I have pretty intense OCD. Old clips from How It's Made are my go-to when anxiety turns to insomnia in the wee hours of night, so this video is perfect! Thanks for the years of comforting and enlightening material.
It's crazy how the clips in this video span 13 years, and the oldest ones hold up just as well as the most recent ones. How It's Made had 416 episodes and was putting out great segments from the very beginning to the very end.
@@dylanmcshane9976 The soothing narration, the upbeat background music, the clear and understandable presentation of enough detail to be informative but not so much detail that the segment feels busy, the quick jokes in the segments...I've seen other shows like "How Do They Do It?" and "Factory Made" try the format, but "How It's Made" really caught lightning in a bottle.
i love the fact that the science channel has long form videos of how its made. i loved this show when i was a littke kid and i am glad i can watch it again as a teen. it calms me and helps me destress during the school year
I'm glad I'm not the only one! The narrator's voice is soooooo soothing and easy to sleep to. NOT THAT HES BORING SOUNDING!!! Before any of you come for me in the comments, I mean his voice is beautiful, soothing, and so relaxing to listen to! I love it!!!! Absolute GOLD!!!!😉
Watching this hour-long video of How It's Made is actually right now making me sleepy. I love sleeping. And these satisfying processes show me... 🥱 how this comfort gives us a good night's sleep. 😴
The last product is a mattress made by the Edward McRoskey Mattress Company of San Francisco founded in 1899 and still in business. I don't know if production methods/ownership have changed, however, at one point the company still used equipment that dated from the early part of the twentieth century and the manufacturing process appears to be more labor intensive than other more recognized brands. As an example, the price for a twin mattress from the Classic Collection starts at $3,200.00. I lived in San Francisco for over twenty five years and walked by what was the factory at 1687 Market Street many times. I recall they had a tiny sample mattress on display in the window on which they placed a corresponding tiny teddy bear. That building, purpose built by Edward McRoskey in 1925, is still standing.
great video! I really enjoyed the behind-the-scenes look at how these products are made. however, I wonder if the focus on "essentials" is a bit overhyped. I feel like sometimes it's more about marketing than actual necessity. What do you think?
I had to recently get a new mattress after my old one got a massive hole, apparently my old mattress was from the 60's/70's, found that out from researching an advert that was stuck on the mattress
I thought that was an odd choice too, but maybe they're meant as a midnight snack. Either way, I can't complain about getting to see those mouth-watering cookies 😋🍪
Definitely never buy candles that are made by anything other than 100% soy (or other organically occurring wax). You don’t want to be breathing in stuff like plasticizers (phthalates).
These hour long videos are MY sleepytime essential

Pretty hard to mess up factual presentation of machines. Doesnt take much skill either. What exactly are you praising?

Ahh Yes...Brooks Moore. One of the Best Voice-Over artists in the industry!
"Not sure what to choose? Sleep on it" 🤣🤣🤣
Son of a gun did it again!
Ah the golden age of content when learning channels actually taught you something and were relaxing instead of nonsense drama "reality" shows
I’m so thankful the Science Channel
To soothe your tired tootsies is crazzzy
Ah yes. Chocolate chip cookies. The all-time essential for sleep.
I've been buying pillows my entire life and never have I heard the word blown or Garnett in describing them.
they just call them firm or soft on packaging
Hows it made is my childhood hero period

Who remembers the DaThings YTP that features yhe pillows video?
I didn't know people still had water beds
Chocolate chip cookies connection with the sleep theme ?
I thought that was an odd choice too, but maybe they're meant as a midnight snack. Either way, I can't complain about getting to see those mouth-watering cookies 😋🍪
waveless, leakless, I had no idea waterbed tecnology had come so far.🤔
They dont say, that when filled, waterbeds can weigh a ton and can make the stumps of your house sink, and crack the walls.
You want a blown pillow, you dont want a garnet pillow. Got it
I'm confused at what cookies have to do with sleeping
You forgot blankets and teddy bears

Down is awful! The bird is held down, and the feathers are ripped out of its body!
Pretty sure down is collected from nests but okay
@@xiodendum No. Angora is collected the same way. The information is out there if you do some research.
@holdingstrong8686 after doing some research, down is collected from the body ONLY AFTER SLAUGHTER :) not while the birds are alive. No pain.
