    Several issues I'm running into and can't figure out how fix it.
    walled staircase is listed a bed on the map. Any way to remove the bed and make it a wall?
    The map wont separate living room from dinning room. So I have massive living room according to the map. Any way to label the rooms manually?

    How do you make it clean certain room? I cannot find that option in the app it just shows “auto” when it will clean the whole area … I can only command it to clean specific room with voice command but not thru the app….

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  Год назад +1

      Go to the map section, bottom right corner. Verify a complete map. There should be area tab once you edited and create rooms for your map.

      Auto and Custom are both 'buttons' that can be tapped. They just like text. Took me 5 days to figure it out.

    For some reason, mine just always avoid vacuum and mopping my under the bed area. But if i use the "custom" and square the bed area, it will clean it eventually. And if i use quick map feature, it also donw want go into the under the bed area. Any idea how to make it clean whole house (including under the bed) automatically?

    How do you use X1 Omni on multistorey Map? Do we need to take base station or just robot unit? How it will return to base and if it can know the auto position or map?

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  Год назад

      I believe in the app there a multi map saving option. Than you tell it to create a new map. You will need to bring the station for that one time for Mapping.

    • @boatmangeorge
      @boatmangeorge Год назад

      Open Ap> Tap Enter Smart Cleaning>Tap Map Management (lower Left> There are three screens where you can save a floor map. Do not take the base station with you. Once it has finished cleaning that floor, It will let you know and ask to be returned to base station. Once returned to base station the map is saved. If all three panes are used, you will need to erase or overwrite one.

    hey mate , what if it had already learnt the map .... but then i wanted to change the base station to another part of the house ? (where the map is also learnt). Do i have to do the entire set up again ? or would it just know the new base station's location automatically? thanks!

    • @RobotMasters

      Usually the robot can update the charger location without needing to remap.

    I'd like to see you do a video explaining which devices connect to which. For example, phone app, station and robot are connected to each other, how? Are they connected only via wi-fi or is there some direct connection? Where is data stored, on the app or in the Ecovac cloud? If one were to delete the app off the phone then reloaded it and signed back in, would any data be lost and what data exactly? When you do a reset what data remains and what data is lost?

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  Год назад

      So how all three devices Smartphone, Dock and Robot are initially connected is through the same 2.4 GHZ Wifi network. There only a few models that support 5GHz networks. Once the initial pairing process has been established than the Smartphone can be on a different WiFi network or Cellular Network as long as it has an active data connection. The Robot and Dock are usually still connected to the original 2.4 GHz WiFi network. Sometimes the Robot will connect to the dock using Bluetooth or another from of short range connection. As for the Data being stored like the Maps, user settings and AI photos they are stored both locally on the Robot and encrypted through the company Data Cloud. Once you remove the Robot off the Acoount depending on what model, the Map and all other user data is deleted automatically. Some companies like iRobot will allow you to save your Data prior to deleting the robot off the account so you can restore the Data to a New Robot or the same robot. Most robot vacuum companies will keep the Data as long as you have the robot paired to a user account. So this allows the user to delete the APP from a Device and once the user installs the APP to a new device and log back into the same account the Robot's Data and map should still be there. Hope this helps explains things.

    Can you explain me how to adjust the app for a room in which I just want to vacuum clean.

  • @mrannon
    @mrannon 2 года назад +2

    About the adding rooms part. The robot will automatically add the room if it finds one. I did this just by leaving my door open on the new room I wanted to add for cleaning. I bought my Omni from China so the US and China versions are pretty much the same, but the china version added a Labs option to settings. So you could try out new features like in a beta before it goes live. Does yours have the Lab Features under Settings/Smart Cleaning? This new feature they are testing is Course Dirt particles, its to prevent dirt from being knocked away by the corner brushes. Makes me wonder if they saw your nerds video.

    • @RobotMasters

    We've had the Omni for a week, so far the room mapping is way of the mark, shows twelve rooms where there is six. The app display is in portrait mode and the video is in landscape, very annoying. The app useability, GUI layout is like a dog's breakfast does not match the expected design quality as an app partner - very disappointing not user friendly, a redesign is necessary. The only saving the Omni does a good job at cleaning.

    How to make it recognize the furniture and floor type/carpets automatically in the 3D map? Do I have to join the product improvement program? Because my robot didn’t recognize any furniture or carpets in the 3D map! I didn’t join the product improvement program for privacy reasons.

    • @RobotMasters

      Hello, so once you have a 3D map, you have to manually add all the furniture and carpets into the map. It similar to creating and editing Cleaning Zones via the 2D map.

    • @RobotMasters

      Hmmm I think you have to be careful to physically remove the mopping pads or the robot will pre wet the mopping pads if the are installed. The only other way is to try the schedule feature and specify if you want to vacuum or mop, I believe there option to specify rooms and set the mop and vacuum levels.

    Hi Nathan, I set my interval to 10min and it seem to only work with mopping but not vacuuming. Do you know if this Deebot even have that feature? My old Deebot X1 plus differently have that. Upgrade to Omni X1 because of the mopping/vacuum combo. I have pets and would like it to go empty itself every 10min or so and then continue back to cleaning. Thanks!

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  Год назад

      So the Ecovacs have a self washing mop interval timer aka 10 minutes, where as the self emptying based on when the robot done cleaning the room or area. So if you want to do more self emptying within a room, schedule area cleaning and make each area smaller.

    Hi Nathan.
    My replacement i7 has not been updating to the latest firmware. It’s current firmware is 3.14.24 and that is incorrect because my old i7 had the new 22.14.1 firmware and had the light ring status features. And also the i7 has a new update where you can do customized cleaning but since mine isn’t up to date, it doesn’t have these features. Also I have been contacting iRobot like a million times last week and on Monday they sent an update request to my robot and the guy said not to disconnect the robot from the internet but few hours later our house lost Wi-Fi. Then I called on Tuesday and they said not to worry the update should come today. Still no hope. Then on Wednesday I call again. They resend a request. Then they email me saying that if there is any other problem please contact us again but I have been really busy. I would like your help and would like to know if your i7 also had this problem. Nice video!

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  2 года назад

      Hello sorry to hear about your Roomba. So yes iRobot has the ability to push updates to certain customers and they are not the quickest at doing so. My recommendation is to delete the iRobot App off your phone. Don’t worry everything is saved on the iRobot server Map, settings and user information. Also desert the robot WiFi holding the two outer buttons. Now reinstall the App, log into your account and link up the robot to the smartphone again. This may force the robot to look for recent software updates.

      @@RobotMasters thank you. I will try. Will I still have my smart maps?

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  2 года назад +1

      @@TheVacCorner Yes the maps will still be saved. Just make sure you log into the same iRobot account. I would try just the deleting the App and reinstalling the App first. See if that works. If not you can try the delete the robot off the account and reinstall. Sometimes the smart Maps take awhile for them to transfer over. It is finicky with my experience, so you might not want to risk losing your map.
