Big fan of Flying Lizards 'Top Ten' album, and never knew there was actual videos for the songs. Thanks to Televandalist and RUclips for making history everyday, and the forgotten greats always memorable.
The Flying Lizards recorded one of the creepiest instrumentals I've ever heard. If someone out there in RUclipsland could upload "The Flood", it would be a welcome addition to these F.L. songs.
Awesome!! I have a bunch of VHS tapes from the 80 (that I sadly lost over the years) and this was one of the tracks that I used to watch endlessly with my brother. Love it!!
Wow! This makes me dizzy too - in the nicest possible way! This band deserves a revival and recognition of what a great contribution they made to creative music.
OnceWasRStrathfield LOL :) Sadly, I can absolutey confirm that I am NOT David Cunningham and clearly not Deborah Evans-Stickland! As to whether the Americans really did walk on the moon . . .
dig that antigravity! the Flying Lizards are wonderful. they remind me of hearing the lyrics to the Stones' 'Satisfaction' read as if by a stiff British stage actor, sometime back around 1970, and thinking it was the funniest thing I'd ever heard.
This is almost as good as "TV". Very underrated band who got ignored as a novelty project when they were actually experimental. The release of "Money" was good commercially but paradoxically bad for future exposure - all in all that may have been down to poor management. Ah well, I'm now in my early fifties and witnessed their arrival via TOTP and yes, I still dig 'em ....man
They had several tricks up their sleeves. They made some very original songs on their first two albums. Songs like 'Hands 2 Take", "TV" and ""Glide/Spin", that were very different from the deadpan corny coversongs. They had their roots in avantgarde and brougt avantgarde ideas into pop music.
How postmodernism could be fun and clever ? Flying Lizards just match the right point between art and rock'n'roll playing just a creativ attitude toward sound and images with fuzzy and unpredictable promotionnal strategy. FL are rares, clever and giftful with a variation size partcipation. Three females singers and a few focus creation. They are a step stone in Occidental creation of late xxth century, bringing postmodernism to a humorus and creativ attitude.
It's been about twenty eight years now, and she still looks good...ish. Well, I'd do her. When I saw all that upside down stuff I remembered watching this video on a late night video show around 1980.
One of the most underrated bands of the 80's
Your right so underrated this song was concerned lost media 🤣
Seriously.
Big fan of Flying Lizards 'Top Ten' album, and never knew there was actual videos for the songs. Thanks to Televandalist and RUclips for making history everyday, and the forgotten greats always memorable.

Beyond avant garde, abstract surreal , more Flying Lizards please!
I agree because once they get started on something amazing they just gave up
Wonderful!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

be truthful. you're the guy playing the piano in the clip and you're giving yourself a pat on the back.
OnceWasRStrathfield LOL :)

I heard this group when I lived in the East Village in the 1970s. I reviewed their first release in my zine.

I love this version.
The sound is a classic.

This is almost danceable! Cool.
Unbelievable
this one is great
Weird theme with creative masterpiece. 😁
This was from the movie "Hiding Out" around 1980 (scene where they are making out in the Suzuki)
I believe 1986. Kieth Coogan always cracked me up.
Fantastic! Never saw this at the time.
If you like this you may also enjoy 'B' by Colin Newman.
They really rock! :D
It reminds me of the SCTV skit with Eugene Levy doing Bob Dylan sings every song ever written. They were a one trick pony.
@@ulfjohannesson8036 True, it’s just that they’re remembered for Money. Kind of like Trio with Da Da Da. Sabine Sabine Sabine was way funnier.
It was Rick Moranis doing Gordon Lightfoot singing every song ever written... And doing a mighty fine job at it.
Love
Way Cool....!
They literally turned that song upside down ❤
MTV.......Come back!!!!!!!!!
flying lizards ftw!!
Still as wacky as it was when I saw it 33 years ago :)
The non-upside version. Very good.
Better than the Beatles.
James Banner better than jesus
...and, Little*Richard even...!!
The people who don't like it, doesn't understand. You got to know to get it. Reply back if you need to know, I got the answer. It's European
It’s experimental rock music
Amigos Mios.
… rock on eh…..better🎉 than the Beatles !!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know if Debbie Evans-Stickland is related or married, to any of the band?
Have you heard Benny Benassi/Love is gonna save us. Sounds like an affected
version.
Everything you could ask for, but where's the song?
This sounds way different than the song we found.

@eworlds Please look at my punk movie from this period, GIRL PACK. Tell me what you think. Type in Lisa Falour, please. No wait, that is an order.
Stop the hotness!
Only England could make The Flying Lizards
