Upscaling reveals a lot of things like that lol, when i did my AI texture pack for sonic adventure 2 I noticed in almost all the window textures you can see the photographer from SEGA taking the picture of the window in the reflection
@David-zr5gh 1, models are part of graphics. 2, it was impressive for its time, particle sims like that were pretty expensive and rarely done for videogames cinematics.
I will always be grateful this was my first Sonic game. Grew up watching Sonic X too, both of these made me absolutely love Sonic. To this day, the Adventure series is one of the most ambitious sonic games they’ve made.
I really hope we don't get one. Sonic Team kind of sucks now. I can see them turning it into another boost mechanic game which can be good when done well, but usually just suck. The dialogue in a lot of modern Sonic games are really cringey and I'm afraid that will slip into the remake. The music for modern sonic is more techno than the rock of the Adventure games, and techno would not compliment the games at all. Oh, and Sega refuses to pay union fees to get Ryan Drummond back as the voice of Sonic. It won't be a Sonic Adventure if Ryan Drummond isn't voicing him. They'd also probably rush the game out as a buggy mess.

I myself had wondered for years what was actually being said at that moment of the video before eventually listening to the whole song one day on youtube, then I found out.
If and only if they truly plan to make a remake for Sonic Adventure, they have to stay faithful to this opening. Music, cuts, camera everything other than the graphics must stay faithful to capture that maximum feeling of nostalgia. I want to feel shivers going down my spine as I'm watching the first few moments up until you see Perfect Chaos revealing itself. If that doesn't happen I swear to all that is holy!
@Winging Eye Oversaturated nostalgia is what ruins anything. Not just games. It's only when something is done over and over again is when nostalgia ruins the experience. That's the reason many aren't fond of Green Hill in many of the games excluding SA2. SA2 did nostalgia right.
Complete with awkward dialogue/pauses and janky movements? No thanks. If they ever remade this game they’d do well to not make it like how they made Shenmue 3 for example.

when you think of it, the guts they had to pull this off, showing basically the conclusion in the intro, also just how that transition from from the instrumental into open your heart
Imagine watching a random game event (Nintendo Direct, Summer Game Fest, The Game Awards, Sonic Central...) and suddenly, they say there is a new Sonic announcement, without giving further details, as it goes to the trailer, you just hear those familiar twinkles as you see the sky, and the camera slowly goes down revealing a city, totally HD, remade, in 16:9 with new models, with the quality of the current CGI Sonic cutscenes that we see in 06, Unleashed, Colors, Generations, Lost World, Forces and Frontiers... the opening then plays as you see everything here but totally remade and then the title "Sonic Adventure: Reimagined" appears
I have so much nostalgia for this game. I remember spending a ton of time at my Dad's place 100% completing the game, and especially the bonding with him over Big's stages, since my dad was an avid fisherman, and he adored Big. So many good memories wrapped up in this game.
in this intro you see the lightning strike with big the cat looking into the sky. that scene made me think big the cat was a cool character. the game tricked me and it probably tricked you too

This and its sequel are still the best goddamn 3D Sonic games ever made. The 2D Sonic games are legends in their own right. Sega really went all out for the Dreamcast Sonic titles. Our friends, my brother, and I all had a blast with the Sonic Adventure games. They made me want to go out and see the world with all the extreme locations. I really would like to see Chaos in the movies, but Shadow isn’t a bad alternative.
