Unfortunately the caving here in Colorado isn't the best... We have almost tripled known caves in Colorado since 1980 but we still have less than 1000.
This is one cave I would have gave up on... a bit too tight for my personal comfort and my desire to maintain safety! There might be a big payoff at the end (isn't there always?) but the feeling of overwhelming claustrophobia and fear of getting stuck would definitely prevent further exploration ! But, you guys are incredible! You keep advancing deeper to find that big payoff, despite the odds and apparent risks... including trapped bobcats! Thank you for the journey!
I look and say nah that's blocked...AAT look and say wow! - it goooooooos! I'm not claustrophobic but your videos give me essentially the vertigo of claustrophobia haha!
you guys are CRAZY!! If I was looking at a size 9 shoe I would NEVER try to put my size 13 foot in it. Just sayin'. Here is to hoping you ALWAYS make it out alive. Thanks for the videos. You do a great job of catching the experiences on the videos.
Yeah I think he chickened out lol there was nothing there and no noises, BELIEVE ME if there was a wildcat in there you would have heard high pitch wines and growls...... Iv been 'to close' to cornered Pennsylvania wild cats to know, you would have heard or seen it.... Great video though and I wouldn't have had the you know what's to crawl in there in the first place lol
Nope, my small 24" monitor that I use for image editing and the video quality at 1080P frame by frame from the time he crawled up to that spot until he started backing out and I could not find anything either, other than one spot where there MIGHT be a shadow in the center of the hole, but even that could have been a shadow cast from the cameras light... Perhaps he heard it?
We suspect that the mountains the caves are in got worn away into dirt and sinkholes opened up into the cave and water brought the dirt from outside into the cave
Great video!!! Brings back memories of my caving days 50 years ago. I can remember taking a girl caving and when we got there she said, " I didn't know it going underground" Duh....lol
You guys definitely need some sort of digging equipment on top of having that shovel to open stuff up more. Also, the scratches on the wall, plus the bobcat, means that's probably its den lol
That was truly amazing. I have property. That’s kind of a little mountain in Kentucky and at the bottom by the roadway that goes out to the large or I should say many river, there are two holes that look like that that appeared to be where the water was, probably running through the mountain and coming out.I’m thinking I need to find a shovel and do a little digging… Keep up the good work guys. True explorers.
Try a garden hoe with a welded blade. The shovel seems a little inefficient. Can extend the garden hoe, grab and pull the dirt and debris out of the way more efficiently. Thanks for the vids 😊❤

You push like I do that's why they call me the mole. All you need to do is relax and be calm. Remember caving is fun and exciting. I had a roof collapse down on me dirt come down in a small passage like that behind me. Boy did that suck. That was the only time I was really nervous in a cave. I had to dig myself out of a bye bye 5 room 2 in of airspace once I got spun around and did a handstand flip.😅 Got to watch those dirt passages where water has brought in a lot of silt.😅 After watching this I'm definitely getting underground.😅😅 Your friend from Pennsylvania nittany grotto

@2:40 - how does something like this even form? I mean, I understand how water will erode the rock as it passes underground, but the hole there.... how and why is it there? Is it from when the river was higher up in the canyon millennia ago where it found it's way in to the ground and made that hole?
How do creatures like bobcats navigate through the total darkness? How do the find their way out too? That's mysterious to me. They don't have radar like bats. How come they don't fall down holes?
"I might be stuck" is a gut wrenching and butt puckering thing to hear you say in that moment.
Especially since no one else can get to him, he said he was the only one skinny enough to get back there
This is the most claustrophobic watching a caving vid In a while
Yes it is 🤢

At 14:53 there appears to be charcoal writing or drawing on the rights side wall, large writing as well perhaps 4" or more?
It appears to be a rectangle with some kind of writing inside of it. It looks very old but unfortunately it's guarded by a bobcat.
