    An interesting note on manticores is that their lawful evil and (relatively) intelligent. So while most are probably just brutes in the wilds, theres no reason not to have one in a more cosmopolitan area.
    My personal favorite use in my own homebrew was as mounts for hellknight signifiers, while the manticores themselves also became hellknights. Muscle and magic wrapped in black armoured flying tanks.
    I hope one day we get a full video on sphinxes. Ive always thought that their mating deciding their species was a fascinating idea. Even if paizo has yet to give an exact reasons that the cynosphinx and gypsosphinx exist.

Then see if you can get your hands on a copy of Shattered and read through it so you know what was meant to have happened there and see if you'd like to adjust anything. Ideally in Return, the players feel like are learning all about all the Runelords that have come before, and that they start to feel like characters (albeit distant ones) whose politics are still affecting the world today. This should be really fun, if you plan on skipping Shattered Star. :-)

    Man, I would be ANGRY if an invading nation (like Cheliax) introduced chimeras to my local ecosystem. If you stated how large they are I missed it, but it looks like they're several hundred pounds of apex predator with all the intellectual charm of a particularly dumb, hateful, and vengeful humanoid. My guess is the Chelaxians use them as shock troops because no one misses them when they die.
    Griffons, on the other hand, rock. All my homies love Griffons. Phoenixes, being basically giant, super-intelligent avian dinosaurs that burst into cleansing flame and self-resurrect are pretty cool too I guess :P

    I've recently heard a theory that the manticore myth in our world may have come from exaggerated accounts of man-eating Indian tiger attacking trade caravans. Tigers can mimic sounds, are huge but hard to see, and are extremely dangerous to humans. There's even some research showing they may be able to temporarily stun deer and other animals using infrasound. So yeah there's a lot there to potentially lend some credibility to the idea.

    • @TheMythKeeper

      No, its an excellent idea. The more you can do to offload work as a GM, the better. That means giving player characters control of NPCs, having a designated player call out the initiative order, and assign other tasks to help you out in the thick of things. More valuable to have smooth gameplay than to worry about whether a particular player at the gametable is meta-gaming their use of an NPC. My 2 cents ;-)

    Marketing professional here, mainly in SEO and analytics. Some free advice for you, Mythkeeper: RUclips (aka Google) hasn't figured out that Pathfinder = D&D. So, while your channel has far better content than the vast majority of D&D lore channels, you're not getting anywhere near as much attention as you should. You should try to fix this insofar as you can. How? Slip any of the following keywords into your video titles somewhere toward the end: D&D, DND, Dungeons & Dragons. Additionally, write a small block of text that goes in every video description for videos you post. This small block of text should describe how Pathfinder is a good alternative to D&D, but has a slightly different game system and a world that is very D&D adjacent.

    • @SausageNinja
      @SausageNinja 4 месяца назад +2

      Also, you will benefit from connecting with other youtube loremasters. You should open up the "Channels" tab and fill it with channels that you know that your user base will enjoy. This doesn't just have to be Pathfinder stuff, though that should probably come first. It should definitly include D&D lore channels. Linking to other channels isn't meant to be a one-way street, though. Those other channels need to reciprocate. This is where you enter the world of real actual marketing work: You need to reach out to each of the youtube loremasters you have linked to from your "Channels" tab, and ask that they link to your channel as well. Don't reach out just once; reach out once a week for a month. If at the end of that month they won't reciprocate your link, you remove thier link from your "Channels" tab. You may find yourself thinking that exposing your viewers to other channels may make you lose viewers, but this is almost never the case. The vast majority of the time, both channels will benefit.

    • @SausageNinja
      @SausageNinja 4 месяца назад +2
