Thank you for this video. I have recently graduated a flying school and have applied for Susi Air. I know I will have less experience than other potential applicants, but I am hopeful.
as an Indonesian, I can tell you that foreigner life in Indonesia still better off than the local one. but again Indonesia, for better or worse is like a durian fruit..you either going to madly love it or you hate it or in the middle, sometimes you have the urge to eat the fruit but other time you cannot stand near anyone who just eat that damn fruit half an hour ago.
absolutely great video, the detail you went into here was absolutely amazing.....I am so sorry it has only 5K views and 109 likes (108 just a sec ago) There should be 5 million views and 109K likes
Hi capt, there's a little question that I really want to confirm that may I bring a fishing rod in a pipe with a length of 175cm and a diameter of 10cm on a Susi Air flight for a fishing trip. Thank you capt.
This is actually a common question which I receive. I might add it in a later video. The documentary, Worst Place to be a Pilot, followed predominently British pilots as it was aimed at a UK audience. In reality, British pilots made up about 20% or so of the workforce at the time. Susi Air has in the past preferred pilots from many nationalities as opposed to just one or two nations. It makes sense. This way they don't need to worry about losing too many pilots in the event of a recruitment drive in their home countries. There have been a few US pilots. Not too many, however I think that was due to favourable career prospects in the US. Are you looking to apply?
I'm afraid so. If it's anything like when I was in recruitment for Susi Air, they're probably getting 1-2000 applications a month. There are some hacks to improve your chances though. Will upload another video in a few days with details how 😁
@@frankhenriquez6283 in my mind by the time anything is wildly spread public its already too late to apply to be a pilot. Just like bitcoin. Bitcoin was good until it got media attention. By that time your chamce to get in was already gone

Thanks so much for sharing this. One question: I see a lot of UK pilots flying there. Do US pilots ever make it to Susi Air? Thanks again. WLBS

Hi Dan, I have a new Zealand cpl ,do I have a chance with susi?

The last real Adventures in the world! Flying with a "bush pilot" cool!
Hey Dan, I was looking at the FAA license stuff for Indonesia- my question is if you could shed light on weather this counts towards US FAA license’s?
Coordinates for 2:40? That’s an amazing lookout.
Looking forwards to fly PC6 as student PRIVATE PILOT LICENCE .....
How many flight hours do you need before you can apply?
Can I get you to sign a book for me? Can't wait to read about the adventures.
My nephew has just joined Susi Air as of October 2022 he now in training
2024 he is now a Captain for Susi
I want to go there now. Have 600 TT and CPL checkride in 2 weeks. Would love to get in contact with people inside
After they got on tv did they get flooded with new pilots because the world was suddenly aware of susi existing? Kinda making it hard to get into?

@@DanRichworth wow i figured as much. Thanks eh. I Appreciate the video
Did you guys fly IFR or VFR only?
If you check Susi air website they already removed the email for non Indonesian first officer position :(

How many hours would a bush pilot log per year? (rough average). Thanks.
So the 600 - 700 hrs per year, is this SIC or ICUS for co-pilots?
Can I obtain a PRIVATE PILOT LICENCE aviation from Susi air Company .
Did you or anyone you worked with catch malaria and/or dengue? I'm trying to get a handle on how hard it is to avoid it on the long term.
You probably got a 1% chance of getting it, if you got sick you'd be seriously unlucky.
Does Susi still recruit FOs?
I trust Susi air - cause company owned a flight simulator - the rest is natures .
