It’s just this toxic “b-b-but it CAN’T BE better than NVIDIAAAAA!” mindset.
Notice how so long as they think ONE COMPONENT or SOFTWARE MANUFACTURER on PC has a “leg up” on what the “next equivalent console” is doing, they’re COOL.
The second that becomes THREATENED or CHALLENGED even SLIGHTLY, that’s when they FREAK TF OUT.
Reminds me of this one dude in our friend group who gamed on PC and was just ALWAYS talking crap about the rest of our friend group enjoying playing on our Xboxs and PlayStations.
One day, he orders a $2,500+ PC and finishes assembling it and FOR WHATEVER REASON, it won’t power on.
He FREAKS OUT and I SWEAR TO GOD, he YELLS verbatim: “NOOOOO, I SPENT TOO MUCH MONEY ON IT FOR THIS BS TO NOT WORK!”
Anyway, that’s pretty much WHAT I IMAGINE every time I see a “PC dude” FREAKING OUT over what’s going on with console. Just pure coping over, “NOOO, I COULDN’T HAVE SPENT THAT MUCH MONEY FOR IT TO BE SO EASILY OUTCLASSED! THAT WOULD MAKE ME AN IDIOT!”

      Exactly.
I’ve NEVER quite understood this “mentality” that you can only enjoy what’s ultimately supposed to be a “recreational hobby” so long as think and believe your hardware is better than someone else’s.
Like you said, it just reeks of INSECURITY and trying to turn something you’re supposed to just receive JOY from into some kinda WEIRD “peen measuring contest.”
(Also, I thought he lowkey admitted that he has a 3090 so it’s NOT EVEN ABOUT his PERSONAL PC being “better” than a PS5 Pro, merely that it has the “potential” to be better than a PS5 Pro, which is a WEIRD THING to get hung up on.)

I believe the “lore” of Silent Hill is that it’s a “real place” (meaning I don’t think James is dead or whatever) but because it was built on Indian burial grounds and has like The Order cult involved with the town’s history, it’s like a town that’s like a “ghost image” of a previously-existing “sleepy American lakeside town” that then MANIFESTS the worst nightmares of outside occupants that enter it and make them REALITY (like your immune system releasing ANTIBODIES to fight off a “foreign invader” in the form of a virus).
I haven’t played the remake YET, though, and it’s been 20+ years since I played the OG Silent Hill 2 so I COULD BE MISTAKEN (I HAVE THE GAME but I’m just waiting for the PS5 Pro to experience it on THAT).

This is why I like games like Silent Hill, there's no definitive answers, just different interpretations depending on the person playing. Just watched a 25 minute video about Pyramid Head and it was incredibly fascinating. And there are certain aspects of Silent Hill that are different depending on the individual person, something unique I learned is that every dead body you find is actually Jame's body, possibly implying that James can't die in Silent Hill, which makes sense since Silent Hill is a place meant to punish the people it draws in, and just being able to die so easily would deny them of their punishment.

    • @jaythomas468
      @jaythomas468 20 часов назад +1

That’s part of what I loved about Returnal, too, was that it had multiple POTENTIAL “interpretations” of what ACTUALLY HAPPENED in the story (part of me thinks that about half the game’s “sci-fi” events ACTUALLY HAPPENED to Selene while the other half are just kind of her own personal stages of grief being allegorically REPRESENTED by the 6 biomes that you visit).
Well, as far as Silent Hill goes, there’s also the fact that in the very FIRST Silent Hill with Harry Mason (I BELIEVE that was the character’s name?), the game opens up with a TOTAL “mindscrew” where you venture out to find your missing daughter, end up in a narrow alleyway where it SUDDENLY gets real dark outside, and then when you go far enough in, you encounter monsters and try to run back out but suddenly the “entrance” to the alleyway is NOWHERE TO BE FOUND and you can’t DO ANYTHING other than DIE to the enemies there-only to then SUDDENLY WAKE UP in a diner RATHER THEN being met with the “Game Over” screen (probably one of my FAVORITE MOMENTS captured in a video game EVER; that junk BLEW ME AWAY when I played it for the first time at 13 years old).

