A great soldier and a great gentleman. LTC (Ret) Shehab passed away Dec 10, 2020 at the age of 101. Rest In Peace, Sir. RESPECT!
Rip
These tapes are priceless. These men live on here sharing their trials and tribulations with us. LTC (Ret) Shehab officer
and a gentleman. Salute to you.
He passed away on my birthday. RIP.
My grandfather stormed Omaha beach and on to Bostogne. The terror he faced affected generations of our family. God bless those heros that faced evil and hellfire for the future generations.
The price one pays!!! God bless America.
This man is a legend. Thank you for your service to our country and for being a Patriot.
He was talking about it like he was there yesterday, very impressive 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I like that he was talking about the bolsh3viks
My great uncle fought through that battle. Had two or three M4 Sherman tanks shot out from under him. The last one left him with shrapnel in his back that he let my brother and I feel the scar tissue bumps on his back near his spine. Uncle Virgil
"I took an oath".
If only our elected officials held their oath as seriously as this Hero.
I could listen to these men all day.. Seems like there was an unwritten code, In which many of them didnt talk about what took place. You knew that they were in the service and you knew that they fought in the war.. That was about as much as they were willing to share for many years.. Thank you guys for giving them a chance to finally let it out and tell their stories ..
The time comes when these men have to unburden themselves of those terrible memories, especially when they are coming to the Twilight of their years. It's as though they didn't do it earlier, so they wouldn't have people questioning or judging them throughout their lives.
I do listen to these men all day long....😆
The last part of this interview is, by far, the most important message to be understood by those who may not have been given such important information before.
My friends father was in the Battle of the Bulge in the "101st....Really neat gentleman! Every winter when it became snowy or foggy he would have nightmares.
Snow, fog and cold weather were his triggers. He should have gone south for the winters, because we hardly ever have snow in the southern Texas area, and the cold stays in high 30s to 40s.
I had a 3rd cousin whos hand would shake when ever it thundered ... He was in the bulge .
More people need to watch this
This man's a genuine patriot. Thank you so much, sir.
Interesting story that would make a terrific movie and teach many lessons. Thank you for your Service to our Country and for our freedom!
Alfred wanted to fight against The Bolsheviks. All these interviews , I finally hear one guy who understood who the real enemy is.
Im a millennial and i totally agree that we need to teach more about what it takes to get the rights and freedoms eveyone takes for granted. Its insane we tolerate teachers pushing marxist anti American rhetoric in school.
Who allows this trash to be taught in our schools? They should all be fired because their minds are tainted.
Gen X...nice to see a younger person with their head on right. WHen i came up we were proud , said the alleigance every day at school. SOciety didn't squabble so much we used the common sense rule. Now common sense seems something to attack just to make a buck off the media storm. ITs disgraceful, I'm not proud as I was and I wouldn't volunteer to serve now
It seems a reform honoring our new future is in order. It's more of a every man for himself situation.
Alfred Shehab, I like you !! Thank you for all you have done and still do !!! FEW GIVE BACK, FEW GIVE AS YOU HAVE !!
Be looks great for being in his 90’s he looks more in his 70’s or early 80’s
True. He is a well kept senior citizen.
Its cuz he dont drink
Thank you Mr. Shehab 🙏🏽
I would really enjoy to talk to this gentleman and listen to his story.
This interview need to be seen by every young person AND is a good reminder for the older generation. Freedom is not free. Showing respect for our flag and the lives that were lost to buy the freedom we enjoy today was very costly. May we never forget. Thank Yo Lt Col. Shehab, may you rest in peace!
My dad has 6 brothers, every one went to VIetnam and all came back, well one blew his head off later but still
You're a brave soul!
guy just gets started talking about the good stuff and u go and do a break nice
Thank You Alfred for sharing your story - its important for people to know it and others that served at this time.
Mr. Sheehab to you and me.
@@dr.barrycohn5461 no, LTC Sheehab.
@@missysbloglife I didn't understand your reply.
Great interview. Thank you for sharing this man's story.
Interesting military life story, this honored Veteran.
Thank you very much for your stories and your service to this country. God Bless...
Why limit the time for such interviews? He could have told so much more
My grandfather was captured and held hostage by the Germans at the Battle of the Bulge. Came back home never quite the same. He and the others who fought and gave so much are to be commended and never forgotten. True hero’s
my great uncle was there with the Canadians, he left his leg there!
Mr. Shehab please write a Book.
Thank you for your service, Sir!
