Lorewise, Gaius was equal parts a rival yet also like an older brother to Radahn. They both trained to use gravity magic under the same Alabastor Lord (those tall almost naked guys with swords who use gravity magic) in the town of Sellia (magic town in caelid) and had a strong friendly rivalry in their learning. If you check out some of his gear descriptions you can discover that Gaius is actually an albinauric (like those archer woman that ride on wolves or those lanky pale guys that crawl on the ground). Albinaurics are artificially created people (commonly utilized as servants, soldiers, or slaves), and though naturally gifted with magic and the arcane, are cursed to eventually lose the use of their legs; this is why nearly every albinauric seen is either crawling or riding on something else, with the exception of the rotund frog looking second generation of albinaurics because they are younger and have not yet lost the use of their legs. Fun fact: the reason gaius uses gravity magic is because of a rivalry he had with radahn when they where much younger. That’s why he has so many similar moves to him and he has no legs.

Since I haven't seen anyone say this yet, Commander Gaius was altered in the patch the DLC received. Before, he used to start right in front of the fog gate, and the patch moved him back further into his arena. Before that, it was difficult to even start the fight because he'd immediately charge at you.
Seereax finding more and more of my favorite optional stuff in the DLC: I am so excited he found Manus Metyr and Saint Trina. Funny thing about Gaius being a Radahn fanboy: he and Radahn were taught gravity magic by the same Alabaster Lord, with Gaius being the eldest of the Lord's students. Gaius and Radahn did indeed know each other and had something of a friendly rivalry, before Gaius joined with Messmer and became the commander of his army.

That scene with the turtle made me wanna get revenge on all dragons I swear when I get my friends through the dlc I’m restart and kill every last dragon in the game!
In reference to the beginning about lore, the lore of this game is really cool for the most part! My personal favorite bit of lore is what happens with Sir Gideon Ofnir in the Erdtree. While you were in Farum Azula, Gideon made his way into the Erdtree and found Marika, as well as what she wanted. What she wanted, and how Gideon found it is unknown to us. All we know is that Gideon did not want it to happen, and refuses to let any tarnished become Elden Lord, allowing Godfrey through as he was not a tarnished at the point he arrived. Perhaps Gideon attempted to kill Marika, but could only put her down temporarily thanks to not having the rune of death? Either way, in his eyes, a tarnished Elden Lord cannot happen, not even him or you, a man cannot be allowed near a god...
Godfrey is tarnished though as when you fight him you see his grace guiding him to you. Grace is guiding you to fight him and him to fight you which makes that fight so awesome that the winner gets to become Elden Lord essentially. Otherwise yeah nice post!
@@get-o9o I personally believe that Godfrey got his act together, returned after his temporary exile was finished (thus his quote "Alas, I am returned.") , and was re-given the grace of the Erdtree, thus making him no longer tarnished. However, I think once he abandons his identity as Godfrey and becomes Hoarah Loux once more, he loses that grace and becomes a tarnished again. I think his grace directed him to you in the hopes you would kill him so Marika could use you for whatever Gideon wanted to stop. With Gideon now either dead or absent (the only person the tarnished uses the rune of death on is the Elden Beast, so perhaps Gideon decided to just let you figure things out yourself in the hopes you'd make the right choice like Sans does when you spare him), who was going to stop you? I personally think Gideon was the one that killed Godfrey in the badlands, hence why Marika is confident in your ability to beat Godfrey once she sees that you're equals with Gideon.
@@TheBoiMyers Maybe I thought he saw the guidance of grace when he was holding morgott much like we do when we are guided to fight him and the lore stated he was the first tarnished anyway. Man, I love your playthrough, someone who actually figures out some of the lore, explores everything all on their own, personally I find it to be the best way to experience the game. It's fine if people look up builds and bosses and use summons, I just think it ruins some of the experience of the game, exploration is a huge part of it, but a lot of people just treat it as a boss rush game, which is fine, I just think it is so much more and it's so fun to experience all of it. Same with the story, it's like a mystery game, you find items and clues and some NPCs give some of the pieces of the puzzle. Again no shame in looking things up if you don't want to do that, but it's really fun to figure out the lore, brainstorm ideas of what's happening and why through clues.

