Thank you so much Gloria! As a person who is trying to improve my Cantonese, your videos are a perfect fit for me! I have a suggestion for a video, could you maybe teach us Cantonese when you’re public or talking with your family.

Hey Gloria, I just wanted to say that you should be so proud of your achievements over those past year. You make by far the best, most informative and fun Chinese learning videos. Also, you are such a great teacher. You have a brilliant teaching style and you are so patient with me, despite me forgetting words and tones. I have learnt more in the month I've been studying with you than I have in the year before with text books. Thank you so much for all your videos, honestly, they are awesome.

    M4 goi1 nei5 aa1!
Idk if I used the right participle. I'm relatively new to cantonese. I've been watching Cantonese dubs of animes to get used to the speed and sort of rhythm to Cantonese. Also been watching hambaanglaang for it's story books. I've noticed how people turn "mat1 je5" to "me1", "dim2 gaai2" and "dim2 joeng2" to "dim2", "bin1 go3" and "bin1 dou6" to "bin1". I've been wondering why and if there are times you use "mat1 je5" and so on instead of the shortened form.

Thank you very much for another useful video! I can't praise enough your effort of adding proper Cantonese subtitles, well done!
On a little side note: in the Cantonese dialect spoken in HK, they never say 聞起身 (but rather 聞起嚟)
Thank you again, your videos are true pearls for Cantonese learners!

You are right~ 闻起嚟 is more common in some formal occasion while 闻起身 is more down to earth

si 是 is a written form and means to be too. but it is only seen in poetry or books
