    What a passionate review. I had a very similar Jasmine guitar (which I think is owned by Takamine). It played and sounded amazing like but sadly it got stolen. I want to buy this guitar now.

    Thankfully, the saddle is NOT compensated. The split designed saddle makes it a real pain in the a$$ if you want to install a standard piezo style pickup under the saddle. Besides. no one really cares if the sounds is a teeny weeny bit off (heck even the pull or push or your finger, when fingering a chord, will do this, and does this all the time.) I would not buy a guitar with a split saddle. Years ago Takamine didn't do this nonsense to the saddle, You could buy a Takamine with just a one piece saddle and they worked just fine. Takamine is doing themselves a disservice by putting a two piece saddle on their new guitars (attempt to sell proprietary pickups?) Takamine makes great guitars, but this limitation made mandatory by their split saddle is too much. About this review: Good job. Thanks !! You really did a nice job of showing this guitar. PS: Modern laminates are amazing. De facto, you pointed that out in this review. The technology, in the making of laminate is so good, that laminate top guitars, are about 95% of the sound of a solid top. In some cases, laminate tops make for a less boomy guitar (on certain notes), making them actually a better guitar to record with. Also the durability of a laminate top, makes it a better choice for going into environments where temperature can fluctuate, or there are more "bumps" to incur. Modern technology is making these inexpensive guitars, amazing. About the brightness: The mahogany or Nato wood makes for less harmonic content on plucked note. This gives the sound a more flute like quality. The fundamental frequency has more presence.

    The Takamine I purchased is similar excepting the addition of an electronics package; which is okay in my opinion but probably inferior to a Fisman's package. It is too plain in my opinion so I am thinking of adding pearl fret dots to the fret board and upgrading the tuning knobs to gold or copper colored ones. I am very happy with this 2024 model of GD 11 MCE NS so I can finally leave a guitar in alternate tuning and continue my intermediate training and play in public with a decent instrument.

    I Gentleman, have listened very carefully to your review. I have the cataway model and I confirm everything you said about this guitar. It is wonderful to play it. However, I noticed that compared to others it is a little heavier. Have you noticed?

    • @mikemelvinva
      @mikemelvinva 3 года назад

      I just bought the cutaway and yes I noticed it is heavier than my Taylor 214 Koa cutaway. I bought this for the unplugged sound quality. The electonics are a bonus. I was looking for something I could travel with that would not break me if I had to gate check and did not survive the flight. Super happy so far.

      @@mikemelvinva I Gentleman, at the end, which one you prefer, your takamine Gd11 or Taylor 214?

    • @michaelsouthcott1647
      @michaelsouthcott1647 7 месяцев назад

      I noticed that too. For it's size it seems heavier, maybe because the sound box is deeper or it uses more extensive bracing. As it is I like the weight, without the awkwardness of handling a very large guitar. The sound is great and I I would choose this guitar over most others in it's price range excepting a top end Taylor or Martin since I am primarily a finger style player.

    Active ka din pala sa RUclips pre😃
    The M on the model code confirms that it is Mahogany and not Sapele
    The ESP Takamine website is for the US market only and they may have placed Sapele there mainly because of the scarcity of Mahogany that requires some sort of certificate to produce and sell guitars with Mahogany.
    The Takamine website has the correct info.
