'होशवालों को खबर क्या, बेखुदी क्या चीज है..।' साल 1999 में आई फिल्म सरफरोश के लिए निदा फाजली साहब ने इसे लिखा था। पर निदा साहब बताते हैं कि उन्हें इस गजल की प्रेरणा कबीर के एक दोहे से मिली थी। दोहा कुछ इस तरह है, 'हमन हैं इश्क़ मस्ताना हमन को होशियारी क्या, रहें आजाद या जग से हमन दुनिया से यारी क्या।

अर्थ के पीछे सीख: इस दोहे में कबीर कहते हैं,
'हमन को होशियारी क्या?' यानी हममें होशियारी होती बहुत है। अपनी होशियारी के चलते हम खूब वजहें निकाल लेंगे। कबीर इस दोहे के जरिए बड़ी सहजता से बता रहे हैं कि हम इंसान क्यों भटक रहे हैं। हम भटक इसलिए रहे हैं क्योंकि प्यारे से बिछड़े हुए। हैं। तो अगली बार जब भी यह गजल सुनें, कबीर को भी जरूर याद कीजिएगा।
