- Waffle House waitress Evoni Williams didn't hesitate to help a customer who was having trouble cutting his food. But soon word spread, thanks to a stranger who caught the moment on camera. CBS News correspondent Omar Villafranca explains.

Good. But what is kind of telling. In this day and age this is considered a big deal. In the not too distant past that would just be considered common courtesy. The fact that it is considered unusual is a reflection of the times, I suppose.

I love this. In America, we do not revere our elders. Instead they are discriminated against and shunned. We all have to remember that if we are blessed enough to accumulate a full head of wisdom, we would want to be treated with kindness and patience. Blessings to that waitress. Acts like these mean the most.

I'm a WH waitress as well and I have a customer who comes in who had a stroke and has completely lost all use of the right side of his body and I always cut his waffle up for him no matter how busy we are.. He orders a waffle and bacon every time he comes and he's just the sweetest little old man.

The Bible says in James 4:17 "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin". This gentle-lady did really applied towards that elderly, that kindness brought her nothing but blessings.

ALMIGHTY GOD BLESS HER IMMENSELY THROUGHOUT HER ENTIRE LIFE! She showed COMPASSION toward someone who needed it... JUST AS GOD IS COMPASSIONATE TOWARD US! God does for his children what He knows we cannot do for ourselves.
I think it's nice that they honored this girl but it's also sad that our society has gotten to a point where that's just my normal.
This is not about jealousy this is just sadness because I remember America being different.
My dad used me well when he was a kid he had neighbors that helped each other and he lived they lived in California. They don't have money most of my family doesn't have money but there's always been this concept of helping one another.

I think it's because at one time, not too long ago, this kinda behavior was normal.
It's upsetting for some to realize how actions that were once normal societal interactions (many of the younger generation of adults have a hard time in engaging or interacting with people outside their circle of friends or outside of social media) or acts of kindness are now taken as rare, beyond the norm acts of human kindness.
That was extremely nice I God bless her soul I care for my elderly father I have caring for him for about two years going on three and I am proud to say that it brings me great pleasure in assisting him with his every day routine from getting him dressed,bathing him, shaving him ect.I have been unemployed since he fell unfortunately in or around the state of New Mexico or the city of Las Cruces NM the adult protective agency does not have anybody that will modify my father s bathroom to help him with his condition.They also don't have any body to care for him 24/7 so I stepped up in my family and have been caring for him 24/7 and decided that my elderly father comes first. Unfortunately the rest of my family members had taken my father for granted my sister and her son's ex girlfriend coned my elderly father into signing a huge mortgage which was extremely unkind because my father is illiterate he didn't know what he was signing they took advantage of him.😔😔👌

When I found out I brought this problem up to the attention of the local police department as well as adult protective agency and neither of them did anything.I tried explaining to them that it is fraud when have an elderly person sign a financial contract when the person doesn't know what he or she is signing. I also confronted the bank because I paid for my parents residency and had a public notary for the State of New Mexico put a written lean on our residency and the bank broke my lean.😔😔😔

Honestly its sweet of her but I do this every Tuesday when my regular comes on like this and for children it's our job to be as helpful as possible. So she is just following the waffle house serving ways.
