Yes! Thanks for sharing your haul. We don't get yarn in our Aldis in the US so it is nice to live vicariously through you. I could feel the excitement about getting them late that night- great job!
I'm glad you posted about the US. I live about 25 miles from our closest Aldi's and only get there a couple of times a year. So now I don't need to worry about getting across the mountain in the snow.
I went to Aldi last night and got 3 cakes of blue ombre - that was all they had left in that shade. 4 x black Aran, 4 x blue Aran, 3 pink (I think it looks more like a pale mauve) and 3 coral. Not sure if I've bought enough to make a sweater with but I'm very small, size 4 - 6. Probably enough to make summer tops though. I only took up crochet at the beginning of December by following YT instruction videos. So far I've made a shell stitch scarf (Christmas present), 2 doily placemats with matching coasters in cotton, a doily made from scrap wool which came out really well so will be making more in cotton, probably as gifts and made my first piece of fine lace in DMC Petra 8. Not bad for a 68 year old newbie, proving you're never too old to learn a new skill. Really loving crochet. I'm also a good knitter and dressmaker but crochet was the one that eluded me - until now. Subscribed. Almost forgot - I also made a beanie hat.
True l was so excited the day l found a lots and lots of specials and colours lovely too … me going shopping too Monday cause there is always something new .. it’s so so exciting… Witney Oxfordshire England
SOOOOO JEALOUS!!! here in the us, my local aldi does NOT have yarn. plus i'm taking apart old projects which were all odd ball abandoned attempts at making an afghan with finger weaving. i'll keep the patches together but i'm scrapping the overall project. if you've never done fingerweaving, it makes long strips of fabric and really good looking diagonal stripes and chevrons. i've also seen lightning bolt patterns but i've never been able to recreate those. i already put one strip around my neck to see if it would make a good scarf, and it does. i need to trim the ends a bit more though. that chunky looks like it would make fantastic hats on a knitting loom. I've got a green and white one made with wool-eese thick and quick. it's a wool acrylic blend. a long time ago I used green and white to make a beginners fair isle scarf and a funky looking hat with a fringe on the top seam that kind of looks like a mohawk, but doesn't stick up. I got tired of the same old top.
I jumped out of bed this morning like I had been shot out of a cannon! I told my husband we needed to get to Aldi before everything was gone! We got there at 8:30 this morning and I loaded up a trolley! 41 balls of yarn. I got a lot of the cakes. I may go back tomorrow to see if they have that dark dk yellow. I need some of that. I didn't notice any while I was there but I was focused on the cakes and the roving yarns. I was back home by 9am and happy as a pig in mud! I can't thank you enough for the heads up about the yarn!! You are a shining star!!
I went yesterday at 9.00 am! There were a group of woman (of a similar age I must admit) gathered round cooing over the yarn. I wanted to shout "step away from that yarn!", but I didn't... I meekly inserted myself and shopped till I dropped. Went home, got a brew and manged to stuff it all out of sight in the corner of the wardrobe so my current husband doesn't notice that I've added to my already substantial stash. x

I popped to Aldi this morning on my way home from working a night shift and have got a few bits for my craft fairs at the end of the year to make hats with and some other yarn to practice knitting (as I’m a crocheter) 😄
New subscriber here from Ohio, USA🎉! You are a breath of fresh air… found your channel by accident and loved your Aldi video…..I’ll live vicariously through you on the Aldi yarn, but I certainly will keep looking for it here. Your haul was wonderful. Have a great day!
Beautiful... Looking at your video... Enjoyed it.. a little expensive in Sri Lanka... Since I'm at the moment in Australia.. will lookout for these in Aldi.. thank you so much ... Happy crocheting...
You sound like you are Scottish. My son moved to Glasgow a few years ago because his wife is Scottish. He loves it there. God bless you. I love yarn too and I did not think Aldi sold it but I will check our stores. Thanks again.
I enjoyed your video loved seeing all the yarn and all the pretty colour's i'm disabled stock in bed got nurses comeing out to me every day got a bad bedsore which had gone down to the bone but has started to heal so i can hardley go out to painfull in my wheelchair so watching your video brightend my day i felt like i was there with you haveing fun picking what colour's i'm liveing down in swansea when went to aldi's back in september they didn't have any yarn i was so disappointed look foward to your next video ❤
Thank you for the heads up! I don’t get to Aldi that often and was blissfully unaware a yarn special buy was starting. Needless to say a few balls of Khaki dk were picked up along with my cottage cheese!
