Thanks for the long video. I think you should definitely try and see what his profile lools like. Dorian has a lot of experience outside of Upwork and I want to see how he approached this, especially if it was his first time trying out Upwork ( I think he says here he tried it in the past as well ) I'm looking at it from this point of view: If you're a developer ( irrespective of your tech stack ) who just joined upwork, and has no reviews on there, and nothing to show for, except a portfolio of projects you've built to showcase your skills- then how do you secure a decent client for decent money and not some cheap client. If you're someone like that, I've heard it's impossible to do, just like Dorian says here. So I'm intrigued to see what his approach was and how he could've done better. A good topic for your next big video can be something related to this. Try creating a brand new profile from scratch, with no reviews and only your portfolio. See how long it takes for you to get a good client. Very few RUclipsrs have done this imo and it'll be interesting to see how hard/ easy it is to get momentum on Upwork in 2024 as a beginner. Cheers :)
@@AlecG Don't mention it man. I know it's tough but if you can make a video about the topic I just discussed it'd be fantastic. Could bring a lot of clarity on this issue.
What you are saying makes sense. The majority tends to follow emotions i.e. instant gratification. You can predict what option the majority will pick in a scenario by simply taking note of where your emotions are leaning towards (this can also help in writing proposals etc). e.g. in freelancing, see how the majority is trying to get success, that is exactly how your emotions would lean towards as a beginner. Those who succeed realize this and take a step back to think intellectually instead, often disregarding the majority opinion in the process. EDIT: The majority usually follows emotions => Following emotions = Instant gratification => Success usually comes from delayed gratification. Conclusion: Explore areas and opinions other than what the majority is doing (in addition).
Hello sir, my name is Sunita. I am a graphic designer. I have 3 years of graphic design experience. I have been working on Upwork for the last 1 year. I specialize in Canva and Adobe Photoshop. I am very excited to design thumbnails for you. If you also want me to design your thumbnail, then I will wait for your responses.
@@Akramisdesinger of course, I have made a course on how to find jobs on Upwork. Here's a link to it: store.alecguniversity.com/d04e2812-42ed-4984-a875-3d72de314046
