I got several American friends who are pretty racist to me because I'm a muslim back when we first met. I just play along with their jokes though, if they say stuff like "Are you gonna bomb some place?" you say things like "Oh I just did in Florida, on to California next!" or something along "The cries of infidels help me sleep at night." they eventually mellowed out and start hanging out with me and got interested to learn about Islam as well even though I'm not really religious. We're still friends today and they're no longer racist, or at least no longer an islamophobe. I hope you'll meet nice people in the future and things work out for you.

I think I speak for most arabs in middle east when I say that we really don't care what anyone think of us(especially when they are are know to hate arabs).
