We have some fabulous chocolate shops in Houston. And I've had wonderful artisan chocolates in just about all the major cities I have visited. Even See's Candies is pretty darn good!
I'm not one to comment on RUclips videos, but I just really wanted to say how much your videos make me smile! I just took my MCAT (a 7+ hour medical exam) and spent the last 12 weeks with my nose in a book 9-5 every day, but your videos never failed to give me a much needed break from all the material. I love you guys, thank you for sharing your lives with all of us! :)
LOVE how ya'll buy REAL gardening tools for the beach!!! I did the same thing with my 5 kids!!!! Thanks for allowing us to have a glimpse into your lives...BTW I am the mom of a 25 year old son who has DS and he LOVES to watch you guys also!!!
The Wandering Wife Where are you folks from. There are many choclate factories where you can see it being made and also you can buy it at a cheaper price. Yes Zurich is lovely and most people here speak English as well. It just an expensive country but exceptionally beautiful.
The dumpsters are 5 meters deep under ground. And they have a metal inside that they can lift. And when it hangs above the truck the bottom can flap open. They are pretty nifty 🙄
I just love how all of your children are going to be so open minded to the world as they grow up :) My mum and dad always takes me to museaums when we are on holiday as she's a firm believer in them teaching me things about the world and different cultures. I'm now 21 and can't thank her enough for it because I genuinely feel with my parents taking me travelling around the world and seeing different things, I have learnt so much about others, the world, history and cultures :)
Recycling is awesome! I'm not sure breaking the glass, although it sounds cool, is such a good idea though. I know in my city all recycling is hand sorted at the waste management facility - to eliminate containments, like plastic in the glass bin etc... -broken glass might be a hazard if that's what they do where you are. Loved your beach supplies haul- looked like fun getting to pick out all those supplies! Yay for getting your oils! That must have been hard not to have them since you use them daily and for so many things. American solar eclipse??? Really, cause we saw it here in Canada too! 😉 During the eclipse, here in Southern Ontario, Canada, I stood under a tree to watch the leaves and their shadows. Did you know that the shadows turn into half moon shapes as the eclipse occurs, leaving an unusual and surreal pattern on the ground?!
Andrea Moore well actually it is supposed to break. You sometimes also may have different containers for different coloured glass. It's then taken to a factory and melted to create new bottles and jars. We only take glass to disposal containers. In my countries they do pick up the garbage twice a week. Every second tuesday they take your organic waste. And on the remaining tuesdays they take your residual waste. Every other thursday they take the paper and on the remaining thursdays they take your plastics. Also if you put stuff that does not belong in one of those bins they won't take it and leave a note and warning to watch your recycling. If that happens further two times they will fine you and they can also opt to not pick up your trash anymore. Of course the waste is still sorted through at the waste disposal plant, but it's much quicker if everybody does their part at home. In Germany there is also a deposit system on most drink bottles(could be plastic or glass). Meaning you don't throw them away once you drank the content but take them back to any bottle and tin deposit station in any store. You will get back some money for every bottle. I believe is something between 15 and 25 cents per bottle or tin. This is a pretty awesome system. This way you feel less tempted to little and actually take back your bottles, ultimatly only paying for the drink not the container.
I live in Columbia SC, so I goto to watch the total eclipse from the comfort of my university sorority house!!! So wonderful that y'all at least got to watch it on the internet!! It was such a beautiful and cool thing to experience.
We made a pinhole viewfinder out of a cereal box to view the eclipse. So happy for you guys getting your essential oils back:)) Wish you were able to post more:((
Seeing my friends back home all get together to go boating and paddleboarding and then the eclipse hype finally gave me my first bit of "awww, bummer, I'm missing out." Pretty good for 2 months though I guess. I can't believe I didn't even think about watching it online, duh!! Jeez. Glad you got your van and your oils!!
im a knorpp fan. i miss your updates. megan you r a great example. 4 all the moms in the world. im frome holland. i like your style. neing silly and douwn to earth. keep up the good work. give your kids a hugg frome me. be blessed
Super u is pronounced super ew instead of super you :) If you are willing to travel that far to visit the sea then you should absolutely visit Mt Saint Michel. It is an old monastery built on an island it is fully open to the public and is has beautiful architecture and history, not to mention the views as the monastery is built up 100s of meters tall.