Ohhhhhh lovely colours. Really like your choices. I have plenty from previous visits that I've not used yet so I'll be good. Thank you for sharing your video 😍😍 xx
I just want to say a huge thank you for this and your previous Aldi video. Having the details in advance helped me to work out what I wanted in advance, so I could buy for specific projects and not just to feed the stash 😂 much appreciated ❤
I asked last night, and they said no. By the time I got there today, the cakes were wiped out! Got some roving in the same colours as you to try and some black and white aran. I will try another tomorrow. We only have 2, one 6 and one 15 miles away. Thank you for sharing
Hi Amore , I have been to Aldi today and got some of the roving yarn you saw .it’s crocheting up lovely so soft and silky, I got the pink and I am making a little girls hat . Wish I could send you a photo to show you how its looking. Love your videos, thanks for letting me know the wool was back . Liz xx
Oh wow... I am from Ireland and the roving yarn looks much more silky here!!! I bought loads of it because it has no fuzz and is super soft and silk like. And the price 😮 I paid 3 euros per skein , it's only 1.99 in pounds
Hi ! In Aldi in FRANCE, we don't have all this sort of yarns !! and no cake at all (I love cakes for crochet) . Only small yarns . You're luckyyyyyyy !!!Azurite
I love seeing the squooshy acrylics you found. Nice variety. But don't I understand some of the comments that suggest living vicariously through someone else for yarn. We're not exactly a 3rd world country 😂 We have identical budget yarns in numerous physical venues. Dollar Tree carries the very same soft acrylics in the same solid colors. Some tweeds too, everything $1.25 per skein. Walmart, Joann, Michael's, Hobby Lobby, all have budget-friendly yarn and nicer blends, too. Just purchased 100% Wool today from Joann's. We have LYS too, if you want mostly natural fibers and bougie variety. We all have Etsy. Anyway, liked and subscribed! Your energy is infectious ❤ East Coast, U.S.A.
I never thought of crocheting as a sport, I should have my letterman jacket by now bcuz I'm definitely a marathon crocheter. Why does UK Aldi carry yarn but USA Aldi does not? C'mon Aldi !
That's my Aldi! 😁 Love the drive thru Greggs there. I just got some black Aran, roving yarn in natural, and some of the white baby from there! I'm excited for the roving yarn.
I absolutely find this fascinating! I have always seen things pop up that you can only find at Aldi’s, and I never knew where they were located. But by your beautiful accent, it’s the UK. They look like they have lots of fun colors to choose from. ☺️
Your Aldi's is so much bigger than ours in the USA! I'm going to run out to check if mine has this yarn and your moisturizer. Thank you for your video!❤
Thanks for the heads up for this yarn event, I was a little late to the game last time and the shelves were in a sorry state. I was determined to get the yarn cakes this time and bagged 4 of each in three shades and pink and the springtime colour in the roving yarn more than happy and like you got what I needed. It is now neatly stacked away, ready to go 🧶😀
Went into my local (Walkden, Manchester) expecting it to be all gone with it being Friday but to my surprise they were restocking with more. Got myself 6 rainbow, 3 green, 3 blue for £1.29 each. I love a bargain & never knew Aldi sold yarn. Thanks to your video ill be watching out for more bargains 😊
That Aldi is HUGE! Ours is so much smaller so we don't get a lot of those seasonal items here in the US. We are in Kentucky. We do shop there all the time though because the prices are nice.
A fellow Geordie? I'm an Aussie Geordie. Aldi here in Aus only puts out yarn maybe once a year, and then it's only very basic yarn. Just had your video pop up in my feed, so I'll go check out some of your other vids. 😊
Lovely haul, we went this morning and I was the only one buying yarn, I don’t use the chunky, so I bought baby yarn, Aran and the roving also 1 ball of yellow dk 🎉
Didn't know Aldi sold yarn this would be awesome, only Aldi store close to me is in Morristown, Tennessee. I haven't been to the store lately but going to check this out. Thanks for sharing your yarn haul.
Just come back from ours. They only had the super chunky and the baby yarn. No cakes, no DK and no Aran. They haven't sold out - they just didn't have any. I did get 4 of the super chunky in that fabulous pink colour - sooooooo soft and squishy! I also bought 3 of the pink multi, 1 plain pink and 2 of the blue multi in the 'baby yarn' as I want enough to do a big stripy blanket or something, and I already have 2 or 4 of most of the colours plus about 6 of the plain white. It does feel a bit thinner this time, though, so I hope it works with the rest of my stash.
