  • New Enhanced Night Vision Goggle-Binoculars (ENVG-B)
Anyway, night vision technology was first developed in the 1930s to aid military forces seeing in low-light environment. It was used in World War II and came into wide use during the Vietnam War. The technology has evolved significantly since their introduction, leading to several "generations" of night-vision equipment with improved performance and affordable prices. Additionally, the ENVG-B is part of a multi-year initiative to modernize the military's tools which was developed by the Israel’s Elbit Systems, an international defence electronics company. The Elbit started shipping the goggles to the Army last year in a deal worth up to $422 million. In which, a corporation offering night vision goggles online for $11,800 and $7,500 plus additional costs for batteries and accessories.

The ENVG-B was not developed by Elbit Systems but buy L3 Harris for the US Army. Elbit Systems delivered the SBNVG to the USMC which has a thermal clip-on device unlike L3's thermal technology which is fused into the goggle.

I was thinking the same thing. One thing to add, L3 and Elbit are pretty much the same company now, they’re just trying to avoid antitrust laws.

We lost 16,000 pairs of the old night vision goggles in Afghanistan.
You can buy the old goggles commercially in the US. It's only a matter of time until the new tech becomes available to the public too.

I remember being deployed in 2010 as an Infantryman and being told the hadjis had pvs14s, too, because too many people couldn't secure their s*** when the war started

@@Grunt-Barra It pisses me off that they check us as if we were some kind of corrupt sellouts, who would do dirty deals with the enemy and then they turn around do shit like this. Things like Trump and Biden having classified documents "in their garages" (so to speak) and that 20-something year old cybersecurity spec., who leaked intel. in his online gaming chats all gives me a case of the ass!

    "Role-playing games like Halo"
    Halo's a first person shooter.
But yes, I suppose, you could call it that. Sort of.