You think there's a lot of chocolate in France, and when I've been to the US, your thing seem to be to put peanuts in everything :D It's fun how stuff like that works.
You had the sight of the eclipse but not the feeling, when it happened here in the U.K. In 1999, when the sun went behind the moon, the birds stopped singing and it was the most funny feeling. I remember it so well.
When you come to Ireland, you guys will LOVE, LOVE, LOVE OUR CHOCOLATE ! And it's great because it's very pure, and doesn't contain a bunch of ingredients to preserve it from melting...and our Cadburys Dairy Milk is AWESOME! I SO HOPE. YOU ARE GETTING OUR MESSAGES, AS OUR KIDS ARE REALLY REALLY. LOOKING FOREWORD TO MEETING YE ! God bless, and safe journeys!
I love that shirt on you Megan! So beautiful! I love how clean it is everywhere you go in your village and so pretty, even where the trash drop off is. Would be nice if America had similar villages to live in... lol.
It was an awesome experience. Maybe you could be here in 7 years for the next one. TV could not do it justice the air felt different, It was incredible.
Megan I would love if you could share some of the meals your family are preparing while in France. It would be amazing if you collected recipes from each place you visit and make for your family. I bet that if you put together a cookbook that many of your subscribers would buy one. Are you going to visit Belgium? That is where my Mom's side of the family is from. They are supposed to have some pretty amazing chocolate there too. Love from North Carolina (Surry Co.) ❤️❤️❤️👩🏼🍳👨🏽🍳👩🏽🌾🥐🥖🍫🍫
We watched the eclipse from the beach. It was great to watch it live in community. My daughter made a view, we had the glasses and welders masks. Even at only 70% here in Toronto it was pretty amazing.
While it's too bad you missed it, trust me, your adventures far outweigh the eclipse. There will always be eclipses, where as your experience is once in a lifetime! Good luck to all of you! My thoughts and prayers are with your family!
I had a dream last night that I was visiting you guys and I was in Elijah's room and his closet was full of American girl dolls and American girl doll clothes... we just dressed up dolls the whole time 😂😂
Izzy Elias Oh my gosh! I though I was the only one that dreams about them! I had a dream one night that they adopted me and I was part of the family! 😂😂😂
Just found your channel and have been binge watching. My dream is to travel in a motor home with my husband and kids. Loving your videos. Wishing you all the very best for your travels. Also I love your hair it's beautiful. Hope you love Ireland, I live in Belfast you should get a trip up. God Bless. X
The eclipse was so cool! I live in Carbondale IL the spot they had the longest totality and honestly it was like life changing. You guys need to see one in person! Make sure you are back state side in 7 years. Love watching you guys!
Here in Hawaii we have to take our trash and recycle to the transfer station. No curbside pickup. I took that for granted in AZ. I love your videos and your family. You are great parents!
It's amazing the things you notice when your live in a different country. I'm the UK where I'm from rubbish is collected from you, in France I'm my area it's the same, you take it there. I have seen them empty the bins before. There is a truck which comes and picks up the top of the bin, and the bit that's in the ground is basically a massive sack with a pull cord on the end. The truck rotates the massive sack round and then they pull the cord and the rubbish all ends up in the truck. Keep enjoying France, it's a lovely county :)
With cereal, people in France would never choose artificial sweet cereals like lucky charms so the only way to really get sweet cereal is to put chocolate in it :)
I can definitely understand not putting your trip off for a month, but if you are going to be in the USA in 2024, I recommend you see it in person! It was stunning and such a great day and energy from everyone! The diamond ring was amazing to see in person. My sister and I met in the path of totality and the next one occurs in our hometown! I'm super excited already! I love watching your family's adventures (even days at home!). Hope you all had a wonderful time at the beach!
It was awesome to watch! I'm from Ohio so we didn't get totality but still Very Cool! I couldn't find solar glasses anywhere they was sold out, so a nice family I waited on Sunday gave me two pair!!! So sweet of them and me and my family enjoyed the Eclipse together thanks to those lovely people. Loved that you guys got to enjoy it together as well. I'd have no complaints watching while in France😂😂
The eclipse was a mixed bag. Super cool to see, super interesting to mark the stages and changes around us. But *I* don't ever need to do that again. Made me feel so strange! Shudder
In a way, I'm in the same boat as your family. We live in the path of totality and I left on Sunday for Utah, a day before totality. My husband got amazing pictures and videos in our front yard! I was so sad! Going to education week at BYU was the trade off and it was worth it!
