Happy to hear. They really shine on the trail! I'm still waiting for the second pair I ordered- the Terraventure 4 WP's. But I'm in love with the Traverse.
That's cool. I just ordered the Terraventure 4 WP as my second pair of Topo's, but they haven't arrived yet. What other models do you like? Have you tried the MT-5's?
@@JustinSpeer My first pair of Topo's were the the MT-4, and I loved those! The MT-5's were not released yet when I purchased the Traverse, but I am really liking the new style on the 5's. For those long hikes with all my camera gear, when I know the weather is going to be a bit on the wet side, I go with my Trailventure 2 WP.
The traverse are sold-out in Canada, so I just ordered a pair of the Pursuit 2. They have the same drying technology in the fabric and sole, and are supposed to be a more comfy ride. I am doing backcountry portages with 60 pound packs, so the Pursuit 2 may have less stability but I think my feet will be happier. I decided to ditch traditional water-proof hikers because my feet would be burning and the hard structure would wear my feet. Hoping I don't bruise my toes or feet with the rocks and roots
@TelosBudo, thanks! I'll be curious how you like the Pursuit 2's. That's the next pair I want to get. So far, I have the Traverse and the Terraventure 4 WP's. (Love them both.)
I've been wearing lems since their widest fits my feet without rubbing on my pinky. I'm not very active and walk on paved trails/ grass with some small walks. Would you suggest these shoes or a different topo shoe? Thanks for the video!
Oh, I'm curious how you like the Lems. I've seen those before and often wondered if they're worth purchasing. For the Top Athletic shoes, yes- I would highly recommend both the Traverse as well as the Terraventure 4 WP. Those are the two pairs I own. And both pairs of shoes are great for pavement as well as the trail. I've been using them as my travel shoes since they're equally good for both. I took the Traverse on a 10-day vacation all throughout Arizona, doing a lot of walking in-town as well as a couple hikes on trails. And they were excellent. I even took them kayaking and they were fully submerged in water and dried out quickly. I was amazed. And I've used the Terraventure 4 WP's on my travels to Colorado. Most of the time was spent in cities, but it was nice to have these for the two hikes I did. Can't say enough good things about them. Very comfortable and a nice wide toe box.
All are from Fjallraven. The darker ones are the Keb Trousers M Reg and the lighter color ones are the Abisko Lite Trekking Trousers M Reg. The Keb Trousers are good for 3 seasons, the Abisko Lites are great for hot weather. And then I also have a pair of Vidda Pro Ventilated Trousers M Reg that I like to wear when it's really cold. I swear by the Fjallraven hiking pants. So comfortable. I used to sometimes hike in shorts, but these keep my legs protected from shrubs, nettles, and bugs. Thanks for watching!
Re: color options, I just have to say that while sure, more color options would be nice, at least these aren't bad and they're mostly solid. Topo is the only single hiking/trail runner manufacturer whose shoes aren't completely hideous.
Good point. Yes- I just took these Topo shoes on a 10-day trip through Arizona and received several compliments on them. People seem to like the green color. These held up well for hiking in the Arizona desert as well as kayaking. Several times they were fully submerged in the river and they not only did well on the slippery rocks but also dried out fairly quickly. They never felt waterlogged. I was very impressed.
@@JustinSpeer I have the olive green Pursuits and I was pleasantly surprised that they were better looking in person. The only Topos I've had, but incredibly comfortable. Good to know the Traverse live up to the hype regarding water. I've read a couple negative things in that regard, but they seemed a little nitpicky, as if they may had been expecting for their entire foot and shoe to magically part the water away from their feet entirely.
I highly doubt it. Topos are narrow through the mid-foot and heel. They do have an excellent try and return policy, so you can try them without getting stuck with them if they don’t work out.
I have been really happy with them. The only drawbacks, in my opinion, or the aren't many color options and a lot of times various models are out of stock. But it's a growing company, so I'm sure that aspect will get better over time.
Just got a set in, they fit good, immediately took a 2-mile walk in my neighborhood, very comfortable. Getting ready for the hiking season coming up,

I have several pairs of Topo's , but these new Traverse are my favorites! Definitely the most comfortable right out of the box, of any shoe I own.

@@noahlar, thanks for sharing. Topo Athletic is my new favorite shoe brand. So I'm sure at some point I'll buy others.
I have a pair of altra timp 4 and love them but want to try Topo. Thanx for the review.
Thanks for watching.

Thanks. I've got the Terraventure 4 WP's on the way, but I think my next Topo purchase after that will be the Pursuits.
sounds like you attach the microphone to your dog's collar, right?
Hahaha. Nope. I'm wearing the microphone, but my dog is definitely a heavy breather after exercise. Thanks for watching.
I love Pursuits
Do you use your Pursuits on the trail at all, or just around town? That might be my next Topo Athletic purchase. Thanks.
Would these be suitable for a EE width foot?
Honestly, not sure. My feet are somewhat slender. There's definitely some room left in them, but it's more in the toe box.
I highly doubt it. Topos are narrow through the mid-foot and heel. They do have an excellent try and return policy, so you can try them without getting stuck with them if they don’t work out.

Color sucks!
It's not for everyone- that's for sure.
I agree. I'd say generally their choices of colors are bad.
@@kevinstarski1598, I just received some black ones (different model) that look pretty sharp. Can't go wrong there.
paid ad.
No. I actually bought these shoes myself and have no affiliation with Topo Athletic.
