    That was extremely useful info! Thank you. I am so happy to hear that more and more air lines are offering ESA!
    **RANT/VENT** But while I was watching this video and seeing all the info about the pets and what is all required, it reminds me, as a disabled person in a wheelchair, I have to fill out similar paperwork before I can get on an airplane. I have to prove my disability with notes and letters, I have to ensure that I have a caretaker on board and if I don't, they can refuse me for that flight. I also have to call and book my flight ahead of time, so let's hope I never have an emergency, I have to call and book a wheelchair room at the property as they do not list any of their accessible rooms online. Only to be told that they will "try" to have that room available for when I am there and that it is not guaranteed. Most properties charge more for wheelchair rooms citing that they have been renovated, even though most of the time their website says all rooms were recently renovated - why is this it more then?. I also have to write to cruise lines and other tour companies to see if they will allow me on itineraries for certain trips as they may choose not to let me join as my wheelchair may take up too much from on the coach. I need to submit a request and they will let me know if I can go or not. I never feel more disabled then when I want to travel.

    Hi! Possibly dumb question alert: are kids/minors "eligible" for ESAs? If so, are the rules the same? Thanks so much!

    We are so anti-dog in Australia that we cannot take animals on flights at all. I love Canada for its pro animal approach, despite the new restrictions for you.

      I know Australia is super strict! We looked into traveling to Australia with dogs and it's nearly impossible!

    I found this video to be very informative. However, I wonder what if your ESA/ Service Animal/Psychiatric Service Animal had to go potty really bad and he/she were on a plane? or on a bus like Peter Pan or Greyhound? What do you do then?

    • @herkythecavalier
      @herkythecavalier  5 лет назад +1

      LadyL31786 I don’t know... I guess they would just go? Haha

    • @Sandy33569
      @Sandy33569 5 лет назад

      LadyL31786 When resting, a lot of dogs can hold it for a surprising amount of time. Just potty them as close to boarding time as possible.

    • @sd.lulu.multipurpose5306
      @sd.lulu.multipurpose5306 3 года назад

      You should be having them go before you board. You have to prove your dog can hold the entire time or can safely go on the plane in a particular place. I would recommend not giving them food or water before hand.

    Just found out that the airline that i normally use, pets are not alllowed in cabin. Only cargo. Is it really safe to put in a cargo? Isnt stress for a dog? I was thinking about taking her to japan but that would be stresful for my baby. Did u hear any stories of pets being in cargo and how was the outcome?

    • @herkythecavalier
      @herkythecavalier  5 лет назад

      No it is not safe for dogs in cargo in my opinion :( I have heard a lot of stories where dogs die in cargo. It is very cold and stressful, very loud in cargo.

    • @wt0416
      @wt0416 5 лет назад +1

      @@herkythecavalier thats what i thought too. I heard of every horrible stories out there. Every planes should be pet friendly, like how they have pet friendlies for hotels, restaurant, etc. I mean pets are our babies. Too be honest dogs are better than kids. They don't talk back, they give u kisses and cuddles. Most importantly dogs, u can always baby them, kids on the other hand, give them tough love. I think there are more pro's than cons.

    I just got a cavalier puppy, I’m hoping she will be my emotional support dog when she is a bit older, I was wondering what if you are traveling and your dog needs to use the bathroom, like on the longer flights, or if for some reason your flight gets a delay what do you do?

      Herky The Cavalier so cool though that in Canada and the US ESA are allowed on planes. I'm a flight attendant in Germany, and we only carry PETC or SWAN (pet in cabin, in their carrier, weighing maximum 8 kg, or service animals of the blind, deaf or otherwise disabled). It would be great to finally carry them as ESA too 💜

    Mines more for housing. We live in a townhouse condo. The condo cooperation only allows one dog. My therapist says I would benefit with 2 ESAs so he wrote me a letter and
    now no problem:). I live in Ontario Canada.

    Hi Mai! Love your videos! I am an admin to a popular Facebook group, The Healthy Cavalier King Charles spaniel group. We currently have around 24k members, worldwide and much like you, we are strong advocates of raw feeding and in general, a natural approach to the health and wellbeing of dogs. We are a community group who share information from leading integrative wellness vets such as Dr Judy Morgan, Dr Karen becker, Dr Dobias as well as Rodney Habib ❤️ we would love it if you would join our group and perhaps reccomended it to some of your followers who may be considering the breed or those that have a cavalier but would like helpful information on keeping their dogs in the best health possible!
