Faye, I'm praying for you. I can truly understand the frustration and the overwhelming feeling of what you are feeling. This is not easy at all. I want to tell you that there is indeed a light at the end of the tunnel. God is not going to allow you to fail. He sees all your hard work and all the effort that you continuously put in on a day to day basis. I trust and believe that he is going to help you to overcome all of this. Please I ask of you to trust and have just a little bit of faith and something will work out in your favor. I will be praying heavily for you my friend. Hi Faye, sorry if it was covered in this video. Watched it yesterday and coming back to comment. I know you also have a video about doing bank work too. Is it right that if you are on placement; working 37.5 hours a week you can only pick up 10.5 hours bank work…. As you can’t go over 48 hours. My plan for placement was to do the 3 long days (if it’s a set up like that), rest a couple days and then pick 1 and 1/2 12 hour shift or 2/3 8 hour shift on the remaining 3 days. How does that work with making up the hours too. So worried that if I get ill not only will I not be able to do any bank work (and not get a wage as no sick pay for bank workers) I will then get a back log of placement hours that will mean that I can’t do bank work because I’m making them up.
Hello lovely 🤗 thank you for watching 💕 I would say that that is correct - HOWEVER I would ALWAYS advise you check with your university as each university has their own policies and it is completely down to each university, so double check with them to be sure 💕
Thank you for reply, the person who said it on a student nursing Facebook group told me it was from the NMC 🤔 I’m not sure it is true as I can’t find anything online about it but I know 48 hours is the working time directive which means you can’t be forced to work more than that unless you sign an agreement. But there isn’t a limit if you sign up for ‘overtime’ Unis themselves may have there own policies as you say but luckily mine talked about it in my interview; just like this is a full time course you have to commit but it is okay to do bank shifts as we know you have bills (lots of mature students on nursing and at this Uni) I hear of plenty of qualified nurses that are encouraged to take on extra shifts, it would make sense if there was maximum hours a week for patient safety, but I don’t think it’s true.
I am praying that you are able to overcome all of your obstacles and finish strong 🙏 It will be worth it and it is very unfair 🥺 You got this 💪 Just try not to let all of the extra clinical hours affect your other courses 🫶💕