And i would also like to add that a couple of weeks ago i was telling my boyfriend whom ive been with for 5 yrs and we have a 2 yr old son and we were talking and i said if i could do anything i would love to adopt kids who need homes but i dont think they would let a 24 yr old (me) and a 27 yr old adopt children Especially a non married couple. But i found you guys and i admire what yall are doing :)
Just to let y'all know, Phyllis Stokes has an amazing vlog out about what the birds, insects, and streetlights did in their yard while the eclipse was going on, in South Carolina. They were concerned for their camera, because they didn't have the proper filter. Oh!!! And I loved Bing Crosby's White Christmas!! Have fun at the beach!!
you guys are getting really good at french. the way my french teacher does is constant repetition. start using the french words for other things and practicing conversations is super important. make sure to review often so it sticks good but you guys are doing really well!
As a european, I'm jealous too of the americans who were able to witness the eclips. We had a partial one in Belgium a while ago and I would love to see a total eclips. I hope you have some footage of the beach visit, I would love to see that !!
I was luckily in the totality zone of the eclipse. It was so breathtaking. There is another one that's gunna happen on april of 2024 in the us. That way the kids can see it in person.
I live in the path of totality for the eclipse, but still missed it because there was a heavy thunderstorm going on right at the time! So, yeah...I watched it on TV, too.
Omigosh! I can't imagine being without my oils for so long! I had forgotten that yours were stolen. That reminds me of a QUESTION: isn't the heat of the car bad for them? I have always heard to store them cool and dark.
We didn't even know there was an eclipse unless you bought the glasses that look like 3D glasses and looked up, but it looked nothing like you saw, here in Az. Certain areas were better than others.
I watched the total eclipse from my house in Oregon. Leading up to it we (and 10s of thousands coming to Oregon to see it) didn't know if we would be able to see it due to wildfire smoke(which has been the worst I've seen) or because of clouds... Bc it' isOregon... But the day of the eclipse the skies cleared until that night when the smoke started to come back in! 🙏🏻🙏🏻. it was pretty cool! I thought totality would last longer, and that it would be darker. When totality was nearing it kept getting a little darker, it was odd. Totality happened, and you could hear neighbors all around cheering. It was kinda like dusk:sunset with a 360 degree sunset. After that it got VERY bright, the bright white ring.. (I'm bad at explaining) but everyone has seen pics and videos of it. Where I live it was the path of totality. Thousands of ppl came just to my smaller town.. it was a madhouse downtown. You might of as well walked Bc cars weren't going anywhere! (I stayed home, this is what I heard). My parents were going to drive around after and see what it was like through town (how busy it was). They came back after a cpl min. Bc there were lines of cars for miles in every direction. This comment is way to long 😜
Unless you were in a area of totality for the eclipse it was not anything viewable really without glasses on. I became interested about the garbage bins you had in this video. I found a video on bins that looked like them in a Swiss community and some are on hydraulics under ground and some have a truck that pulls it up out of the ground. Very interesting.
If you ever get the chance to see a total solar eclipes in person do! We live on the oregon coast right now and were in the path of totality . Honestly it was one of the best experinces in my life. Witnessing the light change, feeling the temperature drop dramatically in a matter of minutes, and the beauty of the eclipse itself was un real. Im not sure what I expected but the entire event surpassed anything a I could have dreamed.
Mmmm..Chocolate croissants! My son and I (in Maryland) watched the reflection of the Eclipse in a bucket of water. It's cool to see it on the Internet, but you miss out on the stillness and all around you becoming dark in the middle of the afternoon. The goat across the street has been bleating (very loudly!) "HELP" since the start of the Eclipse. Very strange.... Happy travels! :))
I think that is a french thing. We are in France as well right now and are a little bit confused :D In germany they pic everything up except of old glasbottles ...
I'm not sure if it's just me (or rather the teacher in me) but I'm curious as to which subjects all of the kids choose to study and what the older kids plan on doing in the future. We know Elijah is studying Japanese, but what else is he working on and what are the other kids studying? Are there mandatory core subjects, like maths and English, that they have to do? I find the way you let your children learn so intriguing. It's not your usual style, but I'd love a video on this if there isn't one already 😁
well, a total eclipse happens every 18 months some where around the world. The next one is Chile/Argentina in 2018 maybe you can catch one during your travels.
