4 more kids later.
Hello Sarah how are you doing
Your dresses came out 👏👏 both you and your little girl look so adorable in your matchy dresses.
The mom and daughter dresses are so beautiful and sweet. I love when you and her are cooking together and your recipes are so good
Yes, I am a dress girl! Not due to religious beliefs but because I love wearing dresses. They are so easy. I only wear slacks/jeans if I have to.
Love the dresses. Evonnie is adorable wanting to match with you.
Love the dresses! It does look so comfortable!! I am with your little girl … love the black dress!!
Loved the intro to this, so peaceful 😍🙏
Hello Brianna how are you doing
Oh, sweet baby Miller!

Hello Petra how are you doing
I love your videos and your children are precious. Not sure how you get so much done in a day.
When I am sewing i usually have you tube on. I watch your videos while I sew. Love your sewing videos!!
I loooove the dresses!! The ruffled bottom is lovely
Passing through Lancaster at night sending a little wave your way.
Yum!
Miller looked so cute at the beginning! Your bread looked good! I LOVE the videos with any recipes and baking!!!
I love watching you make things to sew. It inspires me and shows me how to make something from a shirt I already own that I like.
I love to watch your channel because you remind me so much of my mom. She taught me all these life skills you’re teaching your kids. Such a wholesome channel 🥰
Also you should try the apricot preserves on a pizza with cream cheese and grilled chicken
I am impressed with your sewing
The dress is adorable!
Omg thank you so much for reminding me I can make my own dress! I’ve been looking for a tshirt dress I like for a whole year now. I could just make one. Duh!
Miller is so stinking cute! I could drown in his eyes! Keep these videos coming, Megan♥️
Those fabrics are so beautiful!
I love wearing dresses, it was actually you who inspired me to start wearing long skirts then I started sewing my own, I’m yet to make a whole dress though
Aww my daughter used to love her baby walker, she used to fly around the living room in it.
Hello Lynne how are you doing?
Your dresses are beautiful! I love the print of the second dress!
Really good video, food, style, kids and outdoors lol!

Thanks for the new music and the interesting tidbits about your church!
