Obtuse guitar solo. Nuclear. The moment the mirror flips, the edge, bright as you think god would be, reflecting the last light on what you perceive to know, but gives way to expansive, growing, infinite unlight.
This whole album makes me feel like our world getting consumed by this cosmic force with a disregard for everything in it's wake, humanity and the little bubble we live in cast aside and we live the rest of our lives witnessing the gradual degradation and degeneration of our world as we forever succumb and corrupt into an incomprehensible alien future, an ungodly distortion
Morbid Angel's finest hour. Trey and Tucker sharing vocals, Rutan on production, Trey and that fucking otherworldly, absolutely evil solo. Whole album kills, really, but this track in particular is something special.
Yes man, honestly Morbid Angel and Death Metal in general has some of the greatest, most profound and intellectual lyrics. I have always appreciated the linguistic IQ these bands exhibit in their songs. It's not just the music, but the songs gives you something to think about as well long after they are done. At One With Nothing is another great song with that idea... "Omniscient are the eyes that see beyond what we choose to see". It's nice to see others who appreciate the conceptual side of Morbid Angel. Cheers man.

the start of Trey's solo blows my mind, because it's blows my mind like, where did you even get the idea to make that sound?? it's so dark / eerie sounding and sets the perfect mood
Seriously can't comment enough for the solo. When it's alone it's atonal it makes little sense. Combined with the rythm section it's the best thing I ever heard. Pink Floyd would be like this if they where that heavy...these 2 minutes will live with me forever
And nothing outlines this fact more than the Steve Tucker era, a period through which their lyrics evolved into another dimension, pure spiritual brilliance.
3:00 is inspired by Job For A Cowboy- Embedded if you go to 3:00 on that song. Bummer that I have not seen anyone comment about this. THE SAME AS THIS SONG
Visions of the end of the world... a black hole opens and the starlit sky gives way to abismal darkness. The ground around me starts heaving and in the distance the city that I used to know so well, starts being sucked into a vortex, buildings come apart like toys, trees are ripped out of the ground and ascend into another vortex... all this happens in an unsettling silence as only the screams of millions can be heard in an insane symphony. The kingdom of God is now over and his angels cry tears of blood...
yeah!! It' s really romantic and danceable. (first time i heard Morbid Angel was this album, a room packed with people sleeping, i'm the last one awake, volume super down and i swear, my insmonia were hardcore at the time. that night i slept like a baby. i fell in love with this album and Morbid Angel . )

a shame that the vocals are mixed so high, cant listen to the riffs because theres 2 dudes screaming and its too fucking loud, sick solo from mr azagthoth tho
This album is a trip to another dimension.
That solo is insane. Trey really is the Jason Becker of death metal.

I love how Trey is credited as the singer for this song, those higher range screams must be him 🖤🖤
Such a strange solo, but it works so well. Very atmospheric. Trey’s vocals are great too. Wow I love this song.
it's not strange, it's from a place south of heaven

What you wrote will endure for all eternity
Morbid Angel brings the world together.
Treys vocals would fit in a black metal band as well
you can never be as good of a black metal singer as varg vikernes

H8work on domination is their most evil sounding I think.
Trey is like the only guitarist who can play chaotically and emotionally at the same time
also one of their most epic output's ... The combo vocals, the riff, the solo. ALL
One of the sickest extreme metal songs ever written... sick.... and the outtro solo is arguably the best outtro solo ever reacorded
This song also has a great lesson to be learned from the lyrics...learning to see past the limitations that we are given in life...awesome

the sickest solo I've ever heard
the Kind of music I want to listen to before going into battle
old school Morbid Angel truly are a Legend.
This is deathmetal!
not of this world
The first part of the guitar solo sounds like a demon daying, brutal.
trey and the solo is a really serious thing !
Love Trey vocals.
I thought Trey was a weird choice since Rutan was in the band at the time and could sing but in the end it sounds good.
Hes the ultimate goblin
