I loved that little tid-bit about Proverbs 12:10! I never looked at it like that before, but it is so beautiful when you do.

I listened to Ruth speak last night, at an environmental event at the Church I attend 🌍. I really do struggle to understand how Christians can justify NOT being vegan. Why would ANYONE following the teachings of Jesus choose to be part of the exploitation of animals? Animals who, like humans themselves, are a part of God’s beautiful and beloved creation? xxx

You can be right-wing or conservative and still be concerned for animals. Matthew Scully is a prime example. In fact I have noticed there doesn't seem to be a huge correlation between veg*nism and politics. Several of my friends who are vegan are right-wing also. Most of India tends to be highly conservative and they have the highest rate of vegetarianism in the world.
In fact, in the book Obligate Carnivore by Jed Gillen, he warns against this kind of political bigotry. We are not doing any favours to the animals by associating ANY underlying belief system (be it religion, politics, etc.) with animal rights. He said a bunch of left-wing vegans literally went and PROTESTED a talk by Matthew Scully because he was conservative. Can you imagine?!

Lovely speech but again she doesnt make a direct statement that she stopped eating meat.
There is a difference in animal welfare and animal rights.
It sounds like this conference is more aiming at welfare than rights.
If so it doesnt solve the problem of farm animal exploitation.
These animals then still end up having their lives taken in death so humans can eat them.
Welfare is just a plaster on a festering wound.
