    That was a lot of information and excellently presented, while it is a lot to process, I feel a lot better with better equipped knowledge. I have made an appointment for HPV testing and I'm mentally prepared for that.

    Hello there! Thanks for the explanation, I am glad I found it. I am a professional singer and vocal teacher that struggled with rrp for 5 years.. I got 5 surgeries on my right vocal chord and it has been emotionally and psychologically very difficult because of my profession. Almost 2 years past from my last surgery now and I really hope I will not need this anymore! I have couple of questions: what is the best way to boost the immune system? Is there something specific that rrp patient can do to prevent it on a daily base?
    Thanks a lot!

    Such a great video. Thank you for it. I've had a very hoarse voice with no other symptoms for 4+ years now and had thought it is silent reflux (possibility it still is). But after going to an ENT he thinks it may be this and I'll be getting a biopsy to confirm.

    I had cervical cancer from HPV and had a radical hysterectomy at 39. When the vaccine came out I was older than the suggested age of 28 but was never made aware the age had increased! I wish I'd known. As a singer who has recently had trouble with my voice for the first time in decades of overuse this is enlightening. Perhaps I should ask about being subtyped.

    I heard receiving Gardasil 9 vaccine would alleviate(or even pause the growth of the virus in respiratory system)the RRP symptoms. Is it true? I would be grateful if you would clarify this for me...

      The answer to this is controversial. Technically, the vaccine should not help since it is directed at proteins involved in getting the infection, not maintaining it. That said, there are some who believe it can tame the infection to some degree. I believe it should be considered if the person is having a tough time with rapidity of recurrence.

    Does the body really clears the virus completely? Is that possible. Or does it clears most of infections? Can i transmit the virus to others once i developed the immunity?

    • @joanbaczek2575

      You always have hpv once you have it . Your immunesystem keeps it dormant in some cases with some subtypes . Hpv 16 and 18 can stay in your system with no symptoms the 20 years later surprise you have head and neck cancer

    I have RRP. Been treated for it since a kid. As a kid surgery was awful but it didn't worry my lifestyle. Now full grown haven't been treated since 17 and now many years later struggling to speak. I know I need treatment.

      So sorry to hear this. I don't think you will find "adult" surgery so bad. The key is to find a good surgeon. If he or she can show you good quality pictures of what is wrong and has at least several other patients under active treatment, and seems to know a lot about the disease, that often signals a potentially good person to see.

      So sorry to hear this. Sometimes a series of 3 procedures can be done ~2M apart with an injected adjuvant (mostly cidofovir or bevacizumab) can either win territory or make the problem lazier. The key is meticulous removal.

    cool story, how much does it cost?

    • @Laryngopedia
      @Laryngopedia  Месяц назад

      Cost for treatment varies by place of treatment a LOT. The practice manager at whatever practice you choose could give you an estimate.

    What do you think about the IV administrated avastin? there have been some trials that have shown really good outcomes.

    • @Laryngopedia
      @Laryngopedia  2 года назад +1

      It is usually reserved for people with pulmonary disease...But with this disease process, everything comes down to individualization...

      @@Laryngopedia thanks for the reply. I ended up going this route and giving this trial with IV avastin infusion. I can say my body took a toll but the outcome is very positive as it has allowed my voice to become “ normal “ I hope it helps it from spreading or growing. At least to maintain it

    Well, RRP is not a.k.a. HPV, because HPV is only the cause. RRP a.k.a. Laryngeal Papillomatosis would be better.
