Red Velvet is a group under SM Entertainment (A "big 3" agency which houses groups like EXO, Girls Generation, Super Junior, Shinee, f(x) etc....). They are girl group meant to be a balance between pop and experimental. Their concepts and general sound is divided into two; the Red side and Velvet side. The Red side covers songs and concepts that are high in energy, very pop, and quirky, this side also tends to have the better choreographies in performances. The Velvet side covers songs and concepts in the range of, dark, serious, sultry, and has some RnB influence; the track you just listened to, Bad Boy (which has its own MV for the Korean version btw), is under this particular side. I want to remind you though, that the English version of Bad Boy is the only original song they have in English. If you want something similar to Bad Boy, I suggest checking one of the following songs as a start: *Automatic, Cool Hot Sweet Love, Kingdom Come, *Peek A Boo, *Be Natural, Look, Talk To Me, *One of These Nights and I Just. If you would like to branch out to their Red side, songs like *Dumb Dumb, *Ice Cream Cake, *Russian Roulette, *Red Flavor, *Power Up, Oh Boy, Zoo, Red Dress and Time Slip are good compositions to start with. I do suggest listening to their albums even if you wont make videos of them, they are widely considered as the girl group with the best discography this generation due to their versatility and general consistency of quality. There are also occasions where they mix the Red and Velvet. The whole Red and Velvet thing tends to seperate their more casual fans though as some love the other side more than the other, which is understandable and part of their appeal tbh.

Ambi 389 i guess they’re just underrated in america. like most of the reactors i see react to them compare them to blackpink or twice. saying they’re not edgy enough or they’re not cute enough. i personally love how they take BOTH concepts and make it their own. and yeah the snsd comparison thing is also pretty prevalent