So the dumpsters, to empty them a truck comes by and pulls the whole thing out of the ground and when the dumpster is above the truck the bottom of the dumpster will open and all the garbage falls out into the truck. (This also means the dumpster is bigger than the thing you see, it continues in the ground, so once every couple of months, depends on the amount of waste, the truck will come by) I hope this explanation cleared things up! Love your videos! Are you guys planning on visiting Amsterdam (The Netherlands) by the way?
The image you create in a 15 min video is absolutely awesome and the story feels real to me too. But how are you guys able to afford this kind of lifestyle, could someone please tell me, i'm fairly new to this channel.
I love your guys' videos so much! You guys are such an inspiration in literally everything you do! Sorry you guys missed the eclipse, but in my opinion, traveling all around Europe is 100x better! I live in Portland, OR, where we had like 99% totality and it wasn't "worth the hype"😂Anyway! Happy travels!❤️
Tell the kids in ohio it only got dark like before a thunderstorm. And don't worry it was hard to get the glasses unless you ordered in advance. Our school was starting so I was busy with that and my college ager also. The cereal box was hard to see so we all ended up watching it on TV after a few minutes outside. I think you had to be in the totality spots in us for it to be better. You were better off being in france.
Chocolate in Europe is infinitely better than anything you'll ever taste in America. Enjoy it al!!
I am Claire ...that's why America bought Cadbury's! 😜
We have some fabulous chocolate shops in Houston. And I've had wonderful artisan chocolates in just about all the major cities I have visited. Even See's Candies is pretty darn good!
If you think American chocolate is good you have never tasted real Belgian chocolate. American chocolate just taste weird if you ask me
I'm not one to comment on RUclips videos, but I just really wanted to say how much your videos make me smile! I just took my MCAT (a 7+ hour medical exam) and spent the last 12 weeks with my nose in a book 9-5 every day, but your videos never failed to give me a much needed break from all the material. I love you guys, thank you for sharing your lives with all of us! :)
To make up for the missed eclipse, you should go somewhere in Scandinavia to see the Northern Lights. I'm sure you all would love it.
Esther is pretty - gorgeous healthy hair and a charming smile. Plus an extremely helpful young lady.
As ever, I'm enjoying the Knorpp family's take on the world! Thanks for sharing and continued journey mercies!
That is AWESOME how they do the trash and recycling! I am interested in knowing how they get to it as well!
AH, a month without oils!! Oh, my!!! Oh cool, you all did get to see the diamond ring!! That was awesome to see!
Wait until you taste the Swiss chocolate. So nice and really the best. Greetings from Zurich.
Hazel Frei-Selby yes it's way better I feel like (and I'm French^^)
Hazel Frei-Selby , we LOVE Zurich! We're coming for our third visit next August. And yes, Swiss chocolate is THE best, hands down!
The Wandering Wife Where are you folks from. There are many choclate factories where you can see it being made and also you can buy it at a cheaper price. Yes Zurich is lovely and most people here speak English as well.
It just an expensive country but exceptionally beautiful.
Great video intro, guys! Your videos always make me smile :)
The dumpsters are 5 meters deep under ground. And they have a metal inside that they can lift. And when it hangs above the truck the bottom can flap open. They are pretty nifty 🙄
Openne??? That was so cute! It's ouvert! 😘

You can't really have it not break I think haha
Andrea Moore well actually it is supposed to break. You sometimes also may have different containers for different coloured glass. It's then taken to a factory and melted to create new bottles and jars. We only take glass to disposal containers. In my countries they do pick up the garbage twice a week. Every second tuesday they take your organic waste. And on the remaining tuesdays they take your residual waste. Every other thursday they take the paper and on the remaining thursdays they take your plastics. Also if you put stuff that does not belong in one of those bins they won't take it and leave a note and warning to watch your recycling. I'm so happy your getting your oils. Looks like your starting to settle in there in France. Loving your videos
I live in Columbia SC, so I goto to watch the total eclipse from the comfort of my university sorority house!!! So wonderful that y'all at least got to watch it on the internet!! It was such a beautiful and cool thing to experience.
We live Festus, MO and it was so clear that day. It was hands down the coolest thing I've ever seen. We'll never forget it.
