How to bungee launch large RC sailplane, review of details

- I have compiled in this video what I believe is important to have a successful launch. This method is proven, safe and avoid any stress on the boom of the sailplane. Big bonus as the release mechanism is ahead of the hook, there is no risk for the line to wrap arround the tail of the sailplane.

les powell and myself are anxious to give them a try.. thank you for both building one for each of us but also for the time to perfect the bungee launch for large powered gliders it is much preferred over the rolling dolly when on grass only areas........dolly works fine on ashfault but too risky on grass............see you soon for pick up mid december

Okay I've pretty much completed mine. It all fits inside a bucket. I deviated on the release stake making it from a 38mm wide flat steel. My theory is it won't rotate and will hold the correct angle for the quick release. Thanks again for working out all these measurements, Stephane.

Thank you for the video. It was great to watch. As someone interested in getting into scale gliders. I learnt a lot. Where can the quick release be picked up from?
Look for a snap shackle. They are available at marine shops and are used for spinnaker sails.
I used an "L" hook at the bottom of the aircraft and a key ring loop at the end of the bungy. Came off every time it reached the apex. Works like a charm. No release needed.
Did you add the motor on that Salto or is that a kit?
It has a motor! Why not just throw it?
How does one buy the right numerical tension weight when the hobby shops sell tubing by small, medium, and large?
How are you making the hook on the aircraft mate.

I'm not sure I get it, why not spin up the prop and throw it? 🤷♂️ That's what I do..
That's pretty complicated for the typical power flower to get the hang of ...especially using a reprobate brain ..
This is too painful to watch ,..the audio is terrible
Whenever I use a bungee, I go for as steep a start as possible without looping, a bit like flying a kite. I don’t use a quick release or measure the stretch distance, just hope I don’t break anything or pull the wings off!
