You should definitely check out Louis Tomlinson. He has this amazing song dedicated to his mum who passed away from cancer. He was her first child and his dad left them a week after he was born. So it was just him and his mother for the longest time. His music is more Brit pop inspired by Oasis, Green day, Artic monkeys etc. His album started with rock but slowly transcends to a more acoustic sounding album. I think out of all the boys Louis has the best lyrics and he has the most unique voice in the band. He always stood out to me. The entire album is about him and his interpretations of love. Love for his mum, love for his partner, love for his sisters, love for his younger self, love for his fans and love and acceptance of his own self. Eventhough Louis had one of the least solos in the band, he wrote the most songs out of the boys followed by Liam. He was majorly credited with leading the band into different genres and breaking out of the bubblegum pop boybander music. He is immensely talented. I really hope you'd check his music out. Please start with two of us.

The first two were fine, but don't compare to the last three, on the last albums the boys actually got to write, and had a lot of input. They have some pretty well known singles, "What makes you beautiful", "Story of My Life", and "Drag Me Down" are just a few. But even past their singles, the albums are amazing, you should definitely listen to some more.

One Direction was not the typical boy band at all. They didn't wear matching outfits, they didn't do choreographed dances, and they were much rockier than the typical boy band. The dancing in here was sort of tongue in cheek. And go back and appreciate how the boys played the different parts in the beginning. They were so fun, goofy and unique. That, in addition to their beautiful voices is why they were and still are so popular. And I will fight anyone who says that this wasn't the video where Harry looked his absolute best! 😁

They have transformed from a teen boy band (the first 2 albums, but even those had a little more of an edge than typical boy bands) to more of a stadium rock band with the last 3 albums. You should react to 5 Seconds of Summer's "The Making of Killer Queen", and "Killer Queen" (covered by 5SOS). Not many people can pull of covering Queen/ Freddie Mercury, but they do a really good job, I think you'll definitely enjoy it! The making of it is really cool to watch because it shows the behind the scenes and the recording of the different harmonies. All in all it’s really interesting to see how they recorded them; they did the harmonies all together which is an old style of recording. This must have been so hard because today you record each part of the harmony separately, so you can take each guy’s best take, and stack them together. But doing it in the style they did really stays true to how Queen originally recorded it. Anyway, you should definitely check it out!
