Actually, that would be less efficient. When you go in a straight line, each time you clear a 2-block set, you reveal 8 new blocks that you couldn't see before (two on the right, two on the left, two behind that you're about to clear next, one above, and one below. If you were to turn somewhere in the middle of you strip and clear two blocks, you only reveal four new blocks you couldn't see before (the two on the left and two on the right were already visible). If you turn at the very end of your strip (like zig-zagging), you only reveal six new blocks. The most efficient method is to go straight indefinitely.

I just found a insane way to X-ray 😱😆
Basically crouch on a block to the very corner, go slightly right while spam placing a block on the block ur on. This method works coz I messed with the hitboxes lol
