A footpath level crossing over the busy, high-speed East Coast Main Line located within the village of Offord Cluny in between St. Neots and Huntingdon. There are no alarms here for the level crossing itself, and the only warning usually provided here for users is a set of Unipart Dorman red/green lights located on each side. Trains do sound their horns when approaching however. Various different train services are seen passing in this video, and a lot of noise can be heard from trackside engineers' alarms which were alerting workers of approaching trains at the time of my visit. Their tones change when a train approaches, almost giving the illusion that the level crossing has alarms, even though it hasn't. Still, it was very easy to predict when the lights were going to turn red for a train as a result!
The easiest way to access this level crossing is by walking down a small footpath which starts just at the side of the main 'road' level crossing in the village, and walking through a cemetery. A path should then be seen heading back towards the East Coast Main Line itself (this is the very same path which can be seen at the start of the video), and that will take you directly to this level crossing.
    Thanks for watching!

The was really confusing until I read the description. You would think the crossing would have alarms because of the length and the speed the trains approach it. I've always wanted to film one of warning devices the track workers use.

Yeah it was interesting and did make for that illusion. Those trackside alarms were sounding for the entire time I was in the area.

It's a trackside alarm to alert workers on the track that everything is clear( the short beeping) and then when the alarm sounds properly it means a train is coming. The actual crossing has no alarms

What was that other alarm before the footpath went off?

It was a trackside alarm which was sounding to alert some track workers of trains approaching. These were sounding for the entire time I was in the Offord area.

Surely the light should change when the sound comes on, if I was deaf I'd have walked on not realising and if I'd fallen the train would have been close

Read the description--the alarms aren't related to the crossing, they were incidental because of the presence of track workers. Normally, you'd only get the lights, which still give 30 seconds warning.
