Is this program able to demonstrate sorting algorithms sorting the lines of any arbitrary bitmap image? That could allow for some interesting results...
I don't know if this is a smart observation or just stupid, because I have not studied anything related to algorithms and stuff like that, but I noticed that in some sorting algorithms the first step or two already "reveal" what the final image will look like, because it produces smaller versions of the image. If I think correctly, I would choose such an algorithm for sorting if I want or need to see the rough outcome of my collected data quickly so that I can already react to a discovery or development while I am waiting for the complete and accurate analysis. Is that true or am I just totally off?

That is a good statement, especially for sorts like Merge Sort which continuously keeps larger and larger segments of the array sorted.