You uploaded yasss!! I started watching two days ago and ever since i've been binge watching your videos at night before I go to sleep XD
We made a pinhole viewfinder out of a cereal box to view the eclipse. So happy for you guys getting your essential oils back:))
Wish you were able to post more:((
Pearl running for the chocolate cake...her and I could be best buds. Lol ...as long as we both have our own chocolate cake of course 😂😂😍
Seeing my friends back home all get together to go boating and paddleboarding and then the eclipse hype finally gave me my first bit of "awww, bummer, I'm missing out." I really love to see elijah and eve moments together. They're so cute 😍
Elijah and jude too 😍
We traveled 6 hours to see the full eclipse, it was fantastic! Don't worry, another one is headed to the United States in 7 years!
While it's too bad you missed it, trust me, your adventures far outweigh the eclipse. There will always be eclipses, where as your experience is once in a lifetime! Good luck to all of you! My thoughts and prayers are with your family!

Izzy Elias Oh my gosh! I though I was the only one that dreams about them! I had a dream one night that they adopted me and I was part of the family! 😂😂😂
Izzy Elias I had a dream that I was at some kind of music festival with them, but I didn't feel well, so they brought me food.

I only had to drive 45 miles to see the total eclipse. It was an experience I will never forget.
We watched it in SLC, UT, some of our friends went to Idaho where they could see it better. It was a strange event.
Here in Hawaii we have to take our trash and recycle to the transfer station. No curbside pickup. I took that for granted in AZ. I love your videos and your family. You are great parents!
wow Maegan seems to be looking so gorgeous every latest video you post..👍😜

I absolutely love your shirt Megan! It looks great on you as well!
I love that shirt, too. Super cute!
with your van and your oils you seem to be in better spirits.
Could you do a video of you going to the beach please?

Our area in So Utah was a TOTAL eclipse....for hours.....it was super cloudy.
But, hey, they will be more.
The eclipse was a mixed bag.

Seeing you guys doing your French lessons reminded me of my GCSE French lessons. 😂😂
Megan, where is your shirt from? It's really cute and I'd like to get one for myself.
The mom seems kind of depressed about being in France.... did something happen or is she just tired.
Well, you also missed Hurricane Harvey! So maybe it's not such a bad thing to be out of Texas right now.
Your grocery Store looks like a big HEB or Walmart.
I love your family so much 🌼your all so inspiring
In central Ohio it was so hazy we couldn't see it either!! LOL we had to watch it on TV or someone's video.
I console myself with the thought that dark chocolate is good for you. It's the moderation part I have trouble with. ;-)
Esther is so sweet!
This is exactly how it worked when I was in Paris.
For a second I thought that you said weren't big fans of recycling haha 🤷♀️
yeayyyy, tq for update you vlog. I waited for so long ( sorry for ky English. im malaysian
Seems awesome to be able to have French lessons as a family.
I'm in Phoenix as and we didn't see it here either. Believe me I would rather be in France than see the eclipse. Thank you for taking me to France.
I did not get to see the eclipse either, i was in the hospital when is started. Maybe i will get to see it next time
Remember that there is a solar eclipse somewhere in the world every year. A bit of research and you can grab the next one.
Hi knorps when are you in England and where abouts?
First lol. Love your videos btw
When are you travelling to ireland?
The image you create in a 15 min video is absolutely awesome and the story feels real to me too. But how are you guys able to afford this kind of lifestyle, could someone please tell me, i'm fairly new to this channel.
I love your guys' videos so much! You guys are such an inspiration in literally everything you do! Sorry you guys missed the eclipse, but in my opinion, traveling all around Europe is 100x better! I live in Portland, OR, where we had like 99% totality and it wasn't "worth the hype"😂Anyway! Happy travels!❤️
Esther is such a great sister! :)
I looked at the Eclipse for 15 seconds and I burned my retinas permanently. My central vision is white and blurry now.
Does Elijah like blind girls???
I love Chocolate!!!!! You guys are soo lucky eat it while you can! 😉
What vlog was it where Eve is holding the alligator in the intro?
Tell the kids in ohio it only got dark like before a thunderstorm. And don't worry it was hard to get the glasses unless you ordered in advance. Our school was starting so I was busy with that and my college ager also. The cereal box was hard to see so we all ended up watching it on TV after a few minutes outside. I think you had to be in the totality spots in us for it to be better. You were better off being in france.
I thought open was ouvert? But maybe its different in France than Québec.
