  • Happy Easter! Easter is the second biggest holiday in Canada and the third biggest time for feasting! In today's English lesson we are going to learn important Easter vocabulary you need to talk about this holiday, as well as learning about some Easter traditions.
First, this English lesson explains why the date of Easter changes every year. Then, both religious aspects of Easter and secular aspects of Easter are taught using a combination of intermediate and advanced level vocabulary including: Equinox, Equator, Religious, Secular, Observed, Fundamental, Good Friday, Crucifixion, Hot cross buns, Symbol, Resurrection, Feast, Coincide, Easter bunny, Easter egg hunt,Easter basket, Easter eggs.
Near the end of the lesson, I will teach you how to make Easter eggs yourself with only a few simple steps. If you want to jump to the part in the lesson where you can learn:
How to make Easter eggs, please go to @9:35.
The recipe for the Easter egg dye is:
    - 125 ml Hot water
    - 15 ml white vinegar
    -10 drops of food colouring
(You can use any food colouring, but I find that neon food colouring works best. This is what I used: amzn.to/2GzGzLb )
Once you have learned Easter vocabulary and how to make Easter eggs, make sure you watch to the very end of the video for Question of the Day and to see if you can solve the bonus English Easter Quiz.
Enjoy Easter and Good Luck with your English studies!

Question of the Day: What celebration or holiday do you like to observe in spring?🐰
My answer: Easter is my favourite spring celebration! I also enjoy Victoria Day in May because I enjoy watching fireworks on the beach.

😆 It's selective knowledge. I know pretty much nothing about science, math, or sports😅. I don't really know how many books I read, but I do love reading and also watching documentaries.
(PS. "Knowledge" is a non-countable noun, so you can't make it plural or add an 's' to the end. 😉)

Hello, Jo Li 🐰. Thanks for your nice comment.
🐣 Christmas and Easter are my two favourite holidays because of the delicious food, and because I like to decorate my house. 🌸
Please tell me more about moon cakes, where did the name come from and what is the taste like?🥮
I am not sure what exactly you mean by secrets, but I made a video that might answer that question about Good Friday. The lesson talks about Easter and Good Friday, including the final passover supper with Jesus: ruclips.net/video/Yp5VlRca9Bw/видео.html

Hi Jimmy ✨ It's true, this year my family and I also couldn't gather to celebrate Easter due to COVID-19. We all stayed in our own homes and ate our individual dinners at the same time while video chatting on Facetime...😅
This year so many things have been cancelled or impossible due to the pandemic 😔. I look forward to this whole situation ending soon. In the meantime, I hope that you and your family are safe and healthy. 💐

"In Japan, the Golden Week is a series of four national holidays that take place within one week at the end of April to the beginning of May each year. It is often considered a time of vacation for the Japanese people, and many people receive time off from their secular employment on these bank holidays." Most people no work for sometime so we happy.

There’s no custom for celebrating Easter in Japan. That’s why I didn’t know much about it.
    That was interesting!
By the way, I don’t have any particular favorite holiday in spring. Because there is no national holiday in spring with event in Japan.
