Interesting video Paul, I was amazed when you said decommissioned in 03 I was thinking in the 30s or something. Amazing how quickly nature takes over

just found your channel, we used to swim back in the 70s in both these reservoirs there is also one that lies between these two that people still swim in today.

How was that 2 weeks ago. It was so cold - no wonder I was walking around like C-3PO with seized up joints. Great mini explore though and absolutely loved the boathouse!!!

The boathouse was great wasn't it

Why did they decommission it, when England badly needs water supplies? They need more reservoirs not less!

Gonna have to visit here again. Was nice seeing it a few months ago with snow on the floor though, even if I didn't see that Shrike I went to look for 😂 I'd never have thought it got decommissioned so recently.

Good video , that's a favourite walk. I park at Shilito Wood and walk up to Barbrook and then across to Ramsley. Didn't know about the boathouse. I'll look for that next time. Did you find the ruins of the house above the reservoir.

      Cheers Tony.
We didn't do the lodge house this time.
The weather deteriorated quickly and it was about to get dark, so have to save it for another day.

Visited this last summer when it wasn't so boggy, on the lookout for adders actually as I'd seen this reservoir on a "Solitary Rambler" video and noticed the warning signs. Didn't find any by the way 😂 Amazed it was only decommissioned "recently" but yes, quite small and unassuming.

They are probably good at staying out of the way and hidden. Thankfully 😄.
Would love to see one though. It's a great little spot isn't it.
