Thanks for getting this coverage to us! Its easy for people to take it for granted and complain when they don't get what they want when they want it. It's also easy for people to complain about the quality of play from these ladies, even though they're out there on the biggest stage competing for the World Championship and have proved they deserve to be there. They're out there doing their best while MA3 players are here asking why they aren't playing better. Let's just appreciate the awesome things they're doing on tough courses, in tough conditions, under the most pressure.
I really hope Jomez' successful run at creating a great platform for disc golf lovers to follow the DGPT continues. I sincerely hope Jomez doesn't go the way of DGN.."growing the sport", behind a 15 dollar per month paywall to watch 360 stream quality and tons of commercials. YT, for all its negatives, is still a great way to bring tournaments to the masses. It seems all disc golf media companies are growing and succeeding--why mess with a fantastically successful operation to one that most viewers have continuously voiced dissatisfaction with? Disc golf needs a lot more dedicated viewers and the quality of DGN improved tremendously. I'm never paying for any stream that's basically 'listening to disc golf' because we can't see the disc flying half the time, and then a string of commercials.
someone on a previous video commented that this is the exact kind of behavior that killed pro paintball...id forgotten how common it was to see paintball on espn3 and other smaller channels (back when espn3 was free). but you never see it anymore. its the same old story...money talks
@@njstuckey Sad to see it go this way. In a short time, it's gone from a passion sport with great underground type feel..to some cash-grab "it's your responsibility to support disc golf" feel. All the while, disc companies are making record sales(/profits?), DG media companies have great equipment and revenue for post-production, and purses are increasing every year. Why change it? Why make it LESS ACCESSIBLE during record growth??
"After years of partnering together, the Disc Golf Pro Tour has fully acquired JomezPro." I would bet my life that Jomez will be behind a paywall next year, or the following year. It's heartbreaking to think about it going that way. Jomez was the FIRST to provide coverage, and have continued to improve. I hope I'm wrong about the paywall, but seeing what DGPT has done in recent years - charging to attend events, VIP areas now appearing at the best vantage points and of course the aforementioned low quality DGN.

These women are definitely better than me, so it makes me feel good when they complain about the wind. Sometimes I play with this kind of wind (visually similar flag movement and tree movement) and I used to think man this feels windy, but the flag and the trees aren't moving that much. But I guess even with something not super visually windy, the wind can actually be significant.
I was watching earlier coverage and saw Ohn hugging other groups after her round. I figured she was done. Hate to see it but she was obviously in pain.
Always love the coverage and how they are adding new graphics/segments. One thing though, the hole graphic on the right of the hole intros seem to be off/not correct, maybe just leave them off (the drone footage of the hole is already fantastic)? Just a bit of feedback from a fan of the channel.
I don’t understand Hole 5 commentary. A good “skill” to show off is showing how you can break a hole down and get a par. I say it almost every time I comment. For FPO, PARS are good. Finishing EVEN in FPO usually means podium finish but definitely Top 10. Throw stock hyzer. Show off your upshot “skill”. Take a par.
I was just watching hole 5 and came to the comments becous i was thinking to my selfe "Kristin showed her skill, landing in a spot that gives her a standard upshot and exicuting that perfektly. The others just did not have that skill and made a decision to throw in to the trees hoping for luck"
I prefer Two Hot Geese commentary myself but I do believe since FPO is their own division they have a lot more relevant insight to share and thus will be much more effective commentating FPO. Same goes for MPO commentators.

Two Hot Geese, when it comes time to step back from competition, please please PLEASE consider suggesting that you take over the FPO commentary responibilities for the DGPT live feed. I am so sick of the inane, boring and insultingly simplistic garbage that is on that feed 95% of the time right now. Seriously, except when Korver is on, I turn the volume way way down so I don't have to listen to hours and hours of people trying to explain disc golf to me like I never held a disc before.
No offense to the players, but where is first round MPO coverage? Upload speed and quantity of coverage has dropped significantly this season. Very Disappointing.