25:53 in case you're still curious the iris of occulation is an item that can be used in a different quest to get a katana made of darkness, it's pretty sick actually but the quest is a bit of a pain
If there’s only one thing I wish he could see is just to go back to the part with the guy standing in waiting and hit a certain emote to challenge him. I won’t say which emote, but it’s a certain emote and it will initiate a challenge and a worthwhile reward especially for someone like Deion.
14:20 in future if you get in a situation like that. Run in the boss area. Grab the souls and quickly exit the game from the menu.... can still loose them trying but if you get it will spawn outside the boss area with your souls. Is also a tear for your wonderus physic buff that works like the twig
13:31 For people traped by picking up runes in the boss area here's a glitch: After picking up your runes close the game (not quitting, closing) Normally when you re open the game you should die just in front of the boss area So when you respawn your runes should be outside the boss area
you should try using the wondrous physic flask so you don't have to worry about losing runes.helps out like crazy. especially when you're holding on like a million runes, just to level up twice lok
When I started playing Elden Ring I would always havea shield because I'd guard-counter a lot, but after a certain point I stopped using shields against bosses because I thought the windows for guard-counter were too limited, and some attacks would just take too much stamina, so I'd rather use either two hand, or use the left hand for incantantios/power stancing. But after fighting Gaius for hours, I decided to embrace the "Why learning to dodge when I can just block it?" mindset and it worked very well
So now that you've beaten the one fight that it would matter for, Deion, let me tell you about the quick menu. If you hold triangle and then press the D-Pad, you can use some of your items/consumables without having to cycle through your Down D-Pad inventory. This really helps when you want to quickly get on/off your Steed or when you want to be able to consistently heal with your flask even as you use other items. It's a Godsend truly, much like your content.
I have never seen Gaius use that attack before at 48:00. I know he has extra moves that he only uses if you ride Torrent, so that might be a punish for constantly making space on Torrent. That also seems to be what his Remembrance spell is based off of. I was curious about that too.

Afro: How many thumbnails did you prepare?
Your background music is always amazing
30:25 missed a perfect moment to call the big red bear GANON!!
Octopath traveler music slaps!
Also great video to show us your BOWER!!!!!
Edit: THE SPEAR SKELLY HIT THE TURTLE!!!!!!!!!
Yesirr I've been gatekeepING my notis for seereax to drop a new elden ring vid
He returns...
Bro Igor is where you fought the twin drakes to finish his quest line after beating bale, also for the quiet monk you need to use the monk gesture
Blind playthroughs are a freaking amazing experience, only drawback is you might miss something you really would've liked because it's hidden behind a ridiculously special interaction
Facing Gaius pre nerf was sum bull that bull charge hit box needed to be fix badly
26:05 Bro locked himself out of a nice dex katana
Im so addicted to these Seereax Elden Ring videos 😂❤️
46:19 he actually learned gravity magic side by side with radahn. Same teacher and all so more friends than idol.
Dang dude , i thought i could'nt like you more and then you go and show that sick owl tat 👌 i only have one and its also an owl
legit bro I did not see her either. I did not even see her in the Dragon Pit caves either. And by the time my friend told me she even existed, I had already killed Bayle and somehow screwed that questline. In summary, don't feel bad fam
Soundtrack goes so hard at 51:50
i think that bayle got the 2 missing head of placidusax on hos back
He gave the golden hippo a run for its money
14:20 in future if you get in a situation like that. Run in the boss area. Grab the souls and quickly exit the game from the menu.... can still loose them trying but if you get it will spawn outside the boss area with your souls. Is also a tear for your wonderus physic buff that works like the twig
I appreciate that you included the lore points for Igon and the Dragon Priestess 🙏🙏
13:31 For people traped by picking up runes in the boss area here's a glitch:
After picking up your runes close the game (not quitting, closing)
Normally when you re open the game you should die just in front of the boss area
So when you respawn your runes should be outside the boss area
you should try using the wondrous physic flask so you don't have to worry about losing runes.helps out like crazy. especially when you're holding on like a million runes, just to level up twice lok
But after fighting Gaius for hours, I decided to embrace the "Why learning to dodge when I can just block it?" mindset and it worked very well
Him climbing up the river you're supposed to go down, I can't even be mad I did the same thing my first playthrough. GGs man
Bro this playthrough is golden I love the Ymir edit music
46:15 it’s funny you say that, as both gaius and radahn learned gravity magic from the same alabaster lord
Lmao! I've been waiting all day for this. And almost an hour long? Oh boy, I got the popcorn ready
That Nier - City Ruins ost btw. Bootyful.
Him missing igon hurts so much.goodluck bro
YES i been waiting on another elden ring video i love these
Did you ever notice that Bayle the Dread had 2 of Placidusax’s heads permanently warping around and chomping into parts of Bayle’s neck?
So I know of two ways to dodge the boar charge attack. Either roll to the side (need perfect timing) or use steed. That move drove me crazy too.
I can’t be the only one who watches this and thinks WHY DOES HE NOT USE THE DAMN RUNES?
He's probably at a level that he likes if not
I have no idea bro 😂
Same
haven't watched this yet but I just wanna say that I like your videos! :D
With the silent monk you have to do a pose where you put your fists together and then he will fight you it doesn’t mess up any quest lines
You should start including the music you use for your fights. Straight bangers
23:00 after watching afrosenju's co op episode with him murdering that poor turtle, this has me on the floor
47:28 xD
The Sounds are peak
I have never seen Gaius use that attack before at 48:00. I know he has extra moves that he only uses if you ride Torrent, so that might be a punish for constantly making space on Torrent. That also seems to be what his Remembrance spell is based off of. I was curious about that too.
Babe wake up new Seereax just dropped
48:03 not once did I ever see Gaius do this move against me or anyone else until this videos. I didn't even know that existed until now.
I, for one, love when a boss charges me point blank with no windup whatsoever.
