This video helped me troubleshoot my own vinyl piano bench. Yesterday it started making a snapping noise when i pushed the button in or sat on it, flipped it over and i can feel the staples and when i push the button i feel a stable came loose. remove the felt under the bench in area, push button in/pull rope and staple down again. That should do it... Thanks for the great tutorial on tufting. :)
Nice looking seat! Well done! Thank you for making the videos. Was wondering: How do you know where to make a hole in the leather for the second button? Do you just evenly spread leather and then make the hole from underneath? Do you somehow mark the leather too?
Super helpful, thank you! I don’t have a compressor powered staple gun, but have a hand one or an electric Stanley one. What size staples do you recommend? (I have 3/8 or 5/16.)
I know this video is old, but can i ask how you got 5 inches between each hole? I have a seat that's 13 1/2 inches in diameter and don't know how far i should place the holes apart.
I am a Dominican Republic, I want to congratulate you on your work is beautiful and good tune-up, I wanted to ask you what kind of glue used to attach the foam rubber
We have a furniture restoration business right outside of Kansas City, MO. Your video is absolutely fantastic. We want to step up our vanity benches from early 1900's and take the seats to another level. Thank you! You are fabulous! Heirloom Furniture Restoration on Facebook
Hi, could you please explain to me how I would work out the fabric pattern for the same footstool but with the chesterfield pins round the sides also, a cube. I see they’re sewn in a zig-zag form but I’m confused with how to measure it for it. Thanks in advance x
Too much fabric is better than not enough! Although I've no experience with this particular technique, I'd assume it's a bit like pleating, given the deep fold created by the stitches. In which case, I'd at least double if not triple the amount of fabric you think you'd need to cover that area
Where can I buy the foam wholesale or a lot for a good price. Been seeing foam everywhere but it seems expensive. So I always resort to buying foam for bedding California king and just cutting it up for projects. I feel I can be saving money some how. Any advice anyone ?? Thanx
Hi, I noticed a big JUMP at 6:42 from nothing stapled underneath to only 1 last section not stapled. Getting to the last section is the hard part. Wish you'd show that part.
Great job bro, I have diploma of upholstery i workt 1 year in past, i never workt on my own i had peaple show me...now do you think that i can lurn on my own at home ? And live from that?
Sure, I intend to learn on my own at home and that is without a diploma or any experience at all. The only way we learn is to do ad to try, so try everything and do your best and you can't go wrong. It might not be perfect straight away but that's what practice is for. Good luck and merry Christmas x
Hi Darren, Thank you for your very informative videos. They are the best i have seen on RUclips. My question is: do you also mark the underside of the fabric when diamond tufting and also do you make each diamond an inch bigger on the fabric to allow for the hole? Thanks again, Jenny
+Alexandre Morais it's okay don't worry you just got to pay very very close attention that's all but it's good that you asked so you know next time and it will hang but not for as long as firm but you will have maybe few years o months so don't worry maybe by than you might want to change it 😊

Muy bonito trabajo
How deep to you pull the button down? All the way until it won't go anymore, ie until the foam is completely compressed?
Super helpful, thank you! I don’t have a compressor powered staple gun, but have a hand one or an electric Stanley one. What size staples do you recommend? (I have 3/8 or 5/16.)
Great video! Could you please show or tell how you attached it to the legs? Thanks in advance.

Hi, d you measure the back of the cloth where the holes go? If s, is this the same measurements that you drilled on the board? Thanks Les

What is the fiber layer for? I see you use it a lot over top of the main foam.
Nathan S it’s called batting prevent movement of fabric and buttons.
To stop the cover sticking to the foam. When you change/repair the cover it will come off easily.
