- We are constantly inspired by our colleagues in the orchestra, and wanted to share with you a beautiful rendition of Telemann’s Fantasia, performed by Joy Fellows.
We would have been preparing for the fall season right now and learning our parts for Fidelio, Handmaid’s Tale, La Boheme, Cosi fan Tutti, and Rigoletto. It has been difficult to come to terms with the cancellation of our summer and fall seasons, and we are aching to make live music together. But although we are apart and our orchestra members have spread across the world, music keeps us connected. Our hearts are with each other. We are the San Francisco Opera Orchestra. We are family.

Stopped me cold.... kind of like the dog on the couch I just collapsed - eyes closed - and listened... spirited away from the the clatter of the insults and assaults raining down from on high. Carried away, for a moment at least, to a better place.

Great performance of a beautiful and much neglected piece. The name seemed a little confusing though. As far as I know this is not a piece written for viola but rather the first of Telemann's Fantasias for Violin Solo. He also wrote 12 Fantasias for Basse de Viol (viola de Gamba) which is what I was expecting, quite naïvely, from the title.

The only think I do not like is your poster......poor tortured geese!!
Nice rendering of this Fantaisie. Doggy enjoying the beautiful sounds. But what a terrible poster! Does everyone know the torture these poor geese go through? Think of your pet going through it and you might not want to eat foie gras again!
