Music: Eagle Squadron March, Holyrood March, Dambusters March, 633 Squadron March
Military Tattoo 's-Hertogenbosch 2005 Развлечения
My Dad was in the Central Band of the RAF for 12 years. He died last Tuesday so it was good to watch this and remember all the events I watched him play at.
The 'coveralls', 'tin pot helmet' and puttees (sp) were a give-away.
GREAT SHOW. I wish I could have seen it in person.
Thanks for sharing.
actually, the uniform was WW2 battle dress not coveralls
Many don't realize this, but this March is a salute to America! The Eagle Squadron March, was written in appreciation of the American volunteer fighter pilots in WWII, Known as the Eagle Squadrons, RAF. (squadrons 72, 121, 133)
don't know if anyone noticed but they were doing rifle drill for both Enfield 303 and SA-80 at the same time..... Marvelous !
Fantastic! Prima!
BRILLIANT!
the best version of the dambusters march
My sincerest and deepest condolences on your loss. Many thanks to your father for his service to Queen and Country in the RAF.
Wow this is amazing... I wish some of my ATC sqn could do drill half as well as this!
Anyone else here think that Britain does the greatest drill in the world? Nobody pulls it off quite as well as the RAF. As close to drill perfection as one can get.
Yeah it was done in the Netherlands.
Beautiful performance from the British.
Possibly one of the best videos on youtube.
I have had the honour of seeing and hearing them live, as well as Standard bearing alongside them as a cadet :D
ended abruptly with 633 Sqn march.Very enjoyable, especially with them wearing different era uniforms.I bet they loved wearing the Hairy Mary battle dress.!!
The 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony should feature a performance by the Massed Bands of HM Armed Forces, featuring the Guards bands, the RM bands and the Central Band of the RAF.
God Bless His Soul I Bet You Was Very Proud Of Him.
I am pleased to say that only the Brits can do this kind of thing with the same pomp and ceremony.
That is one incredible Drill Routine, WD Lads
nothing beats the QCS and the continuity drill for shear perfection - unlike most other services here and abroad - absolutely no commands and still perfect
Wow, even coming from the navy, this was pretty damn good, well done fellas!
So true the QCS best drill team in the world cannot wait to join the Reg
Top Notch!
Awesome
impressive, perfect formation.I've never had a chance to see some soldiers parade in my country
Great entree!:D Love this band!:) Very good sound
The QCS the best drill squad you'll every come across
Thats a point, and it does seem to be in a large arena, thus echos are likely.
A great video & drill show-to think of as to how much training must have gone behind these drills,it is amazing.People feel secure &appreciate watching these shows periodically but tend to FORGET their SACRIFICES on battle fields Though we have come a long way in the art of warfare, what is the scenario of future warfare?- A ROBOTIC ONE?!This will drastically reduce human losses on battlefields.
No, use of robots just mean more dead civilians. Give me real men any day. At least they can make moral choices.
Nice !
the Queen Colour Squadron are the best in the world, there hold the world record for the most drill moves in 24 hrs
i guess that the queens colour squadron will now be called the kings colour squadron.
@Polaris543 440 1st Manx, It was a Royal Parade (Isle of Man Governor as queen representative)
It was pretty awesome :)
The brillcream boys do a good job well done
Very good
Hey
im joining the RAF Reg after college up to Honnington in febuary for work experience but sadly to say you are right on that but i dont mind
I ordered the music to this march many years ago - all the trombone parts were in tenor clef.
Godspeed to the american airmen of the eagle squadron, thank you for your service
it was in 2005 at a tatto in the netherlands
So much owed by so many to so few, super drill team RAF., Could have had more lights on !! Kenmuires Canada
I wish I was good enough for their band.
Maybe cause Eagle Squadron and Holyrood were written by Kenneth Alford AKA Major Fredrick Joseph Rickets RM (Royal Marines)
No, but the DVD from this event is still available in the dutch tattoo shop.
So epic, I think it's damaged my computer.
@NinjaNoobTurtle NO WAY!! What squadron are you at!? I'm at 93! Best ATC marching band in the country! I would love to be allowed to carry a banner with them!!
Britain!!!
Smoother than Brylcreem ! Go R A F !
How old is this show? I was an admin clerk for the Queen's Colour Squadron (QCS)way back in the 70s. They always did a great show.
@trombonedan1994 I confused it with another march and believed it to be another one! Thanks anyway!