When we look back 5 or 10 years from now, when the polar ice caps have all melted and the sky is on fire, we will swoon over the days when Jomez was great and quick and simple and sweetly innocent. Back before the days of Pay Per View. We'll all be wearing our tattered and torn Jomez swag and throwing overstable 16 speed Polypropylene drivers that will catch fire in mid-flight and melt on the ground and leave a gray gooey stain on the bare dirt fairways where we will then subsequently throw asbestos covered putters or titanium midranges toward burned out craters of rusted and broken chains and old Tesla car wheels and strings of steel cable from radial tires. Ah, those were the days my friends. Those were the days, for sure. 🥵 😵💫
Do these other women not do this professionally? Kristin doesn’t just throw better shots but shot selection is key. The other players seem like they aren’t as invested in understanding the game… do they not get paid enough to take it more seriously and practice more? 23:49 Example: All three competitors take super risky drives that almost go out of bounds, but they’re saved by a tree. Then, on the approach that isn’t very far they all shank what should be an incredibly basic shot for a “pro”. At the bear minimum, they should be aiming below the basket where there’s no water. Simple shot selections… every single girl I play with could do better on these approaches, Mertsch barely puts forth any effort and power (like it just not worth trying harder), Mandujano shot into the water and Gannon throws a 40ft shank like it’s her first time playing. I know this sounds harsh, but this is why I think women’s Disc Golf doesn’t get watched as much. It has nothing to do with the fact that it’s women playing and not men. We love good DG. It’s the lack strategy & skill resulting from a clear lack practice that isn’t fun to watch. Kristin dominates the field because she actually trains and thinks like a Discgolf professional. I can’t imagine how many times per round she must cringe watching her “competition”
I think the other women on the track come with gambler tactics when Kristin competes. Because they don't believe that they can play as consistently as Tattar. Like most gamblers, they play their game down.
I stopped watching the FPO a couple of years ago. I'm only here to try to figure out what's up with the Jomez MPO coverage. This is out but we haven't seen the MPO first round. Are we going to? I quit FPO because I couldn't stand watching Cat Allen miss half of her 20 foot putts tournament after tournament and similar play from most others. PP was the only one really performing back then and I need more than that to keep interested. Then there is the whole other controversy that can't be talked about. Sorry I don't need the boring play and stupid rules. The FPO gets 20 - 25% of the views of the MPO coverage. The numbers prove that it's just not that compelling to watch. Pass.

Gatekeeper had two complete rounds posted before Jomez had their first one out (MPO). I used to love Jomez. Now they are tasting more and more like _Corporate Media._ They put Chris Dickerson's video over the Paul McBeth intro and vice versa (first round).
So are you saying that because Gatekeeper has half the work to do (only 1 MPO card), and because of that they are able to edit and release their videos earlier than Jomez (who have double the amount of work to do) they are better? @@markush1122gatekeeper is no where near the same size of company as Jomez… they probably have half the employees and half the editors that Jomez has. Jomez chose to take on fpo in the offseason, they should have the infrastructure to get their product out in a timely matter.

Even if you give people good explanations why things are as they are and why they aren't as they were, or how people would want them to be, people always just come up with their own counter excuses: "But you should be able to do it like I think it should be done, because...". The fact that people are less and less capable of stepping into other people's shoes and seeing (or even trying to see) the situation from their perspective, is just sad. All that people are concerned is: "I don't like..." and "I want...". It doesn't matter what the real facts are or what is really happening behind the scenes, no-one cares. It is only "Me, me, me", "I want this…". And to prove their point, they compare one thing to another, that are actually not totally comparable: "If Gatekeeper can do this why can't you?". Because they are different. Jomez has double the work, double the commentators (that aren't available 24/7, not even a few hours a day, and that can't do their commentaries (FPO/MPO) at the same time because they use the same equipment and studio etc.). There are actual, good explanations to these things, but again, no-one seems to care. Gk Pro didn't want to continue to cover FPO, so Jomez stepped in. I see it only as a positive thing. But again I see so many seeing it only as a negative (again a choice, and people chose negativity/what they would want... instead of understanding/positivity). There is this thing called workflow that people seem to also be totally oblivious about. You have to do things in a certain order if you don't want to waste time and do extra work. That is why FPO comes first and MPO comes second. And when there are weather delays, this workflow has to be retained as much as possible so that you don't get everything mixed up. But no-one cares. "But you should be able to..." As a closing thought. How we see and treat others, how we judge them, is just a reflection of what we subconsciously think that we, ourselves deserve. So let's try to be kinder and more understanding to others, because by doing so we are actually being kinder to ourselves.
Hole 5, as the ladies say, is a bad FPO hole to showcase their skills. The flyover shows another tee to the left and maybe sixty feet further up. Why wouldn't they use that tee box to give the ladies a chance to reach the green? Makes zero sense to play it that way.

Hole 5, as the ladies say, is a bad FPO hole to showcase their skills. The flyover shows another tee to the left and maybe sixty feet further up. Why wouldn't they use that tee box to give the ladies a chance to reach the green? Makes zero sense to play it that way.

Honestly I wasn’t trying to critique, rather I am enamored w her putting. They always go in. Even wobbly and shaky off the hand.
