H.E. Hadjia Samira Bawumia, Second Lady of Ghana, and Ambassador of Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves and UN Ambassador for SDG 7, makes an impassioned appeal for sustained global action on clean cooking solutions, including micro-anaerobic digestion and biogas as an alternative to burning biomass. Four million people die prematurely from illnesses related to short-live climate pollutants and household air pollution, with rural communities in Africa being particularly affected. Aligning with agendas on the green revolution, access to energy, education of the girls child and the #methaneimperative, AD has a key role to play in emerging economies.
