I understand that FINALLY, at long last, there is now available SHRINK TAPE. Like shrink tube but in a tape format. You tape your connection THEN heat & it shrinks tightly around your connection. !
Back when I was an electrician, we used to also use it for lacerations. Not sure why, maybe something in the adhesive, or maybe because it stretched, but it would stop the bleeding quickly and seemed to encourage healing, more so than the typical "Bandaid."
I also am an electrician. I have a very comprehensive first aid kit in my truck. I always use electrical tape for minor cuts. Have a great day my brother.
😮😅😊 electrical tape first came out in 1946 from 3M company. It was a great invention of the time when this tape came out to me. It's a good invention from the past. That's when everything was brand new and people didn't know about it until it came out. Thank you! I'd use black electrical tape on a couple of things and it works very good.
Here's a suggestion for an upcoming ... All colored tapes use clear glue, but black colored tape still uses black glue. It's messy, stains wiring and is a hindrance to many electricians in the US. It has to stay that way for a reason ... its findable. 😁 50 years of arc & spark - now retired
I have developed a tip for automotive, motorcycle wires. Wrap the tape as usual, then, with gloves on, rub a thin layer of Gorilla glue over the tape. The resulting structure will last forever and the tape won’t unravel for years.
Electrical tape adhesive is its Achilles heel. They always get sticky and nasty once exposed to the environment for any length of time which then causes electrical tape to lose its ability to stay tight
My Grandfather used Friction Tape. Without adhesive, it relies on friction for the end to stick to the bundle. When adhesive electrical tape came along most everyone ditched friction tape ALTHO Home Depot does sell it, but I dont know why. I bought a new Ford Maverick made in Mexico. Curiously, all the electrical cables seem to be wrapped in friction tape. What? Adhesive electrical tape has yet to be introduced south of the border? So strange. !
Actually I hate these electrical tapes because when you need to remove the tape after longer time, everything that was under is terribly sticky and you cannot easily clean it...I prefer the Self-amalgamating tape, which is the best tape for this usage 😉
Electrical tape is also used by mechanics. In concert with paper towels, the two make good and fast bandages
😂
The best
Tradesman’s first aid staple for ever.
Ha Ha!
Trick is to unwind it then wrap wound. Otherwise it's too tight an cuts off circulation....

The white electrical tape is perfect for temporary marking using a solid marker pen.
Shout out to all the tapes!

😀👈👍 thanks for the response back my friend for liking my comment about electrical tape when it first came out in the 1940s. Thank you.
Narration is very simple to understand sir, Thank you,

There is also a liquid tape that you can paint on. For instance for a wire with a nick, or an exposed connection that regular tape won't work on.

Modern tapes don't stretch or conform as much as the ones made 30 years ago did as they are not as soft.
My favorite one is the one you have to pay more for because it has an OSHA label on it !
Amazing narration great informative video
Sometime wrinkles and gaps unavoidable. Combining heat-shrink properties to the tape would be very useful innovation.

Maybe a video on automotive electronic components. BCM, ECM, TPMS etc. The evaluation and tech advancements. Boe
Its a very useful thing.

It probably has adhesive, you can get both kinds.
I've got a idea for some new videos about how wire nuts and Teflon pipe tape are made
Other than taping wires for pulling in pipes or phasing, electricians are the only trade that doesn’t use electrical tape. 😂

It certainly is. I use it quite a lot at work and you don't get any sticky residues.
Please make a video about pyrotechnics in detail. Thanks a lot.
When I was younger I used the red one like bandaid 😊
I have one connection i made with 33 on a out side power line that is still holding after 40 years
It gets sticky after long time. I choose heat shrink now.
I like tape.
Another tape is wrapping tape for prevent or anticorrosion tapes for underground steel pipe
The way they were wrapping the wire was weak it needs to be tighter
Interesting
Good video though
Actually it’s not electrical tape because of the resistance to high voltage so it’s just called tape
👍👍
Its obviously the heat sleaves
Harbor Freight electrical tape does not work well I've noticed. It is very low cost and cheaply made.
Now make is oil resistant......
Please.
How about socks as a subject
