Honestly, there being 'bold spots'/ thin patches under her Ears makes Perfect sense bc that's how cats & dogs ears Are IRL, so I love the hair even More bc of that 1 detail. ❤
I couldn't stand Clawdeen's hair either and really wish they would've matched her hair more to the animation where it's frizzy and has natural texture. So I gave her a yarn wig with lots of tight curls 🥰

The one thing I don’t like about the gen 3 monster high designs, especially in the dolls. Is how they made them look more.. Cartoony? Kinda like if Disney Junior made Monster high. When the thing that monster high was unique and known for was for its edginess and dark vibe which wasn’t common in kids shows back when monster high was made. It was unique, now it just feels like barbie with a new coat of paint. Some people will say “It’s for younger children” but wasn’t it also for younger children when we were all kids? Nothing wrong with gen 3 in particular. Just not my cup of tea.
Yea they definitely changed it to make them more marketable bc even before parents would complain abt them being too scary
i agree it looks cartoony but it definitely still has edginess. imo gen 3 really maximized the freakiness potential of their characters by giving them more overtly monster-ish powers. Lagoona especially is an obvious example, she makes "scary" faces and they don't shy away from showing her super sharp teeth, serpentine tongue, and having odd powers like squirting water out of her ears. Cleo is also the same way with keeping scarabs under her wraps and canonically having organs outside of her mortal body. they genuinely made a lot of the monster designs and lore creepier and i'm glad bc there are definitely a lot of little girls interested in the creepy stuff when it comes to monsters. it would definitely be better if they returned to more alt fashion (especially since aesthetics are super trendy nowadays, it would totally take off) but at least the freaky factor is still there
i love clawdeen and wanted to keep her curly hair for her main doll so bad but the polypropylene hair was so unruly that i had to boil wash and straighten it out 🥲

I loved using doll planet hairs Afro style hair for a clawdeen bass to create howleen in a g3 style

u actually don't need to have your edges match your part! my part is typically more to the middle bc it flatters my face, and i add a curve to give my hair a side-part shape, but i have a small widow's peak and i prefer to just swoop my edges to the side! it's just a stylistic choice at the end of the day :)

I knew something had to be up with her hair since I got Frankie the day before Clawdeen, and Draculara the same day as Clawdeen but both Frankie and Dracularas hair was smooth and clawdeens felt knotted up as soon as I got her out the box

1. Her original hair was poly, a very cheap and terrible hair fiber that degrades with time, 2. The point of the video was to show a reroot, no styling was done yet.
