If you're not going to Rag on crisis core. Then you can at least make a video on how you wouldve made it better. Personally I hate how Zack was in the back seat of all the storylines and didnt discover anything himself first hand. It's all told to him.

No telling what could happen to this fan remake. Get it while you can just incase it gets taken down.
Square-Enix has a tendency to release things shortly after you hear about a fan version. Type 0, FFVIIIHD, and there was another game but I forget. But it kind of lights a fire under there ass.
@@MRWhoreoscope This is probably at the bottom priority or not even in their mind at the moment. All resources goes to the main game especially with what they're saying that Midgar episode is as big as 1 whole FF game. Since this is a mobile platform exclusively for whatever OS their phones use back then, they will need to build this from ground up + a better translation. Crisis Core and Dirge has a better chance for a remaster since there's already an english script, runs on a much available system, and revolves around Cloud's gang.

FFVII spinoffs deserve more love and attention from SE. I really hope that they include something from the side stories in the remake and I'm just really glad that people are still working hard to keep them alive and relevant. The fact that someone put all that effort into keeping before crisis alive really shows how strong the FFVII fanbase is, I will be looking forward to playing it

I beat this fan remake last night. It's turn based with the occasional action mode sequences, but the gameplay is more about managing your item resources until you start getting buff and debuff spells.
The story does pull off a Last Order, but it's part of The Compilation, so what did I expect. There's an occasional glitch if you skip through dialogue while a person is walking/running, so take your time.
It's a thumbs up from me for game preservationism and for people with OCD like me who wanted to try the original.

Yes Yes YES!!! Once I get a few moments on my computer, this baby is going on it! I am excited about this. I do hope that Square doesn't slap a C&D order and realize that it was made for the love of making it! As you said, it is fan made and is receiving no profits for it and being that it is no longer available...

Now my only question....is Jade Weapon in this??? It's the only weapon in the series that is kinda left in the dark. I know you could battle it in different areas in Japan so I wonder how that would work on a PC.
Ah this video and fan remake was made before Ever Crisis was announced. Supposedly Ever Crisis will include this game's story as well, we can only hope.
It still will, I imagine it'll come 2024 earliest, 2025 latest, as it'll partially tie into Vincent's story, who will likely get more emphasis post-Rebirth.
I remember hearing about Before Crisis a long time ago but was disappointed realising it was only Japan-exclusive. You can find some of the soundtrack on RUclips though, the final boss theme kicks ass. Hopefully with this fan-release, we'll be able to see some gameplay footage, as well. I'm checking out the link myself right now.
It'll be great if SquareEnix releases Before Crisis as a Intergrade-styled remake for Remake.

Back in 2003-2004, I remade FF6's The Battle of Narshe for Warcraft 3 (and later, Frozen Throne).
Totally overhauled to battle system to be ATB /menu-based using the algorithms from the original game for accuracy. Even had a bit of room left over to mess with Summons even though they don't appear till a bit later in the story (but I was on a roll and wanted to have some fun with the momentum).
Had everything starting from the party selection all the way to Terra's exodus. I had gotten to the point where I was starting to replace the vanilla models and music but I think I may have overstepped my bounds at that stage and it was eventually taken down.
I've lost my backups (hdd crashes and literally hundreds of backup CDs to sort through). If there's anyone that could find it, I'd be eternally grateful. It was most likely submitted under the username 'zeadon' or 'taiken'.
This is so bad ass! I'm super stoked to finally be able to play this after all these years.

I played this back in 2006 and wasn't amused, I was quite new to Japan at that time and got overwhelmed by the easy access to thousands of games. Im gonna play this later before the FFVIIRe comes out.

This is actually a great step especially with the fact that the game isn't officially available at all.
I will definitely download it in the next days but I guess I won't play it now. I'm not that much knowable with FF VII so I might play it later when the remake of VII is released.

I'm always still amazed when I see people able to do non-jrpg things in the engine, though...
Honestly, I feel like it's easier to make an RPG in an engine with a good scripting library (unity/gamemaker/Godot) just because it's so much easier to do simple things like, build separate components and build a game that way, than how I remember rpg maker doing things where while you have all of these tools, I felt like you couldn't make your own new assets with their own behaviours as easily.
So, yeah, Richard for having put some action/non-tbjrpg mechanics, mad props.

Damn, you're lucky! All I got on my old phone back in the day was scams, super short games and occasionnally decent games (looking at you, Final Fantasy 1 & 2, TMNT Ninja Tribunal and Chuck Norris Bring On The Pain).

I still hold onto an old Ipod touch so I can play Chaos Rings 1, 2, and Omega since I can't seem to get any mobile emulators to work on PC. Other than a Japanese only vita port, it's the only way I can play some of my favorite games of all time with some of the absolute best characters Square has ever made.
Really hope they come to the switch or something some day.

How do you actually play the game? as soon as I launch it I start running north, and I can't figure out how to do anything besides open the pause menu.

@@agrowingartist1274 I think maybe it's broken for me, I'm trying to use the arrow keys to move but that doesn't work. It just automatically runs north and I can't move in any other direction. Menu navigation is fine though which is odd
@@glenmorgan193 may be a bug... maybe you should test in another pc, and if it works, save past this bug, get the save file and go back to the original pc.

The game did have keyboard/mouse compatibility to begin with. In theory, it wouldn't be too hard to play on a PS2 Emulator (Though, yeah, not perfect, because emulators never are, it would certainly be close)

I was able to get it to start up on my vita using the easrpg emulator (basically a rpgmaker emulator) but it seems to freeze with the music just going on a endless loop...gonna try and figure out how to get it running smoothly
