Proud to say that my uncle served on that ship from 1964 until 1968 the year that I was born

If Picard was Captain he would have had Riker dock it without tugs.

I wish they had done this with HMS Ark Royal which has just been towed to Turkey to be broken up for scrap.

1 second of video every minute, then night shots were edited out. the time lapse is 3 day ( approx 36 hours)

Wish a daytime shot of the dock drained had been included at the end.

there's no way that's 1 second of video every minute. daylight for one day would take atleast 12 minutes

Perhaps it was 1 frame every minute. I don't remember. It was a long time ago.

Cool. But, we need data: time length, frame rate, picture capture rate etc! LOL :)

nice big shipyard , but why the pulling the water is slow , in our ship yard the vessel take only one day to set on the ground of the dry dock

Having been on ships, including the Carl Vinson, which went into dry-dock @ Hunters Point, S.F., I was surprised it took them so damn long to manage the pump-down. They must not really know what they're about, because getting the Vinson in the dock, on the blocks, and pumped-down was the process of less than a day, and that is a larger dry-dock and a larger ship.