Just found your video. I haven't tried any aldi yarn but the lidl sock yarn is lovely. Like you I struggle wearing wool garments but have recently started using superwash wool and its lovely and soft and very nice next to skin to wear.
WOW WOW WOW!!!🎉🎉🎉 How wonderful that your Aldi's carry yarn! After watching your video I am writing our corporate office to ask our Aldi's to start carrying yarn! I can't believe how pretty it is and the prices our fantastic! I wonder what the price difference would be here across the pond? Thank you for sharing with us, I love seeing new Yarn's and I adore that dark purple and green you showed, my 2 favorite colors together and it looks gorgeous! What brand is that one? Take care, Luv&Hugs,❤Kel's Crochet Corner❤
People buying loads of yarn only to go and sell on Ebay or Vinted. Aldi yarns aren't that great anyway - too harsh and full of knots. I will stick with my online yarns. Americans are not missing much, your brands are far superior, trust me.
@@CassiaCraftsthere are plenty of craft stores aside from Joann and they ship. It really is not that big of a deal. They also sell yarn at Walmart, Dollar Tree and Ollie's. And many other places I can't think of off the top of the head. It really isn't the crisis you make it out to be. Even in rural areas. There are also plenty of online stores too. I have also reclaimed yarn from thrifted sweaters. I am disabled and live in a rural area. I would hardly consider it a crisis that Joann is closing some store. They aren't all closing. And this isn't even their first bankruptcy.
@CassiaCrafts I actually go to Michael's and Hobby Lobby. I never even been to Joann's. I live in USA. I can also order online. Not that much of a big deal for me personally ❤
@@SetsunaMeiou-SailorPluto i dont have Ollies on my side of the US, i refuse to shop from hobby lobby and ive added walmart to that list for the same reasons. @@SetsunaMeiou-SailorPluto also they have until feb 15th to find a buyer or joanns goes to auction. If they cant find someone to buy them, then they go into liquidation. The only offer they have recieved is the same company that bought big lots and liquidated.
I visited my local Aldi after work today, no cakes to be seen! It also looked like they hadn't put a lot of the new crafty stock out yet. I'm hoping it's all in the back and out by tomorrow 😢
Update... After another failed visit on my lunch break today in Manchester... and being left disappointed again, I have finally got my hands on some new cakes, I got the green and yellow 💛 excellent 👌
I am too close to the Storm Eowan blasts this morning its horrid, tomorrow will be worse. It will be Saturday before I get to Aldi. Did compensate though I went to Hobbycraft yesterday. Yum.
New sub here. Just come from my local Aldi and absolutely filled my boots 😂. I came away and said to myself, right, that’s it. I’m only going in once this time (having massively overdone it in September, lol) And then I watched your vid, and now I want the green cake one and the green dk and more of the pink/green roving yarn, as I only bought 6. I am beyond help, but on the plus side, I’ve just ordered some vacuum storage bags so that I can shrink down my stash 😂❤😂
😮So glad I stumbled upon your vlog! I’ll be on my way to Hexham to bag some for myself 🙌🏽🧶I absolutely love the yarn cakes 😍 thanks for this! I subscribed ✍🏽💞
I came across you having searched for someone showing that roving yarn (saw it in a picture on Instagram) and also couldn't find it on their website etc. Weird question but from quite quickly in I thought how much you remind me of someone else I follow and have for years then you mentioned a younger sister! Is your sister Sarah Louise? If it is, you're voices are SO alike!
I'm gonna try to start filming it this week. The original jumper only took about 4 days to make in total, but recording and editing will bump this time up. I'll hopefully get it up in a couple of weeks ❤️
Good morning amora Sory i 4got to say i were asking about the orange wool on ur shelfs behind u on the shelve? I wondered where u got them from as i want to make a blanket 4 my sister whos has cancar as she gets very cold? Great vlog and thanks 4 great vlogs Iv liked and subascribed as im.loving ur vlogs Love u guys❤
They're from a few different brands. The majority of it is stylecraft, some is from home bargains (the coral colour) and I have Papatya glitter in orange in There too. I usually get my stylecraft yarn from Black sheep wools, delta wool shop or Abakhan - all sell online ❤️ hope this helps ❤️
Thank you for showing us Aldi's wool. Much appreciated ❤ I like the pink yarn cakes you got and look forward to watching your video when you make the jumper😊 See that "super chunky" 280g (£3.49) ....how many balls approx do you reckon you would need for a medium sized straightforward jumper...I've never used that weight before but I think it would be really thick and cosy and crochet up faster? X
I've got the grey and blue super chunky to make a blanket but I've sent my husband out to a different store to get the berry colour as they didn't have any berry left at our closest store

@@SetsunaMeiou-SailorPluto also they have until feb 15th to find a buyer or joanns goes to auction. If they cant find someone to buy them, then they go into liquidation. The only offer they have recieved is the same company that bought big lots and liquidated.