"I'm not a Mr., I'm a Leiutenant Colonel. The Mr. went out when I took the oath".
A charismatic man
We are free due to this gentleman. So much respect
My buddy Charlie was there , he got frost bite so he got hauled out of there , in my opinion that what saved his life
BlueFlyer my father also was there and got frost bite on both feet. After he recovered, he got sent back!
My great uncle made it to the end of Bastogne. Mortally wounded taking Bourcy on January 16th and died from of wounds on Jan 21, 1945. I've been studying the 101st, 502nd PIR. These great men in the Bulge lived through hell in horrible conditions... meanwhile, both of my grandpa's were in the Pacific. Thank you to every veteran for our freedom!
I think every American under the age of 40 needs to hear what this great man says at the end. I fully agree with him that when you take your oath that it is for life, I know my did and I still believe in it, I'll be 49 years old in a few days and if my country called and said they needed me today I'd be on my way. We have a great country and we enjoy all kinds of Freedoms and all those freedoms people take for granted was not cheep then and they are not cheap this day. Many good men and women have died for our Freedom and no thank you will never be good enough for them. So from one old Marine to all my brothers and sisters in Arms, thank you all for what you have done and may have to do for our country and families. Semper Fi from an old Marine
Wow only 16,487 views from Oct. 2019 forward.....guess to many people playing video games and getting FREE stuff to watch a great man tell it like it is...sad. Our country (USA) will pay a terrible price for not learning from what really should be important and history bares this out.
Unfortunately history shows us countries have a life span, and our country is now going into old age. We’ve been around over 200 years and now we’re on our way out. Our people who have forgotten the Republic our Founders gave us have no idea what they our leaving our children. God help the USA!
37:25 Funny he should mention it (about the movie Patton). I was just thinking about his point on the matter before he even stated it. Not only are most of the younger generation unfamiliar with the movie, most kids probably do not even know who General George Patton was ( or even heard of WW2 for that matter).
Thank you Lt. Col Shehab for your service.
Today's youth know little about anything beyond Tiktok, Facebook, or America's Got Talent.
That's a *YUGE 10-4!!*
The LTC Shehab mentioned the 106 Div a couple of times where my father was taken prisoner. Dad described the 106th as a green division that was basically sacrificed to allow the other units to stabilize and hold the german advance. He was wounded and taken prisoner and held at "Bad Orb" Germany. In the battle of the bulge something like 9,000 GI's disappeared. When asked what he remembered most about being a POW he said "lice" and he could still feel them on his body. He still had a soft area on his skull and shrapnel scars on the entire left side of his body where he was wounded. He passed in 2012 at 86 years of age.
When the LTC mentioned the 106th I.D. , i thought of Kurt Vonnegut’s book from 50 yrs.ago "Slaughterhouse 5" which Vonnegut wrote through his main character, Billy Pilgrim, and taken prisoner while in the 106th and his experiences being locked inside the Dresden slaughterhouse #5, then coming outside to a huge bombed out wasteland to help with the cleanup.
a sharp memory there Sir thank you.
Respect
Thank you
This man sounds like a British officer when you hear him talk about a swagger stick and tea, but he was in the US Army
I have nothing but respect for the veterans who came before me. I would never give up. I wasn't ending up in a orange jumpsuit getting my head taken. I told my guys I would fight with them until I had 3 bullets left then I was putting my rifle on 3 round burst and ending it myself I wasn't letting them get their hands on me
HERE .! HERE..!

new jersey native nice. God bless hero!
I agree with you sir!!!
What a great Patriot !
Do you have any interviews from soldiers who served in the signal corps/XVI corps? I've got family ties and would love to hear stories or anything to do with telephone line constructors/wire runners
What a hero!
A handsome gentleman. Well spoken, a class act. Not a great interviewer.
Hero!!!
Rest well, lieutenant Colonel💪🏽
Not to go off course from this hero but when i wear linen shorts in the summer it is also a battle of the bulge.
I had went commendo once, and as said in Johnny Dangerously, "just once".
We are nothing.me included..this generation is nothing in comparison to that of this fine Sir..that generation gave there all and everything to save todays world..
this gereation takes the world and messes it up...God bless you all.
We need a good very realistic WWII movie that puts it all together in say 4 hours so we get a very good idea as to what all happened. A movie that shows all the countries involved and what happened in each of those countries and how they all contributed to the war effort. It would be a difficult movie to make because of all that took place but I think it could be made. The movie could be titled..."WWII in 4 Hours". Most videos/movies pick out one small fragment of the war and focus solely on it. Make the movie so that everything is presented in chronological order we get a good idea as to what happened and when...