    • @JP_Loco_93
      @JP_Loco_93 19 часов назад +1

@@jaythomas468 - Never would have connected Silent Hill with Returnal, but they appear very similar when you stop to think about it.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is my first real visit to the series, as I've only played Silent Hill Homecoming & Silent Hill Downpour up to this point, both games were received very negatively, yet I still found both game's stories quite good and very fascinating.
As for Silent Hill 1, I've seen a few videos discussing a possible interpretation of that story, and Silent Hill in that game is shaped and manipulated around Mason by a 'Chosen One', a girl with the powers to control Silent Hill, forced to do so by a cult who wish to control her thus controlling Silent Hill, and Mason really isnt all that important to the story in the overall grand scheme of things.

It’s WEIRD especially considering that NVIDIA has been “signaling” more towards “focusing” making their FUTURE GPUs for use in AI and special FX RATHER than GAMING.
Meaning even NVIDIA must lowkey KNOW that these things are going to become HARDER AND HARDER to sell the “hardcore PC gamer” on, as the years wane on.

This PSSR vs DLSS argument is a fight I don’t think PC players want to start, because if I had to bet on one or the other, my money would go on Sony and here’s why:
PSSR is already far better than DLSS was at DLSS 1.0; I’d actually argue that PSSR 1.0 is already performing at similar level to DLSS 2.0 was, so although DLSS 3.5 is ahead, it certainly isn’t by any kind of significant margin.
It’s pretty obvious that both PSSR and DLSS will continue to be improved over time, and let’s be honest, out of the two corporations Sony are the one who has the biggest incentive to make regular improvement upgrades.
Plus Nvidia have now started branching out into other areas, rather than just gaming. Therefore, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Nvidia’s GPU improvements, becoming far less gaming focused, especially if those other avenues become more profitable.
Whereas Sony literally have the biggest and most profitable (console) gaming platform around, and they are literally building their consoles to be developer friendly first and foremost.
Which is why I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised to see, that by the time the PS6 launches, Sony have already caught up with Nvidia in this area, because like I said, Sony have a far bigger incentive to do so.

      @@aeolussvichi7680 EXACTLY.
Sony creating PSSR i.e. an actual HARDWARE-BASED AI upscaling solution, rather than continuing to use FSR, which is (currently) only a SOFTWARE-BASED AI upscaling Solution, now forces Nvidia to keep updating and improving DLSS more regularly, otherwise they are at serious risk of falling behind consoles.
Which only benefits PC players in the long-term.
But for some unknown reason, rather than seeing this like it is, as a massive WIN,, I think (some) PC fanboys are but hurt and worried that their MID-RANGE PC is slowly being outclassed by consoles, in power, price, and now features, because let’s be honest FSR didn’t even come close to DLSS and everyone knew it, yet PSSR may now remove what was a clear and obvious advantage..
Personally,, I just want the industry to move forward on both PC and console , because that way WE ALL WIN.

Yea, that’s been a regular thing with the first 4 SH games where certain endings will be “locked” or made “unobtainable” by really CRYPTIC conditions.
But yea, all 4 of the games feature some kind of goofy “joke ending” that usually involves aliens, talking dogs, Sailor Moon, and/or breaking the fourth wall (for those that AREN’T aware; I’m OBVIOUSLY REFERRING to the original 4 Silent Hill games on PS1 and PS2 that were ALL MADE by the same team before they were “dissolved” and later games like Homecoming and Downpour were “farmed out” to small Western developers).

I said, people are not saying PS5 pro is too expansive when comparing to a PC. They are saying it's too expansive to have ON TOP of buying the newest card. these PC people have superiority complex. They gotta own both a PS5 pro AND buying the new card each year to stay in the race. So they are so mad now PS5 pro pricing is closer to their "main" purchase.

    - Games developed for console(PS) are "Smoke&Mirrors" and using tricks but 3rd party games on PC are not because they are open world and you can change settings
    - The Last of Us Part II is a example of Play Station First Party Title that was compromised by being developed for console because its linear (curve ball is coming)
    - Horizon Forbidden West is a example of Play Station First Party Title that was compromised by being developed for console because even tho its open world it uses "tricks" & u cant change settings

You know the reason why pc get those options right? Most pcs can never run the actual game with all those features enabled ti their fullest so they let you chosse which ones to lower so you can run the game to your specs. Consoles are trying to let you have all without the drawbacks. Don't know why yall pc dudes can't understand that. Choosing to make your game more ass because your pc cant run it is not the flex you think it is.
Don't get me wrong its definitely good for pcs thay can't run them to their fullest so they can choose what they want but its still a compromise you have to make.