A much louder bang when the smellies let go we done chaps Good Show Bang on and all that!!! you do yourselves proud
The first piece of music is "Eagle Squadron"
RAF are the best in the world, followed by the Royal Marines and then the others.....
The best is the QCS, The best in the world at this type of event... and more. R.I.S.E Above the rest.
Calling the command "By the Centre" is standard for drill performances and parades. By the Left or Right is hardly used now unless its in teaching.
Bare in mind Carl, Ethan is a young Drum Major, compared to this one who is around twice his age!
And congratulations on winning Corps again.
WE're playing the song from 2:39 in band, its called Holyrood, i like it
@TehRicc This would be amazing, the perfect opening ceremony. Top it off with the Red Arrows! I do hope they include at least some of our military bands, they are just so brilliant, and would be a shame not to show them off.
Please have a look to the german drillteam of the wachbatailon.
My condolences on the loss of your father. Grief is universal, I'm an American, but I know for a fact that as time passes the sting of death will grow less and less. Hang on to the good memories, they help. I couldn't tell, those Enfields, were they No.4's or No.1's? The whole show was very impressive.
@IconicLobster i think it's either royal air force march past or eagle squadron, not sure tho
@Carlo D i believe that its the Netherlands
Song at 2:35 memories of my passing out at Halton..
and who wouldn't want to be the central drum major...
MASSED BANDS, BY THE CENTRE, QUICK - MARCH!
Hey, that's the theme from 663 Squadron!
63 sqadron Queens Colour Sqadron best drill display team in the world.
they are still at RAF Uxbridge right
@StudebakerHawk57 Correction: 633 Sqadron. Cheers!
What you missing is the big applause and the leaving with music. This viedeo sequence would be less then one minute and not enough for upload in a video.
whats the first tune tha band play
does anyone have or know of a copy of the Queens Colour Squadron, performing in the 2005 Military Tattoo in Sydney, Australia??
I know Ethan, bit hard not to being a former cadet in East Lancs!! And I'm sure I've seen you around...
wow. think about this... these people are now ten years older!! ○=○
You can omit the word "proper".
Let's set the standard where it should be. :)
Well done
what sqadron?? and wing??
and i want to be RAF Reg
Anyone know the name of the first march?
@coolyflash I was refering to the band lad
@weewulliebee hrmacQuacken needs to be shown what an sa 80 rifle with bayonet can do at close quaters, then he may change his views
same on my sqn
@bigboredthing Oh I dunno, I think the Guards and HM Royal Marines are pretty good too. One thing we Americans have that the US hasn't, though, is the silent drilling.
The audio is one second ahead of the video..any chance of a re-upload?
@weewulliebee It was a tattoo in the Netherlands and I've blocked HRMacQuacken since a couple of days.
tht's wut she said
Hey - does anyone know what the song is that they first march out to? it was my march out song in the RAAF 18 years ago (still in!). We were told at the time that it was the "RAAF march' but I'm not too sure.
Eagle Squadron
@trombonedan1994 Thanks, check out "Royal British Legion Youth Band Brentwood". My band, just amateur and youth but Supreme National Champions since 92! There aren't many great videos up unfortunately
@TehRicc That would be great and the band of the Rifles doing the 100m quicker than the athletes lol
great vid tho
What country is this? The RAF
compare them which the usmc band
@Crusadist1099
Try the US Marine Corp Rifle Drill Team. You find it impressive.
no way near as good as the Queens Colour Squadron
The ATC drill isnt exactly the same as the RAF, and I've never in my 3 years in cadets been mistaken as RAF. I doubt a RAF WO will mistake us for one of his squadron lmao
Just by watching a whole load of videos of British soldiers/guards marching. :D
Also, it didn't seem right to me anyway.
I guess it's just preference but I do prefer the Bands of the Brigade of Guards.
@StudebakerHawk57 Not Sqadron... SQUADRON. Erh!
i wish i was british...
England yes but it's actually all the home nations - aka the United Kingdom.
I dunno about the beat, the video/audio are slightly out of synch.
search for "precision drill" b4 u made ur comment, see what the RAF can do.
Ah, that explains the small excerpt from the US anthem then.
I hate it when these things are badly edited. The sound is out of sync...they're all on the wrong foot! Excellent display though...QCS def smartest unit in the UK.
@NinjaNoobTurtle Tyndwald day
Good luck in Iraq, boys!
great show but I think the headdresses of the band don't quite fit an air force that originated in the 20th century. They ought to wear caps similar to those of the drill team.
Otherwise, well done!
LOL they got the beat wrong (left foot falls on the strong drum beat)
