Ohio, so I am afraid of the dam raccoons thinking of putting 4” pipe in the ground and welding a platform to bolt to. My wood duck houses I built side pivot clean out door onto. Replace pine shavings in. Do I need to clean out? Or stay away? I will put boxes on east side of my woods on the fence line overlooking fields, and hope for the best the highway US 30 would be 1000 yds to the south. Should be good wind protection. Thank you

I have a large hay barn that is open one end. Could I mount one of these at the back of the barn? It would be completely dry for the owls and there are plenty of mice and rats for them to grab. They would be doing me a favour. I know I have owls flying into my barn as I've seen the pellets they deposit on the floor. That's the indigestible parts of the rodents they make into a ball.

Not a problem ! If you already are seeing evidence of barn owls all the better--Barn owls are not as territorial as other owl so down the road you can always place another box ! Feel free to email me at tacticalyakn@gmail.com if you have any questions, Thanks, Bill

Is there any food that one could set out during lean times to help the owls stay nourished?

Why can't I use cedar chips? Why are pine chips better? Thanks in advance
