Loved this song then, love it now. Brings back great childhood memories. Peter Doyle was my first crush. He also had an incredible voice, the voice of the New Seekers. RIP Peter. Sadly you died way too young.
I had a crush on him too when I was a teenager and then I heard he got kicked out of the band because he was beating up Lyn Paul, his girlfriend. Men who beat up women are not men - they are tossers.
Was lucky enough to be there loved the Seekers and The New Seekers still have all their releases on vinyl n regularly play them. They didn't need a back up musicians, were talented musicians and singers
Really gets the toes tapping and puts one in a happy frame of mind. I never knew that the New Seekers put out so many songs. Thus was in my late teen years. A real joy to hear them and get to really appreciate their music.....from when music was just that! Appreciated the video thanks!
Oooo, I'm jealous. I was only 14 and on the wrong side of the Atlantic. It must have been great. I love watching these New Seekers concert videos on RUclips.
I was at that concert. I had a mega-teenage crush on Peter Doyle. Great band. And then I heard he was beating up his girlfriend Lyn Paul and the band threw him out. I'm with the band. PD didn't deserve to die young of throat cancer but you don't beat up your girlfriend.
I think they played a similar concert in the Usher Hall in Edinburgh. I wanted to go, but because I was only 12, my Dad didn't let me go... so glad to watch these clips.
Think the appearance at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh may have been the 1972 Eurovision Song Contest. Been in iit once to see Big Country and Hugh Cornwall who was in the Stranglers.A fairly small but brilliant venue.Amazing that they held the Eurovision Song Contest in such a small venue.
@@stephenwoods5630 : You are right, the Eurovision Song Contest was staged in the Usher Hall in Edinburgh in 1972. I was a member of the New Seekers Fan Club in the 70's, and I remember that, as part of their 1973 UK tour, they played at the Usher Hall, the Caird Hall in Dundee and the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
Fine for a pub perhaps, but given that this is the Royal Albert Hall, you'd expect a bit more then just 3 guitars. No drums, keyboards? Or even a costume change. Somebody was saving a lot of money here
That's beautiful song 🎸🎸🎸🎸😍💞❤️🤩❣️🥰

i can't believe I've found this! I WAS THERE!
What a fantastic song loved Lyn Paul and Eve Graham two stunners
Amazing, 5 voices, 3 (occasionally 4 guitars) plus a banjo and one or two amplifiers...Wowww!!
This album and the beach boys ... is what got me into music
The background to my youth. Thanks for posting.
R.I.P Peter Doyle❤

I've always loved this song and always will!

This is actually the only one I really remember from them and bought the single of at the time. Love it so much still!

You were on the wrong side of the Atlantic and I was stuck right down the bottom of the Pacific. Living in the UK now and rediscovering music I love!!

Ahh Lyn Paul!
My sentiments exactly Tom - the one and only!
Marty Kristian was one sexy dude!
Did you notice Peter Doyle's guitar gymnastics?
God they had some underwhelming material, and yet their cover of Pinball Wizard....incredible
it is a fantastic show but I feel it really needs a backing band..

They didn't need anything, just their incredible voices
