My favorite is the Hustler HQ-27, best cb antenna for dump trucks and as long you trim the whip down for a proper tune, you'll get very close to 1:1 and amazing range. The HQ-27 takes the abuse of tree limbs and going under asphalt silos. The Wilsons I find are decent but have to be adjusted every so often and of course, I dont know much about Strykers, but hear they are really good, I dont know how well the coil housing will take getting wacked by the I-beam that sits before silos. I'm looking at getting two Hustler SCB antennas for the Peterbilt 567 tandem dump truck as the fiberglass ones on there absolutely suck. The only fiberglass antenna I can reliably back is the Francis brand.

Big truck mirror mount, a 102” steel whip, NO Spring, exactly 21” of grey coax cable, and a good ground from the mount to the frame will talk further and hear better any compact antenna ever made. Period. And, it will handle 1500 actual watts all day long. And your SWR meter will always be flat. Compact antennas are all but useless.

Is it just me or does this person not know anything about antennas? The tram though budget does not last any better than a Francis not to mention the poor reception and they don't handle power well. Wilson today is a joke and a very low-quality antenna. When Wilson was sold off the new company relied on Wilsons reputation to sell an inferior product, personally I will not buy Wilson products again. If you have the new Wilson (those sold after the sale of the company) do not use amps unless you want to burn them up due to the problems with the low build and material quality. They are no longer a premium antenna and have not been in years these should be relegated to your junk pile. I know nothing about the Larsen NMO 27C so I ask a friend that's a Ham operator and he ask others in the hobby for info, what I got back from listening is they are decent antennas but for CB use they are basically a just down the road antenna and they should only be solid mounted so drilling your roof is a must. They also said Larsen's are very narrow banded but durable. Those comments aside they also said there were better antennas to use in the same price range that are as durable but wide banded.

It’s not dead in Ohio.
