I was in college in Delhi. I saw this awesome movie with my first girlfriend at Savitri Cinema in GK-II. I still remember we went to Lodhi Garden right after on my Yezdi, and had dinner at Aashiyana. We were both mesmerized by the sheer beauty of Arth's songs and the sincerity of Jagjit Singh's voice. 40 years have gone, but my heart still aches for those times when I hear these songs. Life was so simple. I wish I knew how lucky we were to be young, in love, and living in an unspoiled Delhi. Kya zamaana tha. I was happy in a barsati, with cane furniture, hanging lamps, wall posters, listening to Jagjit on my old stereo, with friends, sharing laughs and kathi rolls. Koi lauta de mere beete hue din.

I still remember I was in Mumbai when I first heard this song and then want straight to my uncles home and proposed my cusion but she refuesd.
