When you slow down I understand. The minute you speed up my brain freezes. Thank goodness for slow mode replay. Thank you for doing this series!!! It’s very helpful for understanding the process.
That's exactly why I wanted to have some RUclips tutorials! lol So that ppl can pause the video, go back, and adjust the speed! Glad you found these helpful! 😁
Love this. So helpful. Are you planning a tutorial for each beginner pattern?
@@terri-lynnmcmeekin882 Yes! 🫶🏻
@@terri-lynnmcmeekin882 Yes! More coming soon! I have also just posted 4 new videos (look in the 'live' tab on my channel) of the spider bookmarks too! 😄
@@GaliciaBee yay! Going to watch them now. Thank you.
I love that you show how a very experienced person can make mistakes
Oh my goodness!!!. Such a beautiful art to know, you are very fortunate to have learned it. I have always been art oriented and over the years, I have picked up several mediums. I think I am at the autumn of my years and too late to start another, especially one that requires such dexterity of the hands and brain. I appreciate your knowledge and give you practice.🙏🏼♥️
Oh my goodness, thank you! I honestly feel like it’s never too late. My Mom just started learning a year ago and she will be 71 this month!
I just watched part 1 & 2 but don’t see part 3, did it get taken down?
I'm also looking for it!

@@elenidamianou2032it’s there
@@elenidamianou2032 @angmbri part three is up on her channel, if you find the Bobbin Lace BEGINNER SERIES playlist it's there. The playlist had 5 videos and seems to be out of order but part 3 is in there.
I had to place it in the search box and it popped up.
Hello, this was fascinating to watch. I have subscribed and rang the bell. I am just learning. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I look forward to watching more of your videos and no distracting music..
Hi, I am enjoying your lessons. Thanks so much!
Wonderful tutorial! I was just thinking if someone did this on a large scale let's say yard long, oy I could only imagine the time it would have taken to make a bolt of lace for a curtain or a shawl. You have my respect!
Thank you! 🤗
Okay, so I'm starting to understand how the bobbins move across each other, but now I'm curious: Do I have to work in the diagonals, or I can I work the pairs in rows instead? Is there a reason for working the diagonals? or is it simply because its more convenient to work with the bobbins closest to you?
Awesome! 👏
You’ve got it! It helps me stay organized. 👍 Not a rule, just a preference.
what a great idea- make headband and matching earrings. Can we see how they turned out?
Check out some of my other videos here! 😄
Thanks!
Did you make your pillow? Love your tutorials. Thank you
I didn't make this one, but it is locally made. It is a traditional Galician bolster pillow, stuffed with straw. 😊
Hi Sarah. Will you be making a video to show how to work the triangle edge from your basic ground Etsy patterns? This one with the straight edge went great, but I’m not figuring out the triangle edge at all. I’m sure I’m missing something simple but I’ve tried to start it a couple of times and no luck. Thanks!!
@@GaliciaBee That looks like it’s for starting at a point. Will it work for the one from your beginner patterns that is straight across? It’s the one you titled “Basic Ground Pattern 1” and is 1 2 2 2 1 bobbins horizontally and has a triangular edge. Thanks again for all of you help!
Oh oops! 🤦♀️ Here’s the link to the straight edge: ruclips.net/user/livelDC6aew37AA?si=w2qAOj1s014EvHEW
@@GaliciaBee Yep. That’s the straight edge from page. I did pretty well with that one. I’m trying to figure out the one from page 5 that has the triangle edge.
I think I understand now! Yes, it will work for the beginner patterns too, if you like! Give it a try! 😁
so when i realised it took almost 10 minutes to get set up to start...

What are you supposed to do when finishing?
At what point can you reuse the needles further down the lace?
Hi! You can reuse pins so long as removing them won't upset the tension of the threads throughout the piece. I usually keep all of the pins around the outside edges and about 2 inches from the bottom. Check out some of my other tutorials to see how to finish projects, such as this one: ruclips.net/user/liveE-lntrzwTvA?si=0fg7XG2HgFLwvQWj
Can i use embroidery thread? And do i have to split it or? I used 3 strands for the second bobbin lace pattern for this series but the end result was that there was a lot of space inbetween each colored thread.
Embroidery thread is great! And 3 strands is what I would recommend too!
Three stands is what I have found to work well
Me encantas como enseñas pero mi inglés no llega para entender todo😢
X favor no podrías traducir al español?
En el futuro, espero que sí. 🫶🏻
I don't understand nothing. Too much speed
You can adjust the speed of the video, María. 😊 And you can pause and watch parts again.