I was sat outside my Aldi at 7.45am watching this 🤣🤣🤣
Amazing 🤣🤣
I wish aldi would bring out the yarn 4 times a year
Omg you have an amazing Aldi we didn’t even have a sniff of yarn we didn’t get the led skin care stuff either
are you not able to order on their site?
I visited my local Aldi after work today, no cakes to be seen! It also looked like they hadn't put a lot of the new crafty stock out yet. I'm hoping it's all in the back and out by tomorrow 😢
Update... After another failed visit on my lunch break today in Manchester... and being left disappointed again, I have finally got my hands on some new cakes, I got the green and yellow 💛 excellent 👌
You are so lucky. I live in a village have to go to the nearest town.
I’m only going in once this time (having massively overdone it in September, lol)
And then I watched your vid, and now I want the green cake one and the green dk and more of the pink/green roving yarn, as I only bought 6.
I am beyond help, but on the plus side, I’ve just ordered some vacuum storage bags so that I can shrink down my stash 😂❤😂
Vacuum bags are a godsend when it comes to yarn storage 🤭❤️
@@AmoraLovesYarnI wish I’d thought of it sooner😊x
😮So glad I stumbled upon your vlog! I’ll be on my way to Hexham to bag some for myself 🙌🏽🧶I absolutely love the yarn cakes 😍 thanks for this! I subscribed ✍🏽💞
I came across you having searched for someone showing that roving yarn (saw it in a picture on Instagram) and also couldn't find it on their website etc.
Weird question but from quite quickly in I thought how much you remind me of someone else I follow and have for years then you mentioned a younger sister! Is your sister Sarah Louise? If it is, you're voices are SO alike!
hi can you give me an idea when you will do pattern for yumpear from aldi ?thanks
I'm gonna try to start filming it this week. The original jumper only took about 4 days to make in total, but recording and editing will bump this time up. I'll hopefully get it up in a couple of weeks ❤️
Good morning amora
Sory i 4got to say i were asking about the orange wool on ur shelfs behind u on the shelve?
I wondered where u got them from as i want to make a blanket 4 my sister whos has cancar as she gets very cold?
Great vlog and thanks 4 great vlogs
Iv liked and subascribed as im.loving ur vlogs
Love u guys❤
They're from a few different brands. The majority of it is stylecraft, some is from home bargains (the coral colour) and I have Papatya glitter in orange in There too. I usually get my stylecraft yarn from Black sheep wools, delta wool shop or Abakhan - all sell online ❤️ hope this helps ❤️
@AmoraLovesYarn
Thank u so much 4 helping me as i got dyslexic and im.always asking questions
I got 16 balls of dk yarn. 4 different colours. Couldn’t see the yarn cakes so they had either gone or not put out
Love❤love Chunky
None in the US yet... waiting, waiting, waiting...
Ah I was away last week so maybe I have missed this event :( love the pink ombré style yarns I shall keep my eyes peeled for the next time x
Thank you for showing us Aldi's wool. Much appreciated ❤ I like the pink yarn cakes you got and look forward to watching your video when you make the jumper😊
See that "super chunky" 280g (£3.49) ....how many balls approx do you reckon you would need for a medium sized straightforward jumper...I've never used that weight before but I think it would be really thick and cosy and crochet up faster? X
I've got the grey and blue super chunky to make a blanket but I've sent my husband out to a different store to get the berry colour as they didn't have any berry left at our closest store
I visited my local Aldi for the yarn event which I found most disappointing and did not purchase any yarn.
I got mine yesterday.. Great price £1.29
I'm not buying a single skein or ball of yarn this year - Enjoy!
p.s. no idea if Aldi sells yarn in Australia.
😊This just came across my page. I had no idea they sold yarn. We clearly don't get that here in California 😮
Yessss 🎉 I love your videos ! Love from Turkiye !
I have never seen so much yarn in aldi here in Germany
Hi , DO you mach the die numbers when you get your wool at aldi . Thank you for sharing your time .😊😊😊
I didn't this time
What projects can the baby yarn be used for?
I wish they still sold their baby yarn as im looking for the licac / purple panies one .
