Suddenly, Silas pulls back and stares down at me, heat and worry mingling in his eyes. “ Shit, Rose, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean- “ I cut him off when I yank on his T - Shirt and pull him down to my level, sealing my lips to his. He walks forward without breaking the kiss, pushing us into the wall. His hands frame my face and my hands cup his neck. Oh my God. I’m kissing Silas. What the hell?!

“Maeve! What were you thinking? You could’ve killed yourself. I-” Luca rubbed his temples, seething beneath what was left of his calmer, more practical exterior. “--All the better, no?” Maeve laughed softly, a shadow crossing her face before she masked it with another cheeky smile. “It means I’d be out of your hair, detective.” She held her hands up in a placating gesture, her sharp eyes briefly looking Luca up and down. “...Wouldn’t you like that?” Luca’s arms folded across his chest defensively. How could she possibly think that? Maeve was certainly not the most innocent of them all, but that never meant Luca would wish death upon her. He thought about it for a moment. The idea of Maeve’s forever absence actually made his stomach twist up in knots, leaving him with a sinking feeling of nausea. “No,” he replied, averting his gaze. Absent-mindedly, he kicked a rock on the pavement, feeling rather hollow inside. “No?” Maeve repeated, twisting a strand of her dark hair around her finger. Her mouth was slightly open as she smiled, squinting at him as the sun shined in her eyes. “I suppose I’m supposed to know what that means.” She sighed, a long and heavy breath escaping her lips. She tapped her chin in mock consideration for a moment, before inevitably shrugging. “Well, spoiler alert: I can’t read minds, bozo.” “..Oh, I.. um, right…” Luca mumbled, scratching his neck. “So, now I’ve got some explaining to do?” His blue eyes flicked back up to her face, and he felt his cheeks grow hotter. All Maeve did was nod slowly, her stare never wavering from his. “Um.. Okay. I.. I guess I just don’t want to see someone die?” Luca fumbled with his words, his tongue refusing to make things sound right. He sure sounded flustered, and it only fueled Maeve’s amusement. “Uh huh,” Maeve didn’t look convinced. She blinked at him, swaying on her feet as she considered her options. Her eyes swept the road around them, lingering on the alleyway that she had scaled moments before Luca had intercepted her. The chase had been fun, but talking to him… eh, not so much. She had never been fond of the ‘good guys.’ Sensing her growing detachment, Luca piped up again. “I really just don’t want to see you get hurt, you know? Regardless of whether the police are in pursuit of you, please stop jumping between all those buildings!” He stepped closer, hesitating briefly before grabbing her wrist. Lightly, he twisted it, revealing the bruises along her forearm. “Look. Does that not hurt? Don’t lie to me, Maeve, please-” Maeve’s idea had come rather sudden, and she didn’t stop herself as she went with it. She knew the repercussions, and yet, her impulses drove her. Hastily and efficiently, she cupped his cheek with one hand. This is what made Luca stop in his train of thought, his eyes widening. “What.. What are you doing?” Luca stammered, releasing her wrist. Instead of moving away, however, his hand found her waist, keeping her in the embrace. “Shh…” Maeve murmured, her eyes fluttering shut just momentarily. That’s when she kissed him. And all Luca wanted was to deepen that kiss, to hold her tighter, remind her that she was loved… PART 1: with added details ofc ;) But it was short-lived. Maeve pulled away as soon as her lips brushed his. “So… Am I going to turn into a frog now?” she asked gently but jokingly, still close enough that Luca could feel her breath on his cheeks. Her head moved up to look him in the eyes, her freckles more prominent with the way the sun casted shadows on them. He flushed a bright red, pulling her hand away from his cheek. “You… you didn’t have to do that!” He struggled to collect himself, appearing more frazzled by the minute. “Now I’m all…” he paused, searching for the right word. “...Tingly,” he finished, though he instantly regretted his choice of words. “But it shut you up, didn’t it?” Maeve laughed, a playful twinkle in her eyes as she nudged him. “Besides, I’ve been dreaming about it for far too long. Had to see for myself if it was really as good as I imagined.” Luca’s lips curved up, but he instinctively bit back the smile. He had to remind himself that this was Maeve he was talking to. “Was it…?” he asked cautiously, testing the waters. Maeve tipped her head to the side. “Oh, wouldn’t you like to know!” she chuckled, swatting a hand in the air as though that was the funniest thing she’d heard all day. “Catch you around, detective.” She mimed tipping an imaginary hat on her head. And off she went. Luca watched her walk away, his hand pressed up against his lips as he still felt the warmth of hers lingering there. The villian mused, a dangerous glint in his eyes, looking down upon her standing far below him, under the ragged steel structure he was standing upon. "You-," the detective stuttered, her pupils blown wide. "Yes, _me._ I already abducted the mayor. He's hidden away some place you'll never find." She looked up at him with a dead look in her eyes. Turned her eyes to the side. Then made a quiet sigh, swiping a hand down her face. "No, you idiot. I meant get off the ledge." A muscle in her jaw ticked. She added, her cheeks growing hot as she muttered, "It's dangerous up there."

After all our planning-“ It was at this point Jane started blocking out all Sasha was saying, and started focussing on her as a person. She started focussing on her uniform which they had stolen together from an unsuspecting guard. She started focussing on her cheeks, flushing red from talking this loud. She started focussing on her eyes, those gorgeous stormy rings glistening with emotion and tears. She landed on her lips. Mouthing insults disguised as compliments. *That* was Sasha’s style. She wasn’t one to tell you off and stay angry. When she cared about you enough, she would let that love take over more than anything else. That’s what Jane loved about her. She took slow steps forward. Sasha started stuttering her words as she watched her do so. “J- Jane. I’m so mad at-“ She kissed her. She kissed that woman who had helped her, when she didn’t have to.