Why the breaks? This isn’t on tv and it might mess up something he was gonna say or get into
POL refers to a fueling point; petroleum/oil/lubrication.
What brave men.Of course this gentleman included.
81000 casualties!
He's one of many Lebanese American WWII veterans that many should know.
He was my father's cousin and he was never a civilian. He lived on an Army base all his life and his answering machine played revelry.
...did he say "When i saw WAACS kanding in France that was it"?
Oh my :P
My dad has 6 brothers, every one went to VIetnam and all came back, well one blew his head off later but still
and lost all but 2 to the drink, killed em early...drinking and fighting all of em
The Russians had doubts about olive oil? 28:50
I watch these all the time............. and I look at America now.............. and I have great sorrow for what I see. Great Americans like this are slammed because they are not african. It's true.
Turn your t.v. and facebook off. You'll find America is alive and well.
These are great guys - I am sad that douce bag trump is at the helm representing a great nation.
If you ain't cav....
How can we avoid repeating history if young people are not taught it in schools.
Too bad tge interviewer doesn't asked more intense questions.
“The Palestinians are paying the price of the Holocaust.” That’s a profound statement and unfortunately, America is complicit in this human tragedy.
Ummm how much did the hollard cost
37:33 Bingo!
I'd love to see this man go have 'a talk' with Trump. Now that'd be a presidential education like none other! lol
I'd love for him to take some of those communist democrats in office and take them behind the barn and give them an old fashioned ass whipping.
Trump is everything this man abhors.
what did he mean that the Palestinians are paying for it, something that a western christian nation did?
I thought that was interesting too. The Holocaust led to the displacement of a load of Jewish people, and processes after the war then led to the creation of a Jewish state in what was Palestine. Palestinians aren't happy their land got taken to create the modern state of Israel, and they've been treated pretty poorly by the Israelis, to put it lightly. Had the Holocaust not occurred, the impetus for creating a Jewish ethnostate wouldn't have really been there. Pretty interesting and progressive thinking from an old guy. Seems like a pretty sharp fellow though.
@@britlitemail The country of Israel was always a Jewish nation, given to them by God, thru his promise to Abraham. In fact, it was much larger then with borders further north into Syria, and east to Iraq at the Euphrates river. The Bible gives the exact boundaries. The Palestinians are Arabs, who were allowed to settle in Israel, against the better advice of God. He said, they would be like thorns pricking the sides of the Jews! The Palestinians claimed Israel when the Jews were exiled by God, but it was never meant to be a permanent exile, and when the Jews returned in 1948, there has been anomosity ever since. Israel is the apple of God's eye, and He is in control...
britlitemail Palestinian “leadership” has made it possible for their people to be “treated pretty poorly,” and the Arab nations recognize that fact.
@@vivians9392 what a great propoganda agent you are, as long as you believe it then i guess the suffering of young children sickly, malnouriehed whilst watching thier land being illegally and immorally taken off them by force is all acceptable ? AND you say GOD is ok with this crap ? What would you say to God , how would you justify your peoplesand nations behaviour ? Considering JESUS abhorred this behaviour ! From Australia. Free PALESTINE
@@vivians9392 ah, no, exactly the opposite. Why do you think they suffered the holocaust. God, doesn't favour them. God is for the melting pot.

Again the Malmedy massacre. But the Americans were shooting German prisoners of war too. But what was Hitler suppose to do, just let the Americans come into Germany? The German generals were not against the Aredens offensive. They just felt Hitler was trying to go to far with the attack. But Pieper almost got there. He ran out of fuel.
No. The Americans did not gun down a large group of soldiers that had surrendered.
Yes they did. In retaliation for the American prisoners that were gunned down.
Wondering what his pronouns are?
Did he do any actual fighting, sounds like he managed to avoid combat and had an easy time.
Trump we wouldn't know about this stuff. He dodged the draft.
You must have forgotten when he remembered ww2 veterans in one of his great speeches and your dear leader Nancy ripped up his speech as he was commemorating the great warrior... Sad ppl the dems are
Trump did more for the military than any socialist Democrat. Socialist Democrats want to defund military.
Before trump anyone worked in va hospital could not be fired. Trump made it law you harm any veteran YOUR FIRED.
clinton hid out in Canada to prevent going to Vietnam less we forget
I love how pissed off they get after you interrupt them for you to change your tampons
